In this beginner tig package video I test out weld metals online's beginner steel tig package. Overall I found it to be a great starter pack. 1/16" is a little thin for beginners, but it does help change things up.

I started practicing with my tig 3 weeks ago & weld metals online was out of a bunch of stuff (must be popular) I bought the 1/16 aluminium & 3/32nd filler rod since they were out of 1/16th rod. I think 1/16th steel maybe a breeze compared to the aluminum. Basically I made a $80.00 mess but by the end I can do a t-joint successfully. Reordered the aluminum kit this time, oh and I like the laYZr it seems to do what it's supposed to. (Not that I know) ck worldwide is in my hometown so thats pretty gangster if you ask me

Very nice new welder! How are you liking the new HTP? Is it me or do your welds look tighter? ;) Maybe a video on it?
Gas lens for the win. #5 only good for 3/16" welds on aluminum size welds. 1/4" welds on aluminum I step it up to at least a #6 gas lens.
Im a cup whore haha normally #7 gas lens and occasional #5 standard for mostmy aluminum
What lens are you running on your hood.
If the gold crap on that welding table melts, I think it's like super bad for you, like way worse than zinc, it's toxic... maybe I'm wrong but I think it releases cadmium or something like that... no Bueno... for this reason exactly (not knowing I mean) is why I always wear a respirator now while I weld... better to be safe than sick lol... great content tho btw! Keep it up!

Which import ac dc welder do you think welds thin metals the best?
You know I've only used one and it worked great for 3 or 4 months but after that it started going down hill fast. It was the alpha tig 200. They might be better now. The only problem woth learning on them is that if you're new to TIG welding and it starts to go bad you really can't tell if its you or the machine. They are hard to pass up for the price though!
Cool kit, and vid...but remember kids, unless it's a water cooled rig with a high freak, you can't weld aluminum with it...not very good anyway.

The furick cup really improves your welding that much?
Ya especially on thin stuff. As soon as the metal gets red hot and its not covered by gas it starts welding scummy.
What was your CFH with that furick?
I was running 25 cfh
