In this video, Marc and I will shoot the Taipan Veteran Long .25 cal out to 87 Yards using AVS .253 35 grain slugs. 1/2 MOA and many sub MOA groups at 87 Yards
Just bought one two weeks ago. Limited time playing with it because I'm in michigan. Got the vetran long in 25 .I've also had the tactical cricket 2 60 in 22 and love that gun. I'm sure I'm going to be pleased with the taipan also. Thanks for the info
I always enjoy watching your videos Stephen !!! I don't know if I ever told you or not but with my Liberty I sized down the .218 slugs that I cast and resized to .215 and they are excellent in the Liberty. It's been a while since I've shot the Liberty but it's still ready any time I need it, that duy poppet really did the trick on that parts gun that I got from ATI.
Love, love my Taipans. My .25 long from Tony Tunes with the power plenum tune is one of my favorite rifles. 65fpe out of the box. Had it a couple year's now, and thought about installing a Huma reg, but the stock one is doing such a good job at consistently I'm probably not going to swap until an issue. Still using your slugs in many of my rifles. Good job.
Awesome video Steve I love my taipan vet long 25 cal with a power plenum and a huma reg set at 165 bar I've turn it up to 80 fpe but right now I'm shooting 26 gr hades at 885 fpe I get a lot of shots but if I want power I can just turn it up with the adjustment screw from donny fl thanks for sharing bsafe awesome stuff
CZ on the side refers to country of origin, I believe. My compact has a LW barrel and it says CZ on the side. A 3d printed biathlon type lever is clipped on the factory lever . I have one on mine as well and it's a great upgrade.
Very impressive shooting. I've been working on testing out your slugs with my Avenger. 25 cal. Unfortunately down in LA (lower Alabama) the weather has been really unfavorable this month. But I can say so far my rifle does better with all of your slugs than with the FX Hybrids. The only size my gun really didn't like was the 28gr 251. But even though my gun didn't like those they still did slightly better than the 26gr FX. The 3 best so far have been the 26gr and 34gr 251s, and also the 34gr 253s. I'm still working on it. Unfortunately I tried tuning the reg down and that made things crazy bad for a while but I've tuned it back up to 2900 and the groups have come back. Also my Donny FL moderator extension made my rifle so loud that my neighbor thought I was shooting a powder burner. It was worse than the stock piece. So I drilled 4 more wholes in it and it's been a night and day difference in loudness.
I have found that a little bit tuning with the right weight and diameter slugs will go from 2 groups a 100 yards down to 1 inch. One or two grains and a slight adjustment in velocity and everything falls into place.
Dear Sir, other day you mentioned about increasing the regulator to 150bar to get decent speed with the slugs. Won't operating the gun at Reg pressure to 150 bar has more wear and tear on the metallic components over a period of time. Kindly guide pl. Regards
Depends, Taipans are known to be tuned a bit "hot". 150 bar is common setting for them. Higher pressures would naturally put more effort on the components, you would be surprised by what they can tolerate. But in the end, go with what you are comfortable with.
How on earth have I not seen this video!?!!! I’ve been “pondering” the idea of a vet for a while now! But this video just sold me!

These are Great guns. They came out with the forward slide lever whichever has been waiting for so many years.

I'd be happy with any one of those grains.

wise decision. Steve makes real nice slugs, especially with the custom sizes.
Very interesting and nice shooting.
Great work 👏
Thanks ✌️

Where to order the biathlon lever please?
Very nice 👌 👍
Thank you! Cheers!

Great video. Do you have Veteran 2 in your testing pipeline? Don't see many of those yet. Thx
nice
Thanks
Compact, standard and long, what is the exact LENGTH? of each size ??

Anything is possible. If you are not comfortable raising your regulator pressure I recommend you dont.
