- This time we are giving you more of what you want: We've got the 1961 Cadillac Coupe DeVille build and the road trip home from MRC Fab in the 1967 Chevy C10. We'll show you how the rear wheel tubs were made in the Caddy, install a pair of Stroud parachutes and then load the Caddy onto a trailer and bring it home. When we'll road trip the C10 and break down twice! lol.
Check out some of the parts were use here:

Grade a content. The caddy build is so epic. You have such good taste in builds.
When my favourite drifter comments on my favorite fab Chanel... good monday
Its cool to see you supporting other people, love the miata btw
The dude making the wheel tubs is KILLER with those tin snips.
Surprised there is no bead rolls in the tubs, to stiffen them up.
@@tezzrterry7485 Unlike a flat panel, the arched shape keeps the sheet under tension. When you add the strength from the side panels, I don't know if bead rolling would add much.
Snips gotta be sharp af too
I forgot how heavy the old bumpers are and then I remembered they really are bumpers designed to protect the car, not crumple zones designed to protect the occupants. I remember what Jay Leno said about the old cars. They were so tough that when you got into a wreck you could just wipe off the blood and sell it to the next owner.
Yeah i drove into a street sign at 60+MPH after skidding in the wet.. the street sign fell over and i drove home.
Yeah.. I don't really think so. Just check out the 59 Bel Air vs 2009 Malibu crash test, the 59 Bel Air is completely demolished with occupants probably dying and the Malibu occupants would have walked away.
@@ERidParasoth an extended family member who builds mopars got in a head-on wreck waiting to turn left. Had he been in one of his old cars, he likely wouldn't be here. He did suffer lasting damage tho 😕
Yep that 61 Caddy has a beefy frame. Go Google 64 Chrysler Imperial, that frame was so tough they outlawed it from demolition derby and figure 8 almost instantly.
@@ERidParasoth The deck was stacked against the 59 Chevy, which has an X frame chassis, like this Cadillac was built with. That collision was a side impact, which is the weakest, least tested angle of impact of the 59. The bumpers of the 59, the subject of this thread, didn't even factor in that collision.

When did he say that haha
It’s on roadkill garage on motor trend
That tow hitch has Drag Week written all over it. Coolest. Build. Ever.
It’s amazing the caddy didn’t overheat
It would have if it had been Roadkill.. 😂
Great gas mileage too
@@dukenukem7183 the best gas mileage it will ever have
@@Doubie. funny thing is it might get better mpg with the Nelson racing twin turbo big block than it did from the factory!!! Granted this car is pretty heavy but it isn’t unheard of for a street car that runs 8s or even lower to get 20mpg in street tune.
@@jasontruman1215 o don’t disagree but it’s not going to get better fuel mileage than the truck is towing it that’s the joke it’s going to be too turned up to get better fuel mileage than the truck even with the best highway gearing
There is something so soothing about watching an old school fabricator use tin snips! its a beautiful thing! 4.07
MRC Fabrication has f-ing AMAZING fabricators ! Truly hand built / fabbed works of art ! DAYUM !!!
“So... I was just hoping Sasquatch don’t jump out... “ You three guys are great together. The fun you have and just conversations are worth the watch. And then there’s cool car/truck stuff as well! Keep it up, Clay
I'm surprised when the C10 overheated he didn't go full roadkill lol #takethehoodoff
Watching old dudes fabricate is the best thing ever
Cotton standing next to that flashing mirror while telling the story was CZcams magic!😂
Ok, we need to see a race between the Dale truck and the C-10, soon. The C-10 sounds so wicked, can't wait to see the Cadi flying down the track.
lol I said the exact same thing last video. haha
Dale truck would smoke the c10 but both are sick!
Dale truck is more powerful than the c-10
@@Jefreeman13 it would be quite the vid though,👍
NEED more young guys, or girls to get into this kinda work, we don't want to lose these skills in the world, much important!!!
We all know damn well that chassis is never getting powder coated
lol. good point.
Then you could take it to Bonneville and activate the automatic chassis lightening feature.
We all know damn well that body is never getting painted too!
@@mikebiron7339 clear coat it, done.
Did his Wife's Elco ever get painted?
Watching a experienced fabricator work is impressive
Love that you have a beautiful white tundra pulling a beautiful white caddy
Road trips with issues are the spice of a gearhead's life.
Between mullet on ksr and cleetus’s channels and the caddy and c10 on here three of the most bad ass builds going on right now
Vice grip garage Independence Chevelle is up there
Ryan Teurck Formula Supra is pretty legit too 👌
Plus Taylor’s k24 sefiro! 👌🏼👍🏼
@@isaacoakes3378 that’s a good one
I can’t imagine how LOUD it is in the cab of that truck! Damn!
WHHAAAAATTTT????!!!
What do they say, if it’s to loud your to old.
@@dsimpleman67 Not really. I would not be surprised if he does something to quiet it down a bit. No matter the age, sitting in a loud tin can like that is just no good.
@@dsimpleman67Cub Koda has that written on his grave. My favorite headstone in the whole graveyard near me
The nicest 67 C-10 I’ve ever seen. Super cool love the dash
Ex-NASCAR builders!!
When, back in 1958...!🤣🤣🤣
Love dem old guys maaan!!!
They forgotten more then we would ever know!!! 🤣🤣💪🏼💪🏼❤️🔥🔥🔥👍🏻
Thanks guys. I started ordering little things for my car to get it ready for the summer. New "factory" battery cables, new clamp style "factory" battery tie down, about to order a new carb and intake. The original 2 barrel is about done. 1965 Fairlane with a 289. 99 percent original including paint, windows, interior. It's not a show car but I always get a compliment because you dont really see the 65 very often.
When mike says he needs SEVERAL zip ties, sit back and watch, because he’s about to do QUALITY work. Notice me.
this man speaks the truth.
@@FinnegansGarage road kill vibes lol with the zip ties
lmao call your dad or something
Wow you have the luxury of VERY talented friends and fabricators. This level of work makes me miss my Gramps (RIP), who was a life long "body man" he started his career doing coach work consisting of fabricating suspension and doing hand finished lacquer jobs. He just transitioned that talent into fabricating, repairing and painting cars and trucks. I always just wanted to make things go fast, I didn't care what they looked like, This truck is exactly what my goals are with a vehicle. Were it mine I would just clear coat that truck and drive it like it is.
Seeing this guy working with the metal w/o gloves 😱 i would have cut myself like a brazillion times after three times looking at the metal 🤣😉👍
I haven't seen fabb work like that since my dad was alive thank you so very much old school I think everything should be tubbed
Damn I wish I was younger and could go back and master metal work.
The c10 looks like something out of fast and furious and it is INSANE
The C10 sounds outstanding.
The caddy will run forever just the way it sits 😆
I feel like all of Mikes projects need an auxiliary ground and power distro block installed and prewired with a 1/2 dozen leads off both and ran by its own switch. Would save him years of his life long term haha.
GREAT VIDEO MIKE!!!! I LOVE ALL OF YOUR PROJECTS!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Instead of moving the steering column for long trips just get a second steering wheel that is flatter then you just have to swap steering wheels with the quick release! That caddy is awesome and so is the truck!!!!
I was thinking the same thing
The Cadillac is absolutely awesome!
You are a super chill dude im glad you do these videos outside motor trend
That caddy is ultra cool man, what a vehicle
Those two vehicles are SWEET!!
60 year old design... and those Caddy fins will NEVER get old. Why did they ever take them away Ill never know.
That caddy is a 10 year build if it wasn't at MRC.By far one of the baddest looking cars I've ever seen
that is the coolest looking caddy ever ....!!
Grandma and grandpa will be proud caddy power
When you first started this build, I was quietly in the 'please don't cut it up' camp.
Now I can wait to see this thing rip 200mph.
I was also concerned about the closeness of the steering wheel in the C10, and thought, a fat man like me could never drive one if it's that close, and you addressed that in this vid.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, Mike, I'm sorry I ever doubted you. lol
Best looking Cadillac ever....so good
Its amazing to me that just a second ago I got a notification for a new video, I clicked on it, and 73 people have watched and 5 people have commented on it! lol
Same lol
I just can't wait to see the Cadillac go on drag week that's what it's about
May I suggest equipping the chase truck with a utility bed with a full set of tools, , floor jacks, an air compressor, maybe a crane... I do enjoy the way you guys deal with adversity.
The year is 2038,and Finnegan is finally installing a new fan control module...
its been two weeks since this trip and i still havent fixed the fans. lol
@@FinnegansGarage I still run a switch, for when I'm in traffic. Forget = engine death.
@@izzyplusplusplus1004 lmfao so do i.. i will never change the switch for the fans.
@@theholydarkpope6972 It's sure to work that way. I mean, I got a relay and a fuse. And some zip ties!
@@FinnegansGarage I'm the same with my commodore, got a list half a mile long of stuff that needs doing to it, just can't be bothered lol
It would take me 20 years to pay off that shop bill! Amazing work.
the sequential gearbox is a great choice. that trucks a monster
Regarding C10 Steering Wheel: Get a second wheel with a shallower dish depth (or flat) along with another quick release coupler for your longer journeys. One wheel for racing, another for cruising. Great episode!
The Caddy is going to be BAD ASS
The Caddy is so damn beautiful. I love it.
Me too, nothing drives like them old caddys, so smooth and comphy with a shit ton of torque and power
The video is awesome but to see them in person is amazing!
AND I will always be able to say the couch in my office is that original Cadi seat 😂
That 61 is so sweet. If I had it, ls swap and airbags. Weekend cruiser.
Jesus, even 30 years ago we knew what a Pittsburg seam roller was. With that I could build a set of tubs in 15 minutes
Gene Uhara was the tin master back then. He welded everything, and would English wheel it all so that you could not see the seams.
Yall make all kinds of memories
Wicked show... wicked badass raw cars n trucks!
Love the hood prop. Don’t worry us construction guys don’t use those survey stakes anyway 🤣😎
My hat goes off to anyone good at body/chassis work. It's a freaking art form
Love your videos brother. I’ve watched all your roadkill. episodes . Super Fan👍
Awesome video! You saved my day while MotorTrendOnDemand turned me down "due to changing laws and regulations in certain territories"! Keep going the great work!
That caddy is a beast of a car. 🙂
Awesome adventure. Thanks for sharing it
That 1961 Cadillac would have made an awesome cruiser had it retained the stock floor and full interior with an upgrade to the engine and drivetrain.
Well, then you get one for you, and built it the way you want yours.
Sheet metal magic by experts, these guys know their stuff.
With good speakers that thing rumbles all the way in Canada.
He and freiberger are both automotive omnivores, just from two very different places. I resented the roadkill move at first, but I was wrong... It brought us 12 volt Dave and Cotten. The trucks amazing, and the caddy is now my favorite car ever... and I wish you and the gang nothing but success! Well done sir.
Great job again. Enjoy the rides.
I'm always awestruck by skilled panel beaters/fabricators 😮
Thats some great fabrication, great video guys.
Man this is so cool. Their work is awesome, I can't wait to see it all come together.
Looks like the floor pan was made for it. You couldn't have made a better setup structure wise than what was already stamped and ready to go. Can't beat that
Never forget your roots mikey. Take that hood off and drive faster to cool the LT4
They said more than once, they were in traffic.
@@Nick210 I know that. Unlike most i watched the whole video. We all agree Waze is to blame. They should have kept it west bound and down on the highway to georgia
@@Nick210 it wouldn’t help much but it wouldn’t be trapping all the heat under the hood
SO satisfying watching craftsmen that are great at what they do. Especially when it's done by hand.
"Gonna take the caddy to my home garage where we know how to do wiring"-C10 breaks down, wiring for fans doesn't work. Love this channel. Caddy looks great man.
i love watching true craftsman at work they make it look so simple that you think you can do it :) but truth is you cant :(
Someone won’t be happy you took the survey stick. 😂🤣😅
By far the best build so far. C10 is badass but the caddy is so bad been watching the build from beginning.
Very nice work
Awesome video, Looking forward to more on the Caddy
Those frabacators ? Are amazing, to have that kind of talent is truly a gift! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
So I use to thing Blasphemi was your best car but that Caddy has surpassed that by far. That thing is unreal
I love how to the untrained eye the caddy looks like a regular old caddy until you see the parachute
More like the beadlocks and big Hoosier
...and the 'deep meats' from behind. Damn she looks mean.
Caddy looks like every boy's favorite toy car ♥️
It’s awesome to watch a true craftsman at work!!
Real craftsmen there. Awesome. Thanks, Mike
This car is so rad.
Imagine if this was an AWD build. Would be even more crazy.
MRC Fabrication don't mess around! Those guy's rock! A Big thank you to them for there quality work!
Mike, once you go 200 mph,you will want to go 200 again and again! Ask David. He will tell you about it. It's the experience, sensation of going that fast, the thrill of it!
Good to see you all made it home. With just a few ordeals. That is what shake down runs are for!
Damn, that metal man takes all the "Roadkill" out of this. He is waaay too smooth to be working on one of Finnz cars. But hot wiring the fans redeemed the segment.
Wow!
It it a joy to watch REAL craftsmen work, MRC crew is unreal!
LOL, my metal work ability peaked at using cut up beer cans and pop rivets, then slathering Bondo and/ or spray on undercoating on top to hide it!
My god, that fab work is amazing! The price tag must be brutal, I shudder to think....
Like'n the Cad, bad idea well done--awesome
LOVE watching the fab work. Great craftsmanship 👏🏼
That truck is so sick! Love it just running through the gears is live a musical masterpiece!
F Bomb vs. Caddi !!!!!!! It has to happen !
Man, that C10 sits so flat when it’s rowing through the gears, so nice
Also, blame Cotten for everything!
Damn it Cotton. If it goes wrong just blame Cotton. Especially when you run outta gas 1/2 mile from home. 😝
it DOES sound like the OG muscle truck, but ballsier. i dig it!
Timmy is such a good guy and MRC is an incredible shop. Crazy to see y’all road tripping through my town
That is a bad ass truck! Since you don't want it anymore, I'll let you give it to me...
