- Not many photographers know that the Datacolor SypderCUBE and SpyderCHECKR are designed to work together in a pro photographer's workflow. In this video, I show how to use them in tandem during a real-world studio shoot.
The Spyder CUBE and SpyderCHECKR are two of the tools in the four-tool SpyderX Capture Pro kit. Datacolor sent one of their brand-new SpyderX Capture Pro kits for me to test in my photography business. Check out the other Datacolor videos on our channel to watch detailed hands-on reviews of each of the tools in SpyderX Capture Pro kit - Spyder X Elite Colorimeter, SpyderCUBE, SpyderLENSCAL and SpyderCHECKR color calibration chart.

Best video on the topic! Thank you.
OMG I love you! This video is perfect!
Superb as usual
I'm hoping to use my checker when I take photos of paintings and try to keep the original colors. So you didn't create a profile (for me, those are on the right side in the basic section), rather you created a preset in the software that you applied to the photo. I hope that's right, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the concept. I thought that the software was somehow in/a part of LRC, but it's not. Very interesting.
excellent thanks
I think you have to uncheck AUTO adjustments in tone-section and select linear-color-profile before exporting a jpeg - for an accurate colorchecker exportfile. DNG is another way to not get wrong adjustments before creating a profile.
Danke vielmals
In your video you showed them separate of each other. How can you combine them in your workflow?
This is done pre Lightroom CC what profile do you have set in profile before you start calibration, in the video you have camera standard v2
TNQ
ITS VERY USEFULL TO ME
I thought you could choose Edit in SpyderChecker - Editor? Instead of exporting a jpeg
I use my datacolor cube for clog for c100 mkii. I set grey to 33 percent and pop this cube into video then remove. Set white balance with grey card and record. Then bring this into davanci resolve studio and use the color controls and mask out black dot. Set it to full black. Move to highlight white face and set white to 95 percent on wav form monitor and use gamma to bring middle grey to 50 percent. Amazing results with canon clog! The pre supplied lut for clog to rec 709 does not convert like the datacube does. Results is nice bright video with no noise in shadows and white highlights are perfect. I know this product is for photos but no one talks about clog and bringing colors back to rec709 for video!
14.40 you can see the skin tone, I already test this product, the color is not even close with the subject I can say this as the worst color correction tools ever.
