I think the fact BOTH that her sister and her dad instantly knew she was lying says allot about their relationship off screen.

Well, it can go either way. Maybe she almost never lies so she's not good at it and they know. Or maybe she lies all the time and they're used to it. But those are just the extremes. She might just have a normal relationship with them, but they can still tell when she's lying. So honestly it doesn't really say that much.
It could also be a relationship so strong that no one who knows them would ever think of cheating like something that is even an option.

Noticed a bit of debate whether Katherine’s sister really was joking or not, so from what I’ve noticed:
- Based off Katherine’s dad, he almost immediately knew Katherine was lying. It’s entirely plausible her sister also caught on and decided to counter screw with Katherine.
- Katherine didn’t seem to suggest they weren’t together after the fact? Most people seem to think she’s trying to cover for herself here, but I don’t see any reason for her to lie? otherwise, if she did break up her sisters marriage, she definitely would’ve told Alex not to air that task.
- her sister would’ve had to sign a release for Alex and the producers to air that phone call. I mean, admitting to cheating on TV is pretty damning if it were true. But seeing that it made it to the studio filming and to air, it looks like her sister went through with it, and let it air for some good Telly.

There was an episode earlier in the series where her sister appeared (as the "special thing" Katherine brought in) so I'm guessing she realised what Katherine was up to here and just went along with it too for the hell of it.

My guess is that she told her family when they were filming, and also informed them that if she were to contact them it would likely be a part of a challenge. Which would explain why she had the idea to call them. It was already on her mind that if she could call her family to pass a challenge it would be easier than doing the challenge and likely hilarity would ensue

Aw man! I was expecting them to get a 2 pt. Task reveal. So first they get told to make the biggest mess and once they think they did it, they get a 2nd letter that says "Now clean it up"
All these people talking about how clever the sister and dad are for knowing immediately that it was a prank, but it’s pretty obvious that the sister was telling the truth. The tone in her voice said it all. If it was true that she was cheating on him, I’m sure they wouldn’t want this show to ruin their marriage so clearly Katherine just said that bit about her sister thinking it was a prank to cover for her sister actually cheating

I did two minutes of Instagram research and the sister and her husband are still together. Whilst that doesn't rule out anything, it certainly points toward Katherine telling the truth, and her sister immediately knowing what was up and deciding to return fire.
You have to remember these are people who have known each other their entire lives. If someone you've known for twenty-five years called you up at like 8 in the morning (her sister lives in Canada) and starts dumping life-shattering news within the first five seconds of the call, you'd probably smell a rat too.

My first thought was soapy water and compressed air. You could probably make a lot of bubble and they’d effectively clean themselves

how often do you have to call your family and lie to for them to automatically assume you're lying.
Could be that she doesn’t lie to them a lot so a random call out of the blue with scathing gossip would be obviously a lie. Or it could be that they know she’s a comedian and might’ve wanted to get a laugh out of them. Doesn’t mean she’s a chronic liar, just means she’s close enough to her family that they know when she’s lying by the way she talks.
Only thing that would have been better is to have task 1 be Make The Biggest Mess, and task 2, unknown during task 1, be to completely clear it up. I would have liked to see what they would do if they didn't think they would be the ones to clean, and then find out!
That's actually what I expected to happen, given they already pulled one of these tricks with the 'most exotic sandwich' one a few seasons ago.
