I find it funny that he gets somehow worse at popping the balloons overtime, but because it’s reversed it’s like he’s getting more confident that he doesn’t need to check the balloons.

A narrative arc for the ages. Though in practice it's probably just because it's easier to reset the take every time you fail to pop the 1st balloon on the 1st try.

I really liked the first one. It was realistic enough that, out of context, I wouldn’t have immediately known it was playing backwards. It was actually convincing enough to look really impressive for a second before you realize. And it wasn’t too long, nor too short, and it had its own build up, climax, and de-escalation, which is impressive for being as simple as it was.

I first saw her in Man Down and thought she was a bimbo in real life too but Taskmaster really proved me wrong. This one and the make a Swede blush one where she was the only one to think of just making him double over was brilliant.
@@strateeg32 looks like I didn't know the definition of bimbo. I thought it was someone who strives for conventional attractiveness regardless of whether they were or not lol.
Though I don't think Roisin is actually that unattractive. To me it's just that she already has striking features but then uses heavy, bright makeup to exaggerate them even more and the result looks really overpowering and tacky. But that's a style issue and I think that's the character she plays more than anything.

If the clock was real there would be a "right speed" to swing your arm, since you would have to time it.
Like this the time was edited in post, meaning that it doesn't matter how he swings it arms, it will always seem like he swinged it at the right speed.
he insults tim's for being "just a go at a jigsaw" but all Roisin did was spit water out lol. The black and white and then the music were what it made it decent, but that wasn't the challenge. Tim's at least looked impressive when it was put in reverse, which was what the challenge was.
Not to mention, he even put in the work to make a slowed down and reversed clock so he could make it look like he completed the jigsaw in a short amount of time. Much more impressive in the setup and final result.

yea, I didnt even really care for Roisin's tbh. It looked too obviously reversed. It didnt look at all like it could even be going the right way.
Like, at least the others could conceivable be thought of as not reversed. Hers was just too obviously reversed that it kinda ruined the point of the challenge imo.
But why did it take *so long* to unmake a jigsaw? Surely that'd be the magic of the reverse flow.. if he made a jigsaw quickly from a mess of tiles

I actually had that entire conversation in my head when "MILF" came up on the screen.
There is so much real creativity that went into this one.
1. Romesh missed on bursting two of the balloons in his first try, and just decided to use that in his lyrics
2. Roisin's was just * chef's kiss * beautiful
3. Josh's looked so legitimate that it could've actually been played off as something that isn't being played in reverse!
This was the standalone task that I needed when I was trying to get all of my friends and coworkers to watch this show!

I am really impressed how Romesh is able to speak so fluently in reverse. It sounds amazingly just like normal speech played forward.

I mean you could to the jigsaw puzzle one not in reverse, which is why it's the least impressive. Especially since the timer on the picture frame was slowed down.
To me I thought the jigsaw puzzle was impressive because he disassembled it in reverse order that most people would solve a jigsaw. There was quite a bit of thought to that one

The jigsaw clip was probably the most difficult to film yet very well done. Definitely highly underrated on the show.
Yes, the other two were more ridiculous, but the jigsaw clip was the most impressive.
Okay, what I would have done (this was immediately my first thought ftr):
Take a small block of wood, drive a really long nail through it so I pokes out an inch or two the other side. Attach a longer piece of wood so I can tie it to my arm, but it has to be thin enough to fit inside my longsleeve hidden. Make two, one for each are. I now have two spikes that go an inch beyond my flat, open handed reach.
Now with the going backwards:
Starting at I mirror, I look at it really happily and then slam my hands at it. With the nails sticking out of my arms deschy, the glass should shatter without my skin touching it. I now run backwards doing this to all of the glass covered picture frames with my face being sadder looking and going at a slower pace. In forward this should appear as if I start out walking sadly, and as I begin touching broken pictures they are magically healed, ending with healing the mirror.

There's a 1980's film called Top Secret that has a scene in a "Swedish bookstore" that's an extended sequence like this. It's on CZcams.
There's a 1966 Czechoslovak film called Happy End where _the whole film_ is filmed in reverse. And the dialogue lines are also in reverse order (though not reverse sound). With a narration over it that makes a ridiculous "real" story out of it. It's easily the craziest film I've ever seen.
