In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Komedie
I find it interesting that Alex agreed to being Noel's sandwich while knowing fully well what the second part of the task was.
My goodness
I think if he had done otherwise Noel would have guessed what the second part entailed
Alex sets the tasks he doean't guide them through it
He has also gone full nude on the front steps lol. He doesn't care, he loves it
I think he was kinda positive, that Noel wouldn't eat him whole in the second part of the task. That'd been a bummer.. But show must go on I guess
The best part of this is absolutely when Mel, for a moment, fully thought she was a scooby doo character and could fit that sandwich in her mouth.
The fact that they heard "exotic" and immediately thought "abomination" is really my lettuce for the day.
Brits
Wait what does it mean? 😂
@@rikusophan exotic means foreign or unusual in an exciting way, for example, if you went to the grocery store and saw a food you've never seen from a place you've never heard of, then that would be exotic.
@@thomasstewart9752 or using the phrase "my lettuce for the day." That's exotic
@@user5214 why thank you.
Everyone: "Mmmm what could be the most exotic filling for this sandwich?"

Actual Cannibal Noel Fielding.
Thank goodness he didn't resort to canibalism

"Noel must eat his exotic sandwich"
*pulls down pants
Noel: "It's not that kind of show"
*pulls pants up

@@Atlantis720 what do you want us to reply!?!!? XD
@Atlantis: there’s no real need.
idk, just expected someone to talk about how insane this comment was xD
He could've easily eaten his frankfurter
I'm not sure they could have chosen a better thumbnail.
They couldn't.
Quite the snack you see
An idiot sandwich, someone would say
theSwedishGal I AM AN IDIOT SANDWICH..
There has never been a better sandwich and never will be
Clearly have learned their lesson from the "Make your biggest mess and clean it up" combo task... Splitting this into 2 separate tasks
Actually I think this one came first, so...Yeah, no, if anything this makes that look worse.
@@JoeyDaPal you are correct, the big mess task was in the Champion of Champions special :)
@@flusendieb6833 Plus, they got the complete information during that task. Only this one was split in two.
They are two very different tasks.
This one was to get them to do something stupid and look funny that way. With food tasks you also always have the question of "does Alex have to try it and judge it or will they make me eat it"
The "make the biggest mess and clean it up" was more of a strategic task where they had to balance their mess making with saving time for cleanup.
Alex Horne's ability to keep a straight face is nothing short of awe inspiring.
Yet, he is powerless against Mel getting a M&M stuck in her nose.
I love too, how you just start to see him grin after having given Noel a lap dance. I utterly adore when totally straight-faced comedians occasionally crack hahaha
Oh, the look on Mel's face when she found out she had to eat that: her eyes nearly crossed.
Like, "You *know* I just finished Bake-Off, you *know* I'm trying to lose weight..."
UnbearableWitness was she in the great British bake off?
She does look a bit familiar
I have never heard a heart sink before
@@YanosProductions she was one of the hosts. Hence her comment about people in cooking shows.
Why even try it? lol
Noel's sandwich stands as one of the greatest moments in this show's history
Noel just stands as one of the greatest contestants on this show ever. Which is hard to do.
As anything that Noel does
Noel's sandwich _literally_ stands.
@@AtenRa bro, you made my day 😂
Noel won that by a landslide! He feasted on that exotic dance sandwich with his eyes. He devoured it until there was nothing left but the socks.
This task really proves that Alex created this show just to bring as much chaos as possible
The worst/funniest part about all of this is that Alex knew what was coming afterwards...
i so much wanted someone to just slap it on someone and yell "WHAT ARE YOU"
"An exotic sandwich"
Nathan P underrated reply
Only Gordon does that. It's illegal if you're not Ramsay 😂

Ok but what about ass fountain xD. Oh the sweet sweet times for Alex before Rodd came on the show

that beautiful moment when mel reads "eat your exotic sandwich, fastest wins" and just goes into shock
Oh gang!
“Mm whatcha sa~ay, ooh, that you only meant well…”
10:40 That bread on the camera held by a taped knife surely puts the icing on the cake XD
Alex's reaction when Mel got an M&M stuck up her nose made me burst into tears the two of them laughing and I was too!
"and that dear children, is called cannibalism, and is frowned upon in most societies."
How sweet of Noel to ask if Alex needed company or money.
What I love about this series of Taskmaster is that this group is very chill with each other. There’s no one like super competitive. While watching some competitive people get worked up (to a point) can be fun, I liked how goofy this group was.
The more I watch this show, the more I start to understand that the best way to win is to complete the task by getting around as many rules as you can. Do not play the game the way it was meant to be played. Come up with the stupidest idea you can think of that still technically follows the rules and run with it. At the very least, it'll be hilarious
what if the actual game is meant for you to come up with the stupidest idea you can think, being outside the box?
@@JoachimVampire then you pull out a chess board from your buttpocket and call it a checkmate
My thoughts immediately went to a toast sandwich. 2 bread with a toast in the middle
That's not very exotic in the UK, I should think...
Grilled bread sandwich. Just 3 slices of toast at once.
First I thought this, then I thought inverted sandwich with slices of stuff around bread then finally I settled with a moebius sandwich getting some strips of ingredients stuck as a moebius strip around a single piece of bread and have everything be simultaneously sandwich top, bottom and insides with a single slice of bread
A bread sandwich- David Walliams talked about this in his book
You have to eat it too 😂😂😂
Alex: I don’t think I’ve ever been further outside of my comfort zone. Me: oh you poor thing just wait til seasons 5 and 7
And season 6’s Liza Tarbuck with her amazing cake task 😂
Which clips are you referring to? I'm thinking the cake and surprising thing hole.
@@DustMug I was thinking Rhod exposing alex's ween with the quick-change task, forgot about the hole tho. And for season 5 honestly just anything that happened with Sally XD. The cake cuddle and the birth scene
There's an outtake where Joe asked if Alex could demonstrate his carpet snake movements. Greg said yes (obviously) it resulted in comedy gold. If you search for it it might not give the vid (may depend on what country you're in). I think it should've been included in here.
I had that song stuck in my head for hours. It's back again now.
enjoy
Has anybody found the link for this video?
@@SmartyPoohBear I tried looking for it but I can't find it. Maybe they made it unavailable or removed it completely. I used to be able to find it while not in the UK, by searching for "Alex Horne Carpet Snake" in the YT search bar.
@@theplasmawolf yeah same here. I tried to find the vid the other day but couldn’t find it!
“ *heck* “

the way Noel sighs and says "okay" as looks and leans down has me in tears 10:43
I am endlessly blown away by how Alex can just quickly recite lists, from memory, without stumbling, stuttering, getting tongue-tied, or anything like that. It's honestly amazing. It borders on being Micro Machines Man levels.
huh? check the taskmaster blooper videos. alex is human , too.
@@Dompn The fact that he fucks up sometimes doesn't make it less impressive. You can find videos of Tony Hawk face-planting.
Lolly enjoying her sandwich is my favorite part.
I love that “Ooooh gang...” so much. Better words to describe that task don’t exist.
is it just me or does noel keep giving alex heart eyes during that sequence? lol
Greg was spot-on. Mel's sandwich looks like a five year-old's dream lunch.
So nobody is gonna point out the purposefully zoomed out shot at 10:41 with the bread on the camera huh?
i really appreciated that shot.
A R T
No need to point it out. It is pretty obvious innit?
probably because everyone noticed. not much to say really.
Lol I just noticed that
Oh, i couldn't fucking breathe when they told the first person she had to eat her sandwich. I had to restart the video because i laughed almost the entire rest of the time
"You are aware that when we're at home, he's only allowed to move around like a snake."
Relationship goals.
When Alex said, he was never more out of his comfort zone, I immediately thought about Rhod Gilbert, series 7
Or series 6’s Ass cake
I can now sleep soundly at night knowing that Noel and Alex have eaten weird stuff off of each other's faces on this show
Eat my sandwich you say? Well then, if I must....*gets on knees*
And this task is one of the reasons why this show wouldn't be possible here in Germany. I can't think of a single TV host who would allow himself to be ridiculed like that, all with completely stoic expression on his face.
Alex truly is wonderful
Stephen Fry has an excellent video on CZcams about the difference between British and American humor, with the main point being that British comedians are willing/eager to play the humiliated person, to reflect the absurdity of life or something.
Tl;dr: The british hero is a man who wants to make good in the world, but life shits on him from a horrific height.
Alex looked so proud when Noel said his beard tasted good.
I’m currently stuck in a loop of Taskmaster videos in my recommendation.
ʰᵉˡᵖ?
Same lol
You don't need help, you're in heaven
Enjoy mate.
Me too and i cant stop clicking them
watch different stuff?
Hue was last despite having an actual eatable sandwich compared to a mountain of bread and chocolate, not to mention half the task was who eats the most.
Edit: seems like Im one of a few who imagines exotic as still edible
Being edible made it less exotic.
Well he failed to eat 99% of the sandwich.
@@urbanhawk1 Alex said he ate the most out of all of them.
Yea. He really should have won.
Yeah, the fact Hugh made a sandwich with unusual ingredients that could conceivably sold in a high-end British supermarket suggests it fulfilled the task the best.
You finish your sandwich, Noel. Otherwise, no dessert!
Lmao it not that kind of show somebody in the comments said they wanted to be that type of show should I be scared or should he finish the sandwich
Noel: What are you???
Alex: An exotic sandwich...
: ”WHAT ARE YOU?”
: ”an idiot sandwich”
Mel brings me so much joy
Agreed! She has the perfect vibe for this programme.
“Then a kit-kat. Then a double decker “-
“Yam. Tequila “...🤣🤣
I'm late to this party, BUT that look at the camera at 9:30 about what has lead Alex to that point in time is a thing of beauty and hilarity. Never has abject horror and regret being immortalised so perfectly
"You had a lot of the bread, but not much of the filling." That cracks me up
In Noel's case, "eat your exotic sandwich" just took a whole new meaning after that dirty dance 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a shame he didn't get to do the exotic dance to that Joe Cocker classic, "You can leave your bread on"
The m&m up her nose killed me
When that M&M went up her nose, I fucking lost my shit.
Mel's recreation of the Augustus Gloop scene from Charlie and the Chocolate was inspiring!
Mel just looking at what she created after reading the second part out is why I love this show
90% of the reason I clicked was the thumbnail 👌
Edit: Video does not disappoint 😂🙌
I've seen this 80 times, still clicked for the nail
I'm reminded of Ze Frank's 'the world is a sandwich' project, where he had two people on opposite sides of the world put a piece of bread on the ground at the same time.
I'm having a heart attack just looking at Mel's sandwich.
I somehow developed Type Five Diabetes watching that. Skipped right over gestational, I'm aware a Type Four hasn't been identified yet, but skipped right to Five.
Id like to imagine James May on this challenge and him being the only one to complete it by making a normal sandwich
Oh my god Noel.
Without this channel I would've gone crazy in lockdown
In hindsight they should have gone for the Elvis. Peanutbutter, bannana, honey and bacon. Does not sound like something you'd want to eat but it really is.
Elvis's house use to be a restaurant and i use to order that
So good
That sounds delicious
To really sell the exotic part (because that Elvis sandwich sounds safe) add dried tomato, cream cheese, and frozen berry mix. I feel like that would sound out there but still good.
@@hiffahyphae6707 Dried tomato and a cream cheese / berry mix might be good enough to add to an IRL menu.
A major part of the fun when watching this show is trying to think how we would handle these tasks, ourselves. I'm still not sure what I would try to make.
"What are you?"
"AN IDIOT SANDWICH"
When Noel heard "exotic sandwich" he went straight to exotic dancers 😂
They could not have picked better music for when Mel is trying to eat her sandwich. This challenge was so brilliant.
8:37 is a beautiful moment
"What fucking Marks and Spencer do you go to" got me really good and idk why 🤣
The fact that Mel actually tried to eat her sandwich at the end just makes me laugh every time. Goodness, this show never ceases to amaze me.
I love that noel asks if Alex needs money or wants him to go with him 😆
I love how Mel was clearly having Bake Off withdrawal symptoms in this task when she constructed her sandwich! Had the taping not come after she concluded filming her final series of Bake Off, she probably would've constructed a more exotic and less abominable foodstuff, ahahaha!
Alex looks like a bread elf in the thumbnail... just thought i'd share that
My dyslexia acted up in the best way...
I read the title as "Make an Erotic Sandwich"...
Perfect thumbnail
I almost wept with laughter at the m&m up the nose 😂
What a delightfully ridiculous show this is.
I think Hugh got the short end of the stick on this one. His was the most exotic!
Depends how you define exotic. He had salmon (common), ham (common), pesto (common), avocado (common), and was that banana or cheese? Doesn't matter. Most of his ingredients were common individually, just odd put together. Though Hugh definitely got shafted here because that's also the same thing Joe and Lolly did.
he got deskied
Hugh got shafted a lot that season. I'm still upset about Greg's comments about his ringtone dance.
@@nommyyt I mean even Mel's was just common sweet stuff put together.
The taskmaster usually consistently picks on one contestant every season and it was Hugh for this season. Mark Watson, Phil Wang, Nitish, Paul (those two did it to themselves though) are others that come to mind for getting shafted for no reason
They should have shown all the building of the sandwiches and THEN show the reactions of the participants when they find out they have to eat their abominations. Here the crowd knows whats coming
I kind of like the way they crafted this. Show it on one person so you look at the other sandwiches and go "oh fuck, they have to eat this". That's what makes the reveal of Noel's so much better. You know what the second half is and so you know it's gonna be hilarious.
Yeah, I agree with @@trickytreyperfected1482. Knowing the second half of the task makes the whole entire experience of seeing the sandwich being made a glorious experience of wondering the entire time, "Oh boy, how bad of a situation are they gonna get themselves into 😈🙏😁!"
Noel's segment wouldn't have been half as funny without knowing he had to eat it.
This is my favorite show that I've never actually seen an episode of
You know, Alex is uh, he is a good man
My friend: LITTLE ALEX HORNE!
The amount of times a week I think about that "oh gang"...
I always love the follow up tasks 😂😂😂
One of my all time favorite shows. And I love Noel. So chaotic neutral on the show!
when the second envelope came out, I knew exactly what it was gonna say and I loved every moment of it.
3:16 i think i felt cavities forming in my teeth just looking at that
Noel, man... what a legend lol
Amazing how only one of them managed to make something that sort of resembles a sandwich
Alex losing it at 12:07 just gives me life.
Alex is the perfect sidekick/host to this
6:23 Joe Lycett's reponse is gold.
This got to be the best TV Show ive ever seen. Cant get enough of it :D
Mel channeled everything she learned from The Great British Baking Show and instantly regretted it.
That Salmon-Cured Ham Sandwich looked good. I wanted that one unironically
"What are you!"
"*An idiot sandwich*"
Well I would nibble on that
2:49 "Eat your exotic sandwich, Fastest WINS"
I THINK HUGH WON THIS
Holy... I just caught it after months of occasionally rewatching it. The tone Alex takes when he says that he says "can reveal that nobody FINISHED their sandwich". xD 4:29
I have never heard of Taskmaster before, and I must say, it's like Saw, but wholesome. Loving it.
Well.
My instinct upon hearing the first task was to gaffer tape one slice of bread on each side of the building and call that my sandwich.
I am still somewhat stumped as to how I would tackle the second task, however.
Eat all the edible food in the house?
I don’t know why these Taskmaster videos are popping up everywhere but I love it
This will always be my absolute favorite season
My head:
"What are you?"
"An idiot sandwich"
"WHAT ARE YOU?!"
"an exotic sandwich"
Just finished watching some ordinary sausage and thought I would have loved to see him do this as a special contestant for this part
