Now I want a Paper Luigi game where you go through what happens in Thousand Year Door. That whole 'accidentally frying your party member and that same party member staying around for the sole purpose of getting revenge' thing sounds amazing.

Now everyone is saying it's awfully underrated when actually I see everyone agree it was awesome. Not that I'm saying it's not, it's just that they keep saying that when everyone or at least the majority of Paper Mario fans enjoy it or praise it. I loved the game but I don't like when they say that.
@@jell-ofell-o5091 Well, it certainly was underrated for the longest time. For like a decade the public consensus was that it was bad just because it was different. You know the story: then sticker star comes out and everyone had to completely reevaluate each installment of the franchise.

As much as I love Bobbery's back story, Vivian's story of finding her own path and straying from her abusive sisters is one we get to see play out through the game until she becomes Mario's partner, and everyone seems to overlook it.

Average Paper Mario fan, only likes 2 games.
I like 4/5 of them, all for different reasons. The first 2 are, well, the first 2. The 3rd has a 100/10 story, and color splash has a lot of charm

It isn't. In the last few years, I've played RPG's that have handled aspects like story, characters, music, and exploration better. My top three are Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Persona 4, and while TTYD is fantastic, it doesn't come close to those three, in my opinion.

Well, SEGA is unpredictable, so at least their next game could possibly be good. We can't say the same thing about Nintendo, because when they fuck up, they use that same thing they fucked up on for the next game. So far, it seems to be happening to Color Splash.

I’m not a big rpg guy, but somehow Paper Mario TTYD is my fav game. All it takes for me is a bit more interactivity and a bit of creative tackling of old tropes, it seems.

Quite true you don't see a lot of heavy story or tragic tones in Mario games nowadays. Though I feel another tear jerking Mario game was Mario Galaxy, what with Rosalina's backstory and the hundreds of lumas sacrificing themselves to stop the giant black hole near the end of the game, and overall it was a very good-feel game with great epic orchestrated tunes. Really wish there was more depth like those certain special moments in today's Mario.
That's not to say I don't enjoy a more humourous and engaging story, I do! Love myself some funny writing and character interactions. More elements like that just need to blossom forth.

You know I feel like I've played TTYD so much, I've beaten it 7 times and 100% it twice. Whenever I hear other people talking about it, it feels kind of bittersweet; I am glad it is getting more attention, but at the same time I feel strangely spiteful like "You are a poser, you don't see it for it's full value" Idk anyone else feel similarly for a game they love?
I feel the same way about Super. Beat it 4 times and a in-progress 100% file. And I also would apreciate that more people knew this series and stayed forever with this series. I would truly wish...but thank you for that comment. See you in another time and place.
I understand you m8, I feel like that when people talk about Chrono Trigger, I've beaten it over thirty times (no kidding) over the last twelve years. First time was when I was eight and last time was a few weeks before my twentieth birthday like two months ago. Kinda wanna play it again.

I actually feel the same exact way about this game. This is my favorite game ever, yet people never even acknowledge it as even one of the best Mario RPGs. I feel like people who say they didn't like it or think Super Paper Mario is better are playing a different game. This game is perfectly balanced, had a beautiful story, awesome characters, amazing sidequest, and fun puzzles. How can people say this game isn't even close to one of the best RPGs of all time ?

Many people say you can't judge a book by its cover, and while its true for the most part, this looks exactly like Sticker Star. Only red Toads so far, same gameplay as Sticker Star, AND THAT GODDAMN FAN ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Also the white outline. Its stupid.

Im so happy you made this video. I had this game when i was like 12 but our house had gotten broken into and the gamecube and the game was stolen along with a few other things.
I've played pretty much every Mario RPG at some point or other and I gotta say, there's a certain feeling I get from PMTTYD that no other game in existence gives me. I love it!

Great episode, dude. I agree. This is one of my favorite games for the party members and the characters and everything. If Color Splash could just bring back a little of that I'd be thrilled.
My favorite game of all time...I can't help but fan-gasm over the game's simple and yet hilarious concept. The battles, the story, the items, the lands...EVERYTHING seems to just mesh so beautifully it hurts.
Even the humor...oh god, I loved it.
BTW...I quite literally never understood the joke behind the X-Nauts name until I actually sneezed...okay, on my part, that was even more funny than I imagined.

I was checking the CZcams channel of SonikDude101, a guy who's Spyro Let's Play I watched religiously maybe 5-6 years ago, and I was astonished to find that it led here! I've just gotta say that even though you've gotten much, much, better, I still find great enjoyment in that Spyro Let's Play. I had no idea watching this channel that it was actually the new channel for the first CZcamsr I'd ever watched!

I played this for the first time very recently, and the game is incredible except for the game's baffling obsession with pointless backtracking. It's like they felt the game they created was too good for the world to handle, so they had to make it worse before they could release it

In Sticker Star there were hearts scattered around the world in hidden locations or places that required thing stickers to access.When you grab one it increases your health and attack power.(Yes I have played Sticker Star)
Play the game only leveling up your badge point and the game becomes WAAAAY TOO EASY.

The riders for paper Mario are fantastic and I was a huge part of why I nearly instantly fell in love with the game on the Wii is extremely funny and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it in fact I look forward to playing it again someday even though I beat it

I actually grew to like it for what it was.
