Love this theme and this path. Melies is honestly such a charming character that working with him to become a Devil was hilariously fun. Devilishly charming, one might say.

Early Sunset was a good deal less thrilled with me, course that could be because I was a chaotic good bastard.

Yeah, that's the point of them - if you're not charming and you don't follow the law (ie. have some standards) you're a demon. Devils are much more dangerous than demons if played right.
Love everything about my playthrough of Devil! Can't wait to replay it in the, most likely, extended version in EE.
Dmitry took the Legend Path, so he multi classed himself to be Bard 20 and Sorcerer 20.

If this path was a complete path instead of a late-game one... it might be my favorite.

I found Regill to be the most unpredictable character, irnonically.
Awesome music, but it makes absolutely no sense for an Azata to fall and become a Devil, evil Azatas are Demons. Now, an Angel falling and becoming a Devil would make a lot more sense. You could even tie it into the whole "alliance with Hellknights" thing.
@@thisisaname5589 It's not it doesn't make sense, it's just a weird proposition in the first place to make an azata a devil lol Melies comes to you as an aeon because he loves how strict and adherent to the law you are, although I don't know what he says if you are an azata
@@CTC77 He pretends to be a full Azata, does a really bad job at pretending, and asks you to do ridiculous things that no Chaotic Good character would ever agree to.
@@CTC77 Him going to you as an Azata is just because the thought of the MC as an Azata is fucking terrifying to Hell. Most extraplanar things have rules they're forced to follow, this even applies to Azatas. They can't just roll into Hell like it's no big deal and do crazy things.
You however, are a mortal - something under no such rules of the universe - with power to rival some of the biggest bads around, on the route that absolutely WOULD roll into hell like it's no big deal and do crazy things. Him tempting you to being a Devil isn't necessarily a respect thing like with Aeon. It's a case of "We need this guy on our side"

I will never understand why they thought of making devil an Azata corruption path and not an Angel corruption path.
Like, hell is literally where fallen angels end up. Aeon I can understand, but I don't think anyone that chooses the path of faeries, friendship and good vibes would want to go evil.
Meanwhile a more lawful than good angel might get frustrated enough with the army of idiots the queen of idiots granted them to want to forsake everything and go with the only people that actually know what the fuck they are doing.

I know I am writing late but the things is devils dont hate angels that much because they are lawful creatures like them even though they are evil they stand for order but azatas on the other hand literally opposite of devils. Devils wants to enslave people(with contracts) and corrupt them but azatas stands for freedom and goodness literally natural enemy of devils kinda . That is why meph doesnt appear in angel run because he doesnt have that much problem with you but azata now he needs to be corrupted . his rise can cause problems for devils because his ideals literally opposite of devils principles .
I have to say I love the constant tempo in the background amidst all the relentless infernal orchestra stuff. Really conveys the ordered ruthlessness of Hell.
All Lawful paths have a tempo of sorts. Angel and Devil tempos are also unusually similar, befitting their history. I always say, Silantyev outdid himself with these.
One short year and the face of the Crusades have changed. A humble mace wielding priest from Cheliax was given mythic power by the eruption of a Wardstone. She embraced the truths of iron discipline and extreme law and order, styling herself as a cosmic judge, while a black armored gnome and a fire crowned outsider helped her reforge the armies of the Crusades. Now after her heroic return from the Abyss, and her pact with Mephistopheles, the Crusaders march in steady lockstep, the adamantine glint of the hellknights overpowering finally the silver glints of the Iomedeans. The grownups have taken charge now, and the battle against the Abyss rests upon a wall of black shields all bearing a red Pentagram. Erinyes circle in the sky, and row after row of mortals marches towards their final battle. The demons break like a wave over the once disordered and reckless mortals, but this time they hold fast. Their elite archers sweep away the tide of the Abyss, and the black-armored cavalry carefully held in reserve launches the final blow. And the commander stands there, in the front rank of the shield wall, her new diabolical features and capacity to split endless hellfire anchoring the most endangered flank of this army. There is no breaking, it is not a possibility. The demons scream as the inexorable iron boots crush them to dust. Hell marches where Heaven fears to tread and before the might of Asmodeus chaos crumbles.
That last line was so fucking raw I nearly got food poisoning from it. Damn.
Order without a shadow of weakness. Emotions are discarded, and logic and calculation have risen. Finally, everything is in its place, order is an end in itself.

As an Aeon. You have to love the audacity of this guy when he walks down the hall with his epic fucking theme and his full gear with wings and all on display.
I still choose True Aeon over Devil everytime but oh man... I love Mel and his theme so much!
Azata or Aeon corruption is an awesome idea but I do think there should have been a path where you could pick this mythic path right away
There's absolutely no fucking way in hell I could possibly turn my back on Aru and Aivu.... Now on an Aeon run on the other hand....
I don't quite think you should be able to pick it right away, as devil as a corruption path is quite interesting (just like dragon would be really more interesting if it was the opposite, a path of redemption intended only for those hat chose evil path at first), but I think that two things should be changed about it. It should also exist in the angel path, so that all three (possibly) good path get to experience the corruption, and if you go along with mephisto advice, he should give you more special devil quest before he reveal himself as a devil and offer you the path, that way you'd get to experience more of the "devil path" while still "switching" to it quite late.
Angel should most definitely have a corruption path to Devil. Hell, Lawful Angel is awfully close to Hell's Fury as is. Do I need to draw everything? ;)

The Devil Mythic Path should have been very unique in that you can select it at the end of Act II like the other paths, but there should have always be an option or opportunity for Hell to corrupt you in every Mythic Path. It would have really cemented the fact that Hell is just as antagonistic or evil as the Abyss but much more subtle about it. Oh man, I see so much lost potential, I almost want to write a dissertation about how the Devil Mythic Path can be improved. Azata too, it's good enough as it is now, but definitely can be made even better too.
With the enhance edition, all I can say is

The song that might as well be called "To Break Your Dragon's Heart." Truly a monstrous path if you start out Azata (though not as monstrous as the swarm).

@@chazzwozzio Deskari is considered an abomination even among demons ( Same goes for Revagug). So yeah, Swarm that Walks is the most abominable path in the game. It makes Demon and Lich look tame in comparison.
@@raveshaw6161 Well, Devil is a rational form of Aeon, as it is presented in the game. You get all the benefits and your Kingdom etc. Aeon -> Devil is truly epic. Azata -> Devil is ... why? Omg! Couldn't they make Angel corruption instead(wonder whether he'd keep the Merged Spellbook ... maybe that's the reason why there's no Angel -> Devil)? Angel of Justice -> Devil would've been so epic, so fitting!
This one is so underrated cause not many people ran into it in game.
Honestly with the exception of Legend and maybe Swarm, the advanced paths would have worked better if they were also starting path choices. They're great now but the content would be better if you could lean into them from the start.
I'd of course like more paths but who wouldn't?
On my personal wishlist would be
Lawful Good: Angel/Archon, Gold Dragon
Neutral Good: Agathion, Occult Dragon
Chaotic Good: Azata, Djinn
Lawful Neutral: Aeon, Technology
True Neutral: Psychopomp, Elder Mythos (Yog-Sothoth cares not for your concepts of morality)
Chaotic Neutral: Trickster, Protean
Lawful Evil: Lich, Devil
Neutral Evil: Swarm, Daemon
Chaotic Evil: Demon, Qlippoth
Any alignment: Legend, Green Power (the power of Nature, raw and unfiltered for people who want to be a druid without being a druid or be a super druid)
I also just really want to hear what Dmitry would compose for Abaddon.
@@DerangedGodOfMischief I think we have enough mythic paths. Too many options would just muddle things too much, and would most likely mean even more of these paths would have less options. Personally I would love for Devil to be a starting path, but I'm currently enjoying Aeon.....even though that damn mirror called me a cornered rat only looking out for profit.
@@DerangedGodOfMischief I'd like to see some sort of ancient vampire evil route. Pathfinder has elder vampires that are pretty damn up there power wise, they could be an interesting alternative to the Lich's undead style.

While I still stand by the Aeon theme being the best song on the soundtrack, I do have to say that the drop at 0:35 goes so frickin hard. Excellent job with the song overall.

I actually really like how they did the azata to devil story arc, your slowly convinced over time that the free crusaders are a mess. and that the crusade needs order and dicipline,

My opinion is probably worthless... but you are skilled and gifted. Truly. I hope someone in hollywood notices you because you and all the team that made the music for Wrath of the Righteous made really an outstanding job. You really created one of the best sountracks i have ever heart, and i am not saying this as an hyperbole. Great work and i am happy to have had the pleasure of listening to what you have created.

It's a shame that a Daemonic path for the Neutral Evil forces of Abaddon was never added because I'd really, really like to hear your take on the Plane of the Apocalypse and the Daemons who rule it Dmitry.
An Agathion/Nirvana/NG path is also missing, the Swarm and Lich are NE while the Gold Dragon is NG but those are still limiting.
Devil also for me felt very barebones, even when compared to the other late paths. It's a shame because I really like the idea of being a devil.

The soundtrack for the first game was already good. I'd say one of the best things about it even. This soundtrack just slaps it out of the room though! I love this OST and hope you guys make more Pathfinder games! 2nd ed PF sucks so hard!
