  • Moza Racing has come onto the sim racing scene with a ton of new products. At first this was the super high end only, but since then they have focused on the mid level market of sim racing.
    The SRP Pedals from Moza are a very budget oriented load cell based pedal set that gives sim racers a new option for affordable gear at their feet. Teh pedals come in a F1 style with 2 pedals or as a 3 pedal set including the clutch.
    In this video Shaun Cole of The Simpit unboxes these new pedals and builds them right there on the spot. With the pedal assembled we can take a first look at them and see How the look, how their made and how they operate

    Interesting that their two-pedal configuration includes the load cell, so you're not forced to buy all three pedals if you just want a throttle pedal and load cell brake. I can't think of any competing product that does this...they all come with the "cheapo" brake as standard which then becomes the clutch once you pay extra for the load cell brake. This could be a smart move on Moza's part.

    I like this process. Being able to see a (somewhat) brief video to see product details and an overview of what it is/how it's designed, without 30 more minutes of software/sim testing. I approve! 😆

    Another Australian here. I bought the Moza R9, CS wheel, GS wheel and SRP pedals with clutch and accessory kit (order the accessory kit if you get the SRP pedals even if you think you could live without it its only $15 but to order it separately later the shipping alone costs 4-5 times that) and ive used a csl dd 8 nm and csl lc pedals at my friends place and he's used my setup at mine (both on the gt omega prime cockpit) I'd say for someone who came from a g27 (me) and a thrustmaster t150 (my friend) the differences in the Moza and Fanatec are extremely subtle personally i prefer my R9 and my friend prefers his dd but that could come down to familiarity i prefer the stiff out of the box feel of the csl lc brake over the 2 stage feel of the srp as i play alot of f1 but also i feel the 2 stages of braking resistance out of the box are too pronounced and sudden the spring is just too soft for the elastomer id prefer a more gradual build up in force but i prefer the srps final configuration and customisability without having to go aftermarket over the csl brakes one size fits all approach unless you get aftermarket mods my friend agrees with me on that also but the reason i decided to go the Moza way in the end is explained down at the bottom of this comment
    At 16:40 thats not flex i checked that when my srps showed up and if you look closely its just pivoting on the hinge even when stomping on it forcefully i couldn't see any flex
    Also watch OC Racing's comparison of the Moza R9 and Fanatec CSL DD for a detailed back to back
    I aswell as a friend of mine both at the same time at launch (within an hour of each other) bought the csl dd 8nm along side a bunch of bits and pieces from their ecosystem my friend received his dd about 2 months or so later which made me check the progress on mine and noticed it hadn't even been shipped so i got in contact with fanatec to enquire as to where it was and they did some checks, got back to me and found there was a mess up and my order was never processed they apologized and said they'd fix it right away later that week however i got notified that my csl dd was in backorder until Dec 2021 at that point i was pissed off because my friend already had his and now i wasn't getting mine for another couple months so dec rolls round and a few days before the expected shipping date in dec i get another email i thought oww nice its shipped upon reading however im annoyed to discover its a further months delay this goes on for the following few months pissing me further and further off as i saw more and more people both on youtube and around my local area beginning to get their gt dd pros and i haven't even gotten the csl dd i ordered almost a year ago i finally pulled the pin in February once i discovered i wouldn't be getting it until july this year at least but it was the conversation i had with tech support that put me off fanatec so the way fanatec rolled out the csl in the pre order phase was in three stages if you purchased before a certain cut off date it came by a certain deadline they did that 3 times my friend and i both ordered well and truly in stage 1 however because my order got fucked mine was updated to being placed in stage 3 thats absolutely unacceptable

    Between this and the CSL pedals, I find these to be more attractive. Some things I would like to see are, spacers to bring the pedals away from the pedal arms and maybe to angle them. Inversion kit, and pedal feel mods (similar to what 3DRap did with the CSL pedals).

      I'm looking forward to using my R9 for oval racing when it arrives. I plan to use a Fanatec NASCAR wheel rim bolted to an extra quick release hub I ordered. Should be a great step up from my G920 that I've had for 4 years

    A little disappointed with the lack of hardness options on the brakes. If you're racing open wheelers, you might not want a 2 stage brake,

    • @mArvAlcao71
      @mArvAlcao71 Před rokem

      True, I wish they include few springs like the T-LCM.
      What i found funny is some people who own the CSL pedals replace some of the elastomers/bushings with a spring so they could get some travel on the brake pedal and threw away some of the stiffness, And Moza thought they did just that

    • @lawrenegummy4736
      @lawrenegummy4736 Před rokem

      @@mArvAlcao71 Agreed. Many people keep saying that stiff springs with no preload stage are unrealistic but most GT cars and F1 cars simply do not have a preload stage.
      Considering how GT3 cars and Formula cars are the bread and butter of simracing, I don't really understand why Moza would make their brake behave travel like a road car instead of giving us the option to make it behave more like a racing car's brake.

      The product page says it comes with two different springs yet I only saw one in this unboxing?
      from the product page: "The MOZA SR-P pedals come with an accessory kit, including 2 springs and 1 damper, which together with the original spring and damper could create 6 different foot feel combinations. The springs and damper in the accessory kit could increase damping and shorten braking distance to meet the needs of pro racers."

    They don't even include mounting bolts to attach to a rig? LMAO Just like the cheaper rim with an off center stripe, quality is in question from these guys. I also question the use of foam on the heel plate, so once that wears the plate gonna start bending side to side? Price seems fair at $218 for a three pedal set. I'll stick with my Fanatec for now.

    • @TheSimpit
      @TheSimpit  Před rokem +1

      They do include 4 mounting bolts. Because of the heel plate angles, I believe the foam under the heel plate is there is to stop dust and dirt from getting under the heel plate
