    Frank, balancing a boat is important not only in a small boat but in larger ones also. Many large boats have capsized due to an unbalanced load. I fish in my Twin Troller but have guided in bass boats and pontoon boats and was a Captain in large 18-passenger airboats. It does not make any difference the size of the boat, they all need to be balanced with gear and passengers or they will not run well and can be dangerous. If you want to see how dangerous, just try leaning a little in an unbalanced kayak. Splish, splash, you will be taking a bath. 💦 Good video. Gerry

    Important to disclose the boat is very heavy to launch/handle without a trailer.

    My Twin Troller should be here in a week. I live on the bank of an almost 5,000 acre Missouri reservoir. I used to have another small two-man boat years ago. It had a 2 horse, Yamaha. I found that I never used it. So this time I am going with the extra-large 29 series deep cycle battery. Both ends of my reservoir have good fishing. I'll just fish one end, then load it up on my AlumaLite tilt triller and fish the other end. That way no worries about winterizing a gas motor either! : )

    i had no idea i'd be interested in this until after watching, great vid with great info!
    i know the troller he's showing he mentioned for ponds and smaller bodies of water mostly but would it be suitable for use on a river? i'm right on the columbia river and am worried that some of the wakes left by larger shipping vessels might be... dangerous, but it would be fantastic for trolling through the reeds near the shore and sounds like tons of fun!

    • @TwinTroller
      @TwinTroller  Před 5 lety +1

      Our owners use their Twin Troller X10 in all types of bodies of water. Of course their focus is what we like to call small and protected waters. Large bodies of water are great places to places to use the boat so long as you focus on your surroundings. That being said we can not comment on any specific body of water or water conditions, but in general the Twin Troller does an excellent job handling waves, wakes, etc.

      @@TwinTroller that actually is pretty much what i was interested to know, thanks for the response. Sounds like as long as I properly balance any load on board and pay attention i can avoid fishing for my own tacklebox~

    Will not a 100ah lithium battery satisfy the needs of the twin trollers ? they are much liter then a deep cycle lead.

      @mrtilley66 Před 5 lety +2

      Manvet 67 I have a battle born 100 ah lithium battery in my X10 I fish inshore salt marsh almost every day it starts out at full charge 13.2 volts after 4or5 hr of fishing it will still show 12.8 or better on most days I don't use my gas motor very often only the electric and it only weights 29lb. my suzuki 2.5 is 30lb so the 2 weigh less than 1 reg. batt.

    I am a beginner angler and I am even newer to boating. Getting one of your boats isn’t in the cards for me financially right now but I am just trying to understand the advantages of the twin troller over a 1448 Jon boat with a foot controlled trolling motor on the front. Is the stability better in a twin troller? Is a Jon boat more limited in the waters that it can access(IE can the twin troller go shallower)?
    I hope these questions aren’t coming off as negative I have read some passionate comments on other videos (haha). This is the coolest boat I have ever seen and I see advantages compared to kayaks and canoes but was just wondering what your or other TT owners opinions were. Again I’m just interested in learning not hating on the product ... if there was another giveaway I would sign up in a heartbeat.

    • @TwinTroller
      @TwinTroller  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey James, Sorry for being a little slow with our reply. Every boat has it's trade offs, but in small fishing boats the Twin Troller has several advantages over other options on the market.
      - Smaller Jon boats tend to be much less stable and therefore you have to set lower in the boat which then results in a less comfortable, and enjoyable, time on the water.
      - When under power, no other boat on the market has a shallower draft then the Twin Troller. Depending on the load the Twin Troller has a draft of 6 - 8 inches while under power with nothing under the boat for you to worry about running into thing with.
      - Lastly the controller point of a boat is very important. With Twin Troller the controller point is in the center of the boat, while with a set-up like you mention the controller point is at the bow of the boat which leaves the back of the boat under control of the winds or currents.
      Hope this helps, and that you make the decision to join our growing owners group.
      Regards and Tight Lines, Frank

    Don't forget guys.......when using an outboard & fishing by yourself, a handle extension on the tiller handle of the outboard balances the boat much better while running the outboard vs no tiller handle extension. I truly believe it is also far less stress on the props & shafts of the twin trolling motor heads while running the gas outboard, because with the tiller handle extension, those twin electric motors are near LEVEL as water is being forced past them. If the boat is angled backwards while running the outboard, the twin trolling motor props & shafts would be receiving more strain at the bottom side of the props, not level, and will create more drag under there as well. They are more stream-lined under water when they are level or near level. So I'm personally convinced that a tiller handle extension improves operation & performance, balance, and durability......all working together with a handle extension. Keep in mind, where I fish, I HAVE TO use an outboard to travel long distances ( 6 to 7 miles 1 way ) to get to my fishing areas, during every fishing trip. Of course once I arrive there, I begin using my twin electrics to fish and meander around in the massive stump fields & grass lines. ( Stick Marsh/Farm 13 ).....In over 2 years of fishing my Twin Troller, I have YET to see a single kayak way down there.........6 to 7 miles from the ramp. It's simply way too far for the kayaks to go. Even if they tried, they would be too tired & worn out TO FISH.......and then they have to face that loooong trip back to the ramp. I love my Twin Troller. ;o)............Steve, Melbourne, Fl......
