I ordered my TT last week and have already received my dolly, live well and cover. I purchased from E trailer the larger version of the C E Smith Trailer the Plus model plus has the 12 inch tires and the 2 ft longer tongue. That will keep my vehicle from having to get so close to the water. Can not wait for the boat.
That is great! you will be glad you ordered a longer trailer tongue. I had one of the small C.E. Smith in a box trailer a couple of years ago I bought for a Jon boat. It was just too small to launch in shallow water, mud and weeds. I hope you enjoy your new boat.
I really like my Twin Toller it is a lot of fun to fish in.

I actually had an old boat trailer but thought it to big when I ordered my TT and trailer. I am considering making my trailer tongue a few feet longer to keep me out of the water when I launch it. You did a great job and thanks.
It is worth the extra money to extend the tongue on your trailer. It will make the launching and loading of your boat much easier by allowing you to reach deeper water.
When the water is shallow or the banks are muddy and full of weeds, most of the time you can get your boat past these while walking on your trailer without having to walk in the water or mud.

Great video, Mr Gooch. The practical need for a boat with a longer trailer tongue has been discussed before amongst Twin Troller owner on CZcams. Your solution here is great. I wish that Load Rite had a dealer network that extended to the Pacific North West. Thanks for the videos.

I had a small boat trailer just like the C.E.Smith shown with the Twin Troller. I almost always had to walk in the water or back my vehicle into the water and mud to launch or load my boat. I believe you can order a tongue extension from C.E. Smith that will fit the trailer that is offered with the Twin Troller package.

Were your U bolts the same diameter of the grooves in the bracket or did you just use a big washer
The U Bolts are just a little smaller than the grooves. Washers are used to reinforce the pressure of the nut against the bracket.

Norman, I'm modifying a trailer and l question at what location should the bunks be on the boat?
3 keels and 2 pontoon.

What i meant to say was when I place the bunks at 10½" the twin troller outside keels rested on the bunks (2x4). Is this the correct contact point for the bottom of the TT?

The bunk boards should rest between the pontoons and be adjusted so the bunk boards do not rub against the side of the pontoons. It's ok if the bunk boards rest on parts of the keel. If you prefer, you can move the bunks closer together so they will lay flat off of the inside keels, however, it makes the boat more unsteady when trailering with extra side-to-side movements due to the lack of support on each side of the boat.
I tried it both ways and the 10 1/2" spacing seems to be the best placement for stabilizing the boat on the trailer.
