- Czech President Petr Pavel says NATO's July summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, should offer Ukraine "clear language" about its future membership in the military alliance once the conflict with Russia is over.

@@decaesaris5093 Thats not true. You had to join the party if you wanted to be in top leader positions, if you were a carrierist. That being said the year 1985 tells everything, this was the era when first signs of collapse was visible. Also its a middle finger to the Prague springs event. If sb solds out his country for soviet occupiation and even to protect communism the best way to remake his carrier to be the perfect vassal of the next ruler. This guy would run again as next president if Russia would invade the Czech Rep. A second time.

President Pavel reviewed the counter offensive plan in May with President Zelenskii. At the time President Pavel wasn't convinced it would work.They worked on it some more and he then said it has a great probability of success. President Pavel is a former NATO chief, strategist and advisor...

Clear language on the membership? NO WAY. THEY WILL NEVER BE MEMBERS. Is that clear enough?
NATO should be about mantaining the security of its members - not jeopardising that security for the sake of non-members.
This war could have been avoided if:
(1) Ukraine had been allowed to purchase the weapons it wanted. (St Boris Johnson was one of those who stood in the way.)
(2) The USA - so vocal now - had put troops on the ground in Ukraine in places such as Kyiv and Odesa.
The security of NATO members? Russia is not a threat to them, but for the whole world. It's about time for Ukraine to join!

Starting an offensive by a calendar date is a recipe for disaster, you in fact want to start as early as possible but only when the critical mass of conditions are right and favorable.
