- Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, addresses the general debate of the 78th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (New York, 19 - 26 September 2023).
The UN General Assembly (UNGA) is the main policy-making organ of the Organization. Comprising all Member States, it provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the full spectrum of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations. Each of the 193 Member States of the United Nations has an equal vote.
The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945. Currently made up of 193 Member States, the UN and its work are guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter.
The UN has evolved over the years to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
But one thing has stayed the same: it remains the one place on Earth where all the world’s nations can gather together, discuss common problems, and find shared solutions that benefit all of humanity.

Great speech Mr. president! For the information: Petr Pavel is a former general and head of NATO military comitee. Maybe even more importantly, he is also the war hero: during war in former Yugoslavia, he led the group of Czechoslovak paratroopers on a mission to save 55 French soldiers stucked between two sides, under fire and with dead and wounded. That´s why he´s got one of the highest French miltary medals. He knew war very well...

Where were those russians that were "getting shelled and killed" for the past 9 years? Where are their public statements about these events for the past 9 years? Where is the combat footage? Where are their statements to the international court about the apparent war crimes from the past 9 years? That's right, nowhere. Because they don't exist.
Russia will happily deploy their military against any group of people wanting to split from them. They happily gas and shell their own civilians in hostage situations, because it's no longer a hostage situation if none of the hostages are alive.
You really think that russia gives two craps about their population? They don't, they never have. Unless it's a member of the oligarchy or one of the prominent moscow families, they couldn't care less if they freeze, starve or get killed.
If Doneck and Luhansk were really getting shelled for all that time, Russia would be screeching about it every single day about how evil the west is. They never did. Only now, to use it as a quasi justification for the invasion of Ukraine. "Oh, we have to invade Ukraine to create a perimeter that their artillery can't fire over to hit our citizens. But we will make a detour to capture all their deposits of natural gas and oil as well, which totally isn't the reason we invaded them in the first time."
This is just a repetition of what happened in Georgia. And Chechnya before that. Afghanistan before that and you can keep going back in history and pointing out Russia's expansionism and thirst for resources, with absolute disregard for human life.
Good now sum up some numbers. How many people did violently die during times of saddam daily?
then count people who died in Ukraine daily.
And still do not forget some western officials did apology for their role in invasion to Iraq because of pretext controversy
