When I started watching geowizard in 2016 I was amazed by how amazing this guy was. And well - he still is! A true legend who inspired many people to play this game so it became quite big!
i wish i started putting hours into the game when i started watching geowizard in late 2018
not many people did back then, it's hard to find many good clips from those days
@@zi8gzagthere was this guy who was crazy at Russia, cant remember his name tho I think he was/is Slovakian. He was the first player I watched where I genuinely realised how deep you could go into this game.

@@arpansarangi nope he was luckily mentioned in a sort of Geoguessr history video I watched a couple weeks ago. Granis was his name, he seemed like a proper beast for the time.

In 2019 I was playing a lot and got an insane guess in Montenegro, it was like 4km away with only trees and nothing else. I remember how good and satisfying it was, now that would be considered normality. Geoguessr community has grown so much since then it's insane
That's still pretty impressive dude don't rest on that guess. People like GeoStique and RC who are absolute psychos who memorized every rural road on the planet are definitely NOT the standard we should be setting
I've followed geoguessr on and off for the past ten years and now I am finally now getting into it myself. Learning different metas from yourself and some other sources I really feel like I'm standing on the shoulders of the giants that have come before me. I will never be as good as you guys but thanks to your hard work I am learning so much I never would have otherwise and that is what really makes it fun for me. So a big thanks to the whole lot of you for pioneering all this knowledge and creating the content!

Yea , the Blinky video is insane . To be able to 5k is super impressive but to do it that quick is just wild.
Man I remember when geoguesser was introduced to me back around 2015. I used to be thousands of miles away unless it was obvious. The fact these guys just know straight off the bat is so alien to me

In a recent video by GeoPasch (Brazilian), he was guessing stadiums worldwide. He had a round with Swedish language and knew nothing else so randomly plonked in Vasteras without any zooming and got the 5k.
For anyone curious, the video is titled "Tive muita sorte nessa rodada" (I got very lucky on this round) and it's at the 5 minute mark.

From my understanding they're content creators who make content that revolves around Geoguessr. They're not living off tournament prize money, salary from a team and sponsors like pro athletes/e-athletes. So yes, technically.
