- In this video, I'm back at it, trying to beat @GeoWizard's 10s NMPZ world record on the World map. Let's see what I can do with an hour of gameplay! Enjoy the video:)

I met a guy at a wedding last weekend and we realized we shared Geoguessr as a mutual interest. He pulled up CZcams and your channel was his top recommendation, which confirmed for me that he knew his stuff.
that’s so cool :D
@runwithjon I just picked my roommate for college and we both figured out we like geoguessr
I was waiting for the part where the guy was the groom and after meeting you he called off the wedding and you ran away together. Still cool though.
9:20 "GET IN!" Channeling GeoWizard......love it!
Just need to start singing 😆
Zi8gzag: Can I have the world record?
Random US suburb: no
Even though Geowizard is not an elite player in this insanely competitive world, I'm still happy that the original goat of this game is managing to hold a record like this.
As a lifelong geography nerd, I recently got into this game and also started a group of GeoGuessr players at work during downtime. I had seen a bunch of creators on YT in the last month as well, and you're at the top for me. On top of the obvious skill, you're fun, humble and just generally great to listen to. Keep up the good work, dude
thanks my friend:) good luck learning
8:45 "Valdivia" on the wall but Puerto Montt is close enough I guess xD
the laughing bin was so startling
That was so funny but so loud😭
12:58
seeing overland power / phone lines in a Germany round is WILD. we don't have these generally, usually everything is buried here. must be one of those exceptions that confirm the rule.
4:13 Bro the eiffel tower is litterally behind you 💀 I went there
13:07 that face had me dying lmao
still can’t believe how good someone can be in Geography😂
Love your videos
GET IN!
4:25 That area (the Cotswolds) is famous for that yellowish stone color
Zigzag! I've been watching Geoguessr streams for a while but just recently started playing myself. Enjoyed your "One Geoguessr Tip for EVERY Country in Europe" video, but as a possible content suggestion could you maybe do a focused guide on Southeast Europe? Everything between Italy and Greece seems to be very difficult to differentiate and in searching I've not found any good YT vids on the topic so there might be a video niche you could fill! :)
In greece the roads are very pale and have double white lines in the middle. Also a lot of tall wooden poles in greece.
noted. will drop some more tips videos soon
That region, or at least a large part of it, is called the Balkans. You're right, there doesn't seem to be any geoguessr tips video on the Balkans. I couldn't find any.
That Ohio round was WILD for me, I said "this looks like the area where I grew up, must be midwest somewhere," and then it was six streets over from my childhood house in good old Pickerington, Ohio
In GeoWizards video one of the locations in the first game is a place that I live insanely close to, and have went thousands of times as the sports club I used to play for is literally 50 meters away from the location.
When you made your name, did you know it was a type of clam?
@@Twisty543 i learned about 3 weeks after
Really liked this way of editing. Not too fast paced nor too slow. Thanks!
zi8zag I have been watching your geogueser videos from the beginning and just wanna say love your content!!
thanks sm dude
Dude you're actually getting so much better
At 2:20 i was like damn this looks like it could be 20 mins away from my house but nah never on Geoguessr 😂
The patchy roads, trees, ranch houses and that cobblestone is all very typical of the area.
8:46 that’s where my city knowledge comes in handy
i fw the lighting in the background
Damn Oscar you popped off in Rainbolt's newest vid man
In the UK when you see all stone houses like 4:23, Wales and mid/south west England (think Cotswolds) is always the best bet (you see it in scotland too but you should be able to discern the two situations)
I'm so sorry, but your descent into madness, especially when you say, "Why didn't I click Helsinki?" just has me rolling. I feel bad for finding humor in others' misery, but that was just too good not to find hilarious.
You'll get there soon, friend. You've got the skills and the knowledge. I believe in you!
It's because you weren't singing.
i love this series, glad its back! i read the title as "i STILL can't believe i beat geowizards record" and i got so excited xD
0:05 scared the shit outta me wtf LOL
3:17 ooh i live on the isle of wight!
The mayor of Linz has just announced that Oscar will become an honorary citizen
Zi8gZag upload huge W
You'll get it one day
15:26 Northeast Corridor my beloved
I had a video Idea, you could play geoguessr on the smallest phone or device you can find and see how well you'd still be able to play
congrats on 24.5k on NMPZ Terminus that shit was insane
Community challenges are awesome, and I did want to see you beat GeoWizard's WR but now I think this challenge is too meta heavy to be worthwhile.
2:35 - Ilkeston in Derbyshire, for the first time ever I can confidently say after watching many hours of your videos that I'd beaten your score (seeing as I been there before).
Man this mode is a brutal grind.. Im exhausted just watching
i feel your pain about the world map lol. it's a bit frustrating/repetitive most of the time, but at the same time it can bring up some really random/interesting locations here and there. it wouldn't be a shock that if you end up beating Tom's score it won't be by just a few points, rather something crazy like 24,9k + or so.
4:31 that’s pretty typical cotswald stone I think
As you said it, 14:16 If it's bilingual signs, it won't be Montréal as signs are only in French. Ottawa and other Ontario cities have bilingual signs
i love your videos!! do you have any tips for region guessing sweden? or differentiating norway and denmark? (except for the fact that denmark is way more flat)
11:07 soon as I saw that road I scream NEAR SKEGNESS I’ve been down that road so many times going from Sheffield to Skegness 🤣
The thing about this record is that when you have an excellent start with only 60 points lost, that's actually more than you can afford on average...
Get in!
Love this guy @
Oscar - if you're gonna guess in the U.S., you gotta pick a city at least.
well done!
More of this!!
It's always cool to see a game right near where you live. I'm in Vancouver and grew up very close to your guess there. I wonder if Tom laughed when you missed Birmingham? 😂
I had the same though, preceded by "Tom would have got that one" haha
Looking forward to seeing you perform at the World Cup again
you will get it i believe
3:39 wide front patios = Kansas/Nebraska
i like seeing the attempt videos, hope you continue. just don't put in more than an hour or two at a time hah
Wow, you put your pin point just a couple of blocks of my home in the Mar del Plata guess (Argentina) hahahaha
"same latitude" is the ultimate cope
I can confirm, even if I'm 4000km away I'll still take it as a semi good guess 😂
I really was hoping you’d actually spit out your water on that Switzerland guess😂 would have made an epic moment
I'm all in on watching this series until you get it
I love the editing on this video! And the slow descent imto madness whenever you were so close 😂 I'd love to see you beat the record one day, please keep trying 🙏🏻
Beating the world record or not, your scores are still inconceivable
U can beat whatever u want to dw goat
5:13 8:28 are those random rounds or "not what you think" rounds selected on purpose (the duels mode is full of them)?
Hey Zi8Zag you are my favorite geoguessr creator.
Hey zigzag im curious how you reset so quickly without going through any menus other than the first one? is it a script or something else :)
back macro button on my mouse :)

15:22 was 5 minutes from where I grew up 👀
I wanna see you beat him keep it up
I read that as “i wanna see you beat him up” and was like ???
@@pinkdragon4830well, it'd be a fun matchup
Couldn't believe how many random US places you got!! Not your lucky day for sure!
alas, this is a feature of the beautiful world map
Loveee
1:59 LMFAO
No link to Tom's WR vid????
GeoWizard is super impressive to me because he is really good at GeoGuessr, but I wouldn't consider him a "pro" as in putting in the same amount of research, effort, and time as the pros like you do.
I watched it 2 the end and I think u accidentally repeat the same thing twice. "Tune in next time guys and goodbye." 20:11
Till next time? Huh
Didn’t trulybuzzy end up beating it?
Me calling Coburg (I am from Melbourne)
im early again, less than 1 minute :)
Yeovil is pronounced "Yo-vil" - you usually put so much effort into pronunciations, I hope this is helpful 😊
from Japan❤
But is it actually GW's WR? Isn't it Boku's WR?
Boky got the world record on another world map
Only big countries like usa, uk,France, japan, etc…😩
ayoooo
I posted this under your previous Jake Lyons moving vid but too late for you to see it, so I'll try again here as I think it's worth a read:
In the Germany round at 21:20 it says the city name 'Rosenheim' on the glass of the bus stop which you looked at. The red 'Bierfest' poster on your screen which you completely ignored also had the Bavarian blue and white check pattern on its logo, which would have gotten you the correct state. You complained in that round that "I couldn't get to any info bro" - but all the info was there and you just didn't look enough at it.
In general your main flaw on Moving seems to be that you're so used to scanning for the metas, reading the vegetation and checking for the vibes that give you the answers on tricky rural NMPZ rounds (and tricky rural Moving rounds), that on more urban Moving rounds you ignore too much of the text on posters/shop signs/side of vans/bus stops/road signs etc. which can actually tell you EXACTLY where the location is without having to use any metas or get a read on the vegetation etc. You should be trying to read basically every poster/shop sign/van/public transport etc. that's there as they so often have the address.
I think you need to find a flick in your mindset that whenever you land on more urban (or motorway) Moving rounds you switch from the mode of being mostly interested in all the NMPZ meta and vegetation recognition, to quickly trying to scan as many signs and read as much text and logos as you can find; and on Motorways don't ignore the possibility for road signs nearby. Of course use all the meta/vegetation/geography stuff to support your guess as well, and quick guessing based on the NMPZ metas on Moving rounds can be a very good tactic on more rural rounds as Shinji showed in the World Cup, but Jake seems to manage to beat you more often here mainly because he just finds and reads the signs quicker and then 5ks (which in some ways is less difficult than the recognition skills you use to win on NMPZ). In the World Cup you can't just hope for always getting rural Moving rounds in the Multis which you can quickly guess on and the opponent can't 5k.
I know your internet connection doesn't help, but maybe just practise Moving rounds whereby you scan to find clues to the place name quickly on signs, but without giving yourself a set time limit so there's not as much pressure on your laggy internet and figure out how long it would take you in a tournament with better internet. Also, my gut instinct from watching these games is that insta-sending on more urban Moving rounds will still typically result in you losing those rounds, as the chance of finding signage in the extra 15 seconds the opponent has seems too high. But it might be useful to calculate exactly how many seconds it on typically takes the top players to find the signage to 5k on urban Moving rounds, so you can calculate exactly how beneficial or not it is for you to insta-guess and how many seconds you can take before sending.
"yee-oh-vil" lol. Just so you know it's pronounced "Yo-vil" 😁
Your best Austria NMPZ player ever. 3 Absolute insane guesses there
Der Disrespekt in calling 🇦🇺 ,,Austria"
for whatever reason 90% of the Austria rounds on World map are Linz or Wien. Contrariwise, Germany is almost always rural.
@lightninghuff he probably meant that zi8gzag has the best guesses in Austrian locations
hiiiii
Yay first
This video had some bad editing, like at 11:35 you explained something that we couldn't see as it was cut out I guess.
Love da vids man
W vid keep it up
