Stop punching down on the royal family hahahahaha

đđ
As someone from a country where we, for some reason, also have a royal family, I can say the British obsession's is very odd. In Denmark most people are much more casual about it. Honestly I see the royals in Denmark as nothing more than a walking commercial for our country...Oh and Mary is from Australia which I guess makes Aussies slightly interested in our small part of the world :P

People's pride. They somehow think the world revolves around them?
Comedians are suppose to be able to attack the establishment. We need it in a successful society. Offend away and keep away the fun police.
That's why there is an attack on them. That's why there have been attacks on many areas of freedom of expression. There is a concerted effort driven by whatever forces that has used the power of social media to slowly erode the foundations of freedom of expression and, as we have all seen, it kicked up several notches a few years back. The masses don't care about being offended - mostly only people hoodwinked by those of nefarious conscience and dubious morality who use it to further their own agenda of weakening the power of the people.
Not everyone is an anarquist lol
Comedians are just DnD Bards.
the guy at the end has a great point, people need to stop spending time looking to get offended by something

5:19 Love the transition into 'BAD JOKE' after they played the video. Clearly unbiased media đđ
ABC and SBS are some of the most biased left wing media in the country.
Iâm pretty sure that was the episodeâs title
To see Lewis explain why humor and laughing is important and why comedy like any other artform should push the boundary is just inspiring.
Just wanted so say so proud of you Lewis.

Okay mom
6:40 - Spot on Lewis. Really good speech, itâs so true.
I'm really glad to hear that you found their editing fair. That's actually surprising
Yeah đ
I do appreciate that the SBS show you went on did allowed people to take a moment and voice their opinion.
Is it strange that I find this rare on television?
not strange, mainstream media only allows "the right opinion"
insight has delivered some absolutely terrific content over the years. usually starts with an interesting topic/question, raises (or echoes) some intriguing opinions/angles of thought and provides an open forum to talk about them.
i remember a really good one back when voluntary assisted dying was being introduced in australia and hearing doctors of various opinions discuss the ethics of it with each other
It's pretty rare as Australian news/shows usually lean hard on one view and won't let the "evil enemy" share their thoughts. They'll mock them or shout over them. But variety is the spice of life and you never change perspective if you don't sit down and listen to different views. Even if you H A T E someone else's views if you allow them to speak and listen you can maybe challenge it if you treat them with respect.
I liked how unprofessional you were, it made you look very genuine and showed a lot of personality.
I burst out laughing when you started dropping jokes about boomers in a room full of completely serious people hahahaha
Need a law that states you always allowed to record footage of interviews you are personally in even on network television. So when they cut things out, you can upload the uncut content to prevent being taken out of context.

yeah that just sounds like a poorly thought out format on their part
I love how the media outcry of this joke is the reason newer versions of it are so funny.
BRO THIS MAN IS SUCH A CHAD
Oh come on sbs is more than that ... back in the day it was the only place a kid could go to see a french movie about a young man's obsession in getting breast milk projectile streamed into his mouth, or a Czech film about a young man needing to "fuck the world" ... in the dialup days sbs was all we had!! Have some respect lol
"I didn't know I was above Prince Phillip."
Give or take about 6 feet and then some.
Ngl Prince Phillip would probably have found that joke funny
As a brit myself, that Prince Phillip joke was hilarious. Never appologise for being funny
8:01 Lewis mate, what you gotta understand, is in a situation like that, when the room of 40 people aren't laughing at all, there's about 50,000 people watching online who are laughing their asses off. Remember that man.
Its great you still have time to support Lewis, must be busy times for you.
Never be sorry for that joke, if anyone can have a joke about them when they've just died its Prince Philip, he unfortunately considered himself something of a comedian (but on the receiving was just racist jabs to the people he made the comments too), the one thing I did hear about Phillip that made me nod my head in kudos acknowledgement was apparently he did not want a big fuss made about his funeral, he wanted it as low-key as possible and I do respect that. But if someone is a comedian like yourself than you or they should be able to make a joke about Prince Philip even if he has just died (and been expected to for a while due his impressive longevity)
Phillip probably wouldâve laughed at those jokes anyway.
philip was the type of guy to laugh at jokes like this anyway. He was a lad unlike the other royals
Philip had a sense of humour and could take as well as dish out the jokes, unlike those getting offended on behalf of a man who likely didn't give af about being PC
My cancer found this hilarious.
You handled yourself incredibly well, my wife is an Aussie and we laughed and support you!
âLetâs see if I can go 2 for 2â
Welp he did it
IF a comedian ever apologizes for a joke it should only be to the person who was the butt of the joke, and only done in a private scenario to ensure itâs a personal apology not one demanded by peer pressure.
Humor is part of the healing process. The MSM are just insufferable.
before all the covid stuff, you replied to a comment of mime indicating that you'd be coming to the UK to do some shows. is this still a possibility? been a fan since Philip defiance shouted our your anti vax rally video like 5 years ago, would love to see ya show in the flesh. cheers for another fucking hilarious vid Lewis
As someone who is what some would call a "libtard" I'm non-binary, asexual, and on the Autism spectrum, I am also someone who doesn't find crude or edgy humour funny while also finding Lewis's comedy absolutely hilarious despite this. I hate it when people are just generally horrible people, but free speech allows us to expose horrible people and creates discussions. A society in which objectively terrible people are allowed to express their views is a society in which we can put those views under the microscope, analyse them, and realise that they are in fact wrong. Freedom of speech allows racists to be racist. But it also allows their victims to speak out against them, and allows us as a society to realise that racism is inherently wrong. Comedy is the catalyst for this change, because it allows all of these subjects to be brought to light in a manner that brings joy and laughter, letting the concepts be discussed in finer depth without becoming too much to bear. Comedians don't make light of issues. They create the illusion that the water is shallower then it really is, forcing us to swim all the way to the bottom.
I love Atmal's comments. Thank you for including them and closing with that. It truly captures the power of free speech and why it is so important.
Lewis, you are a legend.
Your answers to these questions are EXCELLENT
So glad I found your channel on here, I love watching the pranks and bits. You are a great comedian with many big moments to come
Im honestly relieved that there are still a few comedians out there who aren't afraid to cross the line. Like Lewis said, if people don't cross the line with jokes then humour just becomes boring.
Also as a British person, I loved your Prince Philip jokes last year, absolutely hilarious ahaha
Makes you feel better I laughed at the death threat joke.
If he can make 1 person sad and make million people happy is worth the price
I showed my grandad the prince Philip video. He thought it was hilarious.
His wife, who's a royal stan, spent the whole video giving us dirty looks.
So proud to have seen this success happen over the years. I may not have had the money to help but I do my best to like every video and watch all the way through. Keep it up buddy, and keep comedy alive!

I always get in trouble with my group of friends because I say jokes about the LGBT and Minorities(I am one) and I always tell them I won't apologize, my jokes are meant to make people laugh and make things that are scary not scary. Its like he said in the video, Humor is a great thing, it can make overcoming something that much easier because you can do it with a smile.
If you repeatedly get in trouble rather than laughs, maybe you're not funny like you think you are
Good on you, Lewis! One minor correction (also just taking the opportunity to plug a great film): We are not the only species that can laugh, which I think shows laughter to be even MORE important, because it's actually rooted in our biology (and the biology of many other species).
There's a great documentary on laughter called "Jimmy Carr and the Science of Laughter", if you're interested in the topic (or if you just like Jimmy Carr).
That was fantastic. I loved it.
you are a gift to this planet in the best worst way possible.
I think lewis spears is one of the most decent comedians out there, not referring to humour (even considering how funny he is.) But he's thinking that he's rude if he doesn't look back, slipping dark jokes in without targeting any demographic and instead focusing on individuals that wouldn't care or deserve the treatment. Despite what he says, I think he's what all comedians should strive for.
I was actually in quite the pit of thinking, falling down roads like genuinely thinking steven crowder was funny before friendlyjordies and lewis. If ya read this, thank you for making me a far better person lewis, you've done more for me personally than any of those that would call you a pest.
