Phil Heath is so talkative. Ears are in pain now
above his work - hes smart af
Let people talk when you invite them...you talk more than the person who is supposed to speak.
I don`t think the average person comprehends the psychotic effort it takes to be an elite bodybuilder. It`s not just the insane painful hours in the gym, but the equally hard dieting and resting the sport demands and the food expense. And you also have to become an expert in understanding your body and how it responds to particular methods of training and pretty much conducting a scientific experiment . I see bodybuilders as painters with dumbbells creating the perfect art work with their body. I have tremendous respect for them, they sacrifice so much.
I agree. Send Phil a tweet and let him know that.
I've met one female and male bodybuilder and their discipline is has dropping. You're so right.
Man but when you get burned out & stop. The results drop away rapidly. It is heartbreaking
Owesome Music 💯
Discipline yes, but the most selfish, lonely, egocentric, narcissistic activity ( yes as it is not a sport!) not to mention the `chemical` side of it which is a clear indication of drug addiction & not being right in the head! WOW, I so look up to these people...
I had an amazing time sharing space with Patrick and his film crew. I am currently writing my "Weekly Thoughts" as many have responded to your challenge of me to make it so. Thank you all for watching and I hope that you all continue to train hard, train smart and of course have some damn fun!
You are 🤡
phil.... this was an amazing interview with you, a great sportsman! you are a inspiration for every bodybuilder in any age. discipline, work ethic, smart and gentle behaviour.
all the best from cologne, germany!
arthur brehm
This podcast deserves much more views and respect.
I’ve followed your bodybuilding for years but never knew how intelligent and individual and the ideas knocking about up in the head of the champ
It is so easy to blame people of using steroids. But what we some times oversee is this man's mindset, work ethic and discipline! 💪🔥
Andreas Neophytou people love to be dismissive for stuff they can't do. You're buff? Steroids. You're rich? Crook. You're beautiful? You're dumb/had surgery. It's sad. The disgusting remarks about women bodybuilders is sad. They dismiss them as ugly. Never mind how intense they work out and how disciplined they are.
True, theres no doubt, and sometimes its illogical to yell out "STEROIDS", IFBB Pros will certainly use Anabolics. Its just those people who have zero knowledge of the bodybuilding industry that are oblivious. Phil Heath is naturally gifted in his genetics, but i bet his work ethic is beyong my imagination.
I A M Numero U N O all elite athletes do, and what?
i mean the people who say steroids about anyone on the olympia stage is ignorant, if youve learned yourself about bodybuilding at all, you realize all these dudes work harder then anyone else in and outside the gym.
Lead By Example he's a steroid user.He gets no breaks!
Jesus... Pat your hired... on behalf of everyone who wants bodybuilding to reach another level.
Derek it’s interesting watching this and then seeing the news about the new show set up by Dwayne Johnson, almost prophetic.
It makes me laugh when people say “it’s steroids” like they can just jab a few steroids and win an Olympia. This guy has basically sacrificed his life to get where he is. Well done to anyone who can go in day after day with this type of motivation 👍
2 years late but couldn't agree more
2 years 8 months late but I also couldn’t agree more
True BUT the steroids do make a gargantuan difference, which is why they all take them.
Comments like this make me roll my eyes just as much as all the idiots screaming ‘steroids’ on every comment section of a bodybuilding related video
@@dustin6528 well done genius, there isnt a single ifbb pro on the planet that is natural
Watching this on the treadmill.
I met Phil Heath at the Arnold the year before his first Olympia and he was a class act. Really one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met. He certainly has earned all the success in his life. He’s a true champion!
Great interview once again Pat.
Send him a tweet and let him know that. He would like to hear from you.
I've seen a lot of interviews with Phil Heath over the years and you can see how much his personality has developed
Freezing Trap He has grown emotionally and mentally. Good for him. He usually presents himself as an asshole.
taoist40 Bodybuilding has suffered the past decades from major setbacks and I think one of the ways that they have tried to bring it back as a sport is with some drama (kind of like WWE wrestling style). So he’s just acting the part. He’s actually a very low key (and kind of insecure) guy
Agree. His maturity has come. I can sit and listen to him today where that wasn't the case 7 years ago.
totally agree gabriel
he always had personality ...
David has a point. Look at boxing for example. According to history they have been 500 deaths due to brain trauma following a boxing bout but Boxing is still a huge business. The point is, it all comes down to how you promote your product. And as fan of Bodybuilding, they need a true promoter.
That’s the point. There’s a risk no matter which direction you go
@@VALUETAINMENT To have a "True Promoter", Bodybuilding has to get ALL parties involved actually *INVOLVED*
Currently Bodybuilders, Nutritionists, Motivators, Trainers, Educators are all in but the key component is silent and hidden. Intentionally.
The Medical Community & Big Pharma NEED to be as big a part of promotion as the rest or that "True Promoter" will Never become a reality. And I'm NOT talking typical Sports Medicine as it is currently involved. I'm talking A Medical Community that Recognizes the relationship and importance of Steroid and Human Growth Hormone use in the industry and how to incorporate it going forward as a professional career and lifestyle choice.
@@johnchase4408 bingo. There are books on steroids, but the guinea pigs dont wanna talk about them for some reason.
Wow you can tell this interview meant alot to him. So sweet. He seems very grateful to speak for himself and everyone like him.
I'd never heard of Phil prior to this interview. I'm now following him after listening to him speak and reading a little bit about him. A switched on person, well educated and a champion in an under appreciated discipline in my opinion. Brilliant.
On another note, great to see an interview where host and guest challenged each other and weren't afraid to go deep. Thanks Pat.
💪🏽🙏
This is hands down the best Phil Heath interview i've EVER seen! You brought out a lot we haven't seen from him yet, keep up those interesting in-depth interviews.
The fact that you Patrick get the opportunity, or should I better say, you got yourself into the position to be able to meet with people, so successful, is something that I aspire to do in my life too! I've got to hustle and be patient.
Thank you for the inspiration Patrick!
But don't be too patient.
I Love Phil Heath's attitude on social media. Every picture I see of him everyone is trying to out-angle him meanwhile he's happy and carefree and doesn't give a shit. LOL
Thank you valutainment ... Waiting for this for a long time.
Thanks a lot
Phil you're my favourite. The speech that you gave when you won the 7th Mr Olympia with Dwayne Johnson was so inspiring. Loved it.
This interviews are gold
Awesome video! Really enjoy watching these interviews and would love to see more!
The talk about social media is absolute truth and speaks volumes! Thanks for this video patrick. I can't believe the value you're bringing. The booking fees to these guys have to be pretty high! On behalf of valuetainment viewers, we appreciate it :)
The amount of gear, Food, and risk of never actually winning is probably beyond anyone’s realm of understanding. Such a risky and high-demanding sport.
Not really you gen. Should have a pretty good understanding after taking your first cycle on weather you have the potential to be in an olinpian lineup. There freaks of nature when it comes to responding to gear
Its an extreme “art”
Why soften it up by calling it "gear". He abused his body with steroids. "Gear" reminds me of when drug dealers would name their drugs after candy.
This was a great interview!!! Phil needs to do this more. He is our ambassador in bodybuilding but I never see him doing things like this. This was great to see!!
Maybe I’m wrong, but what I took away from this interview was that I was amazed how someone can be so focused, strong, smart and disciplined in one area, but lack a bit of confidence in another. This is not a put down in any way. I feel like Pat sees a potential in the sport and in Phil that Phil doesn’t yet see. I wasn’t convinced that he realizes how powerful social media is and the potential that he has to get himself out there. He doesn’t need Arnold or Dwayne to get his name out there.... he is enough. He can self promote and do anything of the things that he was wishing for on his own.
Billy Scarpelli heres the thing, bodybuilding is a sport where most of them need to be "selfish" , focused and deciplined. Thts what it takes to be the best
If ronnie coleman could be a cop and 8× mr O. Phil can get his ass on social media and blow the doors open for bodybuilding.
But for Phil, he can't see combining the two successfully without compromising the Training aspect of it. To him it's balls to the walls, all or nothing. And being old school I feel the same way. I have zero time for camera angle, photoshop and editing. Anything given to this portion of the popularity contest would steal quality from the End Goal. It takes a level of balance that I certainly don't have and I think Phil feels that way from watching this interview.
Awesome interview! Phil is a smart dude. I was lucky enough to work with him when I had him as an athlete under MET-Rx and we’ve done a few interviews for publications too.
I looooove these long interviewes! Always a pleasure. Could listen to people like Phil Heath and Steve Cook for ages!
parts of this were like sitting in on a business meeting, awesome stuff!!
Great interview with MR.O...he is a great man
Love the interviews💪💪..
So far I have see them all...
Phil & Patrick .. two of the best in the same video. Thank you valuetainment
YOU DID IT !!! I sent a comment to ask you to interview him one year ago and you answered to me responding , that i shoulded contact phil myself lol , super thanks !
Yes you did. Send @philheath a tweet and let him know that. He would like to hear from you.
This was one of my favorite interviews haves down 🙌🏿 Thank you 🙏🏿
What was your biggest takeaway?
Valuetainment Bodybuilders are athletes, which means it does take great self control, consistency and sacrifice to be the best. The tracking of everything food item you put into your body, making sure you get a decent sleep, self motivating yourself to go hard in the gym and on top of all that he worked at an establishment that was mentally and physically demanding (were he also went the extra mile to soak up the systems and process of how to run a business). That’s amazing. There is a bit of dishonesty when looking at Instagram which at time makes the sport look easy when in reality that is far from the truth. You need to be obsessive with your passion. I need to be obsessive with my passion!
Phil Heath,
Thank you for being such a role model.
The work ethic, intelligence, humility and dedication, to call it an inspiration is such an understatement...
Thank you for doing what you do the way you do it.
Thank you!
Much love and respect.
Finally some words from our Mr. O! Come on dude you have the guts to become as big as Arnold and maybe even bigger with help of social media. Content and collaborations! Love ya both!
An hour well spent. I would like to see you two making volume 2 already.
Send a tweet to @philheath and let him know.
One of the best interviews i have watched so far. Never knew Phil was such a great man. Love this guy!!
Send him a tweet & let him know.
Great Interview Pat. I have been bodybuilding for 6 years now and it completely changed my life. I got confident, and learned that hard work always pays off, it taught me about having always a positive mind and following my dreams. I recently about a year ago discovered your channel, and it has boosted even more my burning desire to succeed in life. Thanks a lot Pat, great interview!! Keep inspiring each other!!
Great interview. This guy is going in deep. Holding Phil Heath's feet to the fire. Awesome.
Mark greene yes!
Phil Heath my boy 💪🏿💯🏋🏿
Wow. Another phenomenal interview. Every week you surprise us. I'm literally shocked when I see who you're interviewing. Thanks!
Absolute GOLD interviews.. not just the usual internet promoters.
Great interview Pat and Phil. I relate to much of the interview as I remember back to 6th grade. I started lifting weights and really getting into bodybuilding. It did wonders for my physical and mental health. I loved and still love what it teaches people concerning self discovery. Body building helped me grow and developed through discipline, motivation, setting goals and keeping commitments. I will be 50 in June own a company and work out 3 times per week. I owe a lot of my good health to getting involved with body building. Thank you Phil Heath for being a great leader in this industry.
His story is priceless. Be sure to send him a tweet and ask him about the weekly thoughts. @philheath
WOW!! Much respect for Phil! I didn’t like his attitude, but now i can listen to this guy for hours. Such a strong mind!!! A champion mindset for every aspect of his life. Nothing like listening and hearing people for one hour to start respecting people! This channel is becoming my favorite one in whole CZcams
Thank you very much Sir! Great interview!
This interview is so intense, interesting and captivating. Look at all Pat’s face expression. Is a little bit funny but also is in 5000% in what he is doing. Impressive.
Thanks Pat, Mario & Mr.O 🔥
WOW! Stumbled across this and was not expecting such a great exchange and interview. Brilliant stuff! Im going after my passion.....ART!
what a fantastic interview, never heard phil dropping such wisdom, the part where he talks about his business education, amazing..
Best interviews on CZcams
not interviews conversations....he is a terrible interviewer
Insanely insanely Insanely insane.
I loved it Pat. This is what makes this platform very very much apart from others💪💪💪💪💪
Great interview and good luck to phil this year !!💪🏻🙏🏻
Great interview and awesome conversations between you and Phil .so cool to see someone not scared to ask questions and give props with respect
Great interview Pat, my work ethic came from bodybuilding at an early age, no shortcuts or hack as they call it today, just hard work, dedication and committed to being the best! Phil/Mr. O and the whole bodybuilding community deserve way more recognition than they’re getting, as they have so much knowledge and inspiration that they can share, yet nobody is capitalizing on it… in a meaningful way. It’s going to take some time, and the right moves for the bodybuilding industry to catch up… or fade away like blackberry to stubborn to change until it’s too late. I believe Pat you just opened the door, let’s see who walks through :)
I hope so. This is an industry that deserves the proper attention. By the way, send Phil a tweet and let him know what your biggest takeaway was from this interview.
Really really interesting interview.
Lots of points of view and ideas to think about.
Great interview! Thank you for sharing.
High quality content! Booking the best out there for your fans to see and learn. Good job Patrick. Thanks for the videos.
Great interview. People are hating on Phil but he deserves to be confident. A master of body and mind.
The authorities in body building are hating on Kai Green. Holding him back. He's better than Phil Heath. Phil Heaths image works for the same establishment. Especially his choice of women. You won't see a black one on his arm.
@ocelot108, you seriously need to stop smoking crack.
Killler Video! Been watching your channel for 9 months and you guys inspired me to start my own channel! Lots of hard work, but it's fulfilling! Made over 160 videos to date! Waahoo
Luke W You got a nice channel! Keep up!
Luke W You are being so consistent on your uploads which seemed good content. Amazon reselling, That's something I'm looking into. Just subscribed. Hope everything goes for best.

Thank you Vamsi! yes I know that the compound effect really does take place and having uploaded videos very consistently is proving to grow my channel! It is work, but very enjoyable "work". haha Plus giving back to people content that helps them makes me feel fulfilled too
Phil a true champion. Thank you so much Patrick. Lots of education. Stay blessed Man & Stay great...💪👊
I have seen so many interviews with Phil and I was afraid it would be more of the same. But wow this was a very different type of interview and I really like this version of an interview. Awesome work guys!! Thanks
Good interview.....
heath is VERY smart guy, left or right this cannot be denied. i have FULL respect for how he thinks, full 100% respect
Valuetainment is a really cool channel I am enjoying all of these videos in my spare time as a person and a "young" businessman.
This video is full of value! Thanks
love this Great point of views from both sides
By far the best interview I’ve seen. Being a fan of the whole fitness world, watching this interview has opened my mind to the myriad of avenues that are available for change and progress within the industry. Extremely insightful video and I’ve learned a great deal. Thank you Phil and Pat.
Raj Kulkarni It shows the limits and pitfalls the industry has too.
This is awesome, I am always looking for long content of Phil Heath #legendary
Just loved this Pat, please make more such videos.
Dang one of the Best interviews I have seen of Phil.
Let him know on Twitter
business and bodybuilding i love it
great video, both guys very humble and the interview going so smoothly
Keep up the good work Pat loving the content 👊
I think this was a GREAT interview, HOWEVER...Phil circle-jerking around the conversation about the steroid side of the game is unfortunate. He tried so hard to NOT expose the use & abuse of of these compounds, it was embarrassing to watch. The conversation NEEDS to be had. Its an integral side of the sport of bodybuilding. If the sport is looking to move forward and more in the publics' eye...then they better prepare.
I'm not currently bodybuilding anymore, but have done a couple of cycles...saw results, but I'm a green-horned amateur. The shit is out there Phil...C'MON BRUH
The conversation needs to be had in the Medical Arena. A Bodybuilder discussing it isn't going to demystify anything and it won't stop the vilification of Steroid use. The other thing about it is that 100 bodybuilders will NOT have the same effects happening within their bodies. Speaking to known, unknown, predictable and unpredictable side effects on said bodies. Unfortunately, until a Steroid is utilized and effects are tested and measured, one won't know how it will effect them. That being said the Medical community needs to study these compounds intensively and comprehensively to create the safest possible way to utilize each Steroid. Otherwise these guys would just lose sponsorships and have people getting sick and dying saying, "I did everything you did", "you said it was safe", "and I'm dying", etc, etc,.
Everybody knows its out there. I think we fans need stop mocking the athletes for that.
Riiiight he should incriminate himself publicly.. and get the DEA at his door.
Very intelligent guy. Great interview pat!
Great interview, Patrick! I watched it allll. Loved the discussion on Phil leveraging his status as a TRUE ELITE ATHLETE and a celebrity to further impact on others' quality of life and to take bodybuilding to new levels. I believe that the media, for whatever reason, moved from promoting and praising the muscular build to promoting the lean look. You can even see it in the transformation of how superheroes are portrayed. Meanwhile, like Phil said, it's still burnt into our psyches. We pose like bodybuilders to demonstrate winning or conquering something or just to show how fly we are. Much love from Barbados, Phil! Hope you return!
I love everything about this interview. If this were to go completely viral it would give the world a completely different perspective of bodybuilding
Absolutely love the real talk in this interview. I think Phil Heath needs to take more responsibility upon himself to make these awesome things happen for the bodybuilding industry. I think his approach is expecting things to come to him instead of going out and making them happen like Arnold made them happen in his time.
If Nike comes up with a Phil Heath model I buy it. I wish all these big brands make more clothing directed to bodybuilding. There are lots of bodybuilders out there in the gyms that will buy that clothing for sure. Work on it guys
Send @philheath a tweet and let him know that. He would like to hear from you.
awesome interview, learned a lot with this. Definitely need more content out there about this information.
damn patrick, these interviews are so different and unique. frickin’ love it
I like that Pat is putting it back on Phil at 29:00. You have ideas? What are you doing about it? Why don’t you have a team making these ideas a reality?
Absolutely!! Phil MUST do More!!
Leo de Smidt he doesn’t have to do it alone, but he needs to build a team of people who can support him if he wants to do something really amazing.
Exactly alot of excuses and not enough pushing for the body building culture. He can say a lot about Kai but he brand is legit and internationally known. Because he goes out there and prompts himself. He makes, youtube, ig, and fb post. He does more guest appearances then any other body builder out at this moment. I was stationed in Bahrain and Kai had 3 guest performance shows in Bahrain and the first hour all tickets were sold out. The craziest thing is i was like i go to dubai to see Kai, but those tickets where sold out as well. These shows hold up to 1000 or more seats and first day it was sold out in Bahrain, Dubai, Pakistan, Kuwait, and India online i was like wow thats something special.
Phil "It's gotta be a million" Pat"First place 10 million dollar contract". Your world is as great as your dreams.
Amazing interview, was very suprised how down to earth and articulate this guy was. Please do an interview with Mayweather Jr or McGregor.
Wow what an interview ! Your specific type of energy as an interviewer is amazing bro ! And Phil is just super inspiring ! New subscriber here Pat
Thank You Valuetainment.
Funny enough, I am called a "meathead" but studied engineering, and build stuff for fun besides being an entrepreneur. People assume athletic looking people and athletes have no brains, so they often play themselves on that false assumption. Very useful for my business, I won't discourage them.
Same thing happens when people think you're "beautiful" therefore you're an "air-head"...I love people underestimating me and people like me, because then I can run circles around their arguments. lol
Well theres no correlation between muscles tissue on your body and brain right. Very true but well nowadays nerdy-smart too much study people probably don't have as much time to build their bodies to the level of Arnold or lots of them probably really don't care about bodybuilding.
Which is not a very good thing considering how useful and healthy working out are. Im also studying Engineering and planning to start working out soon. Do you have any tips as how to manage your time being an entreprenur and bodybuilder?
Wake up early. My day starts at 6am Sunday to Sunday no one does business before 8am so you have that window to prep meals and read mails / plan out your schedule/ do sets of push ups, abs and squats before showering. You never know how your day will be so at least fix a time to close shop. Say 7pm, no more business work (unless it's worth it), try to get an hour of training per evening, more if you really have nothing else planned. Weekend mornings usually people don't get up early for business, so you have till 9-10am to train if you are going to have a meeting or something, if not train till 3pm, then go socialize/ family weekend time / relax. That's my routine.
@@Apples2apples871 so your beautiful and a linguistic genius? Even if you do say so your self!
I once had a 10 min chat with Phil, he is a very kind fella. Just as he was in this video.
This was one hell of an interview!

Phil impressed me for the first time lol
Wicked video
Love this interview! It gave me that feeling that I felt about Phil in the beginning! More videos like this with Phil!
Send him a tweet and let him know that. He would like to hear from you.
Great interview Pat!!👌 Keep it up
I'm from Seattle too! Shout Out from da West Coast! It's raining up here today :( haha
Whoever follows bodybuilding knows Phil is a little arrogant and cocky sometimes, but he has a good reason to be, hes the best, like it or not, and will probably beat the record for the most Olympia wins.
react prestigious totally agree mate
Lots of other GOATS are not like that: Dorian Yates, Wayne Gretzky, Ronnie Coleman, etc. Being humble when a GOAT earns huge respect and props. Easy to be arrogant and cocky - much less admirable.
One of your best interviews hands down. Gotta lot of respect for Phil.
Great interview, thank you so much for sharing it, and yes I agree that bodybuilding knowledge should be spreaded
Pat amazing interview, from a early age i was involved in the bodybuilding space. I love it. When you talked about making mr o bigger and expanding, i believe this is not the way to go. Yes bodybuilders have amazing discipline and work ethic, butt still talking about hormones, steroids it's hard. The most people see the elite like a freak show it is not possible to get this body naturally. Yiu have to take the the growth hormons, steriods and more. You cannot use this as a measurement for health in school and life. Yes bodybuilders talks a lot about healthy food, rest and mindset this is great, butt the over developt body. If you look to jeremy buendia his class is more reachable and i think more able to reach a lager crowd. Arnold was big butt he was a vision wat cut be possible also reachable in the peoples eye. Now this era of bodybuilding is to mutch.
Your smile when Phil mentionned Bally's total fitness, when you yourself worked there younger, haha ! I'm into fitness since 3 years, and have had an interest in the bodybuilding world and olympia. I've always seen Phil Heath as a great entrepreneur. I've also been following your channel for more than a year now, so you can guess I was pretty excited when seeing you made this interview. Thank you, PBD ! Excellent content as always.
💪🏽He’s a smart guy.
Pat you are a great interviewer. A real listener and get a lot out of who you interview.
Amazing, liked this interview.
Patrick i would love to see James Cameron with you on Valuetainment
Title should be

Love the conversation gentleman! Everyone has ideas but that next level guy is raaaaare
Omg i can’t wait to watch this!!!!
