I don't think Shawn was the dark horse everyone was making him out to be, he should've won in 2015 and arguably 2016. He's the only guy left that brings an aesthetic looking physique to the stage now that Dexter is washed up. I guess you could put Cedric in that category as well, but he can't get shredded to save his life. All Shawn had to do was bring up his upper body mass a bit, come in shredded (which he did), and hope Phil was off (which he was).
How do you write a guy off who placed 2nd once and maybe should have won in 2016 and bounced back between 3rd and 4th place since 2012. I was pissed at him in 2017 because I felt he was chasing mass. I didn’t realized he did the prep with a broken jaw. Still, he got I think 5th. Then came back and won it.
Persistency and hard work always equals winners.
Presumably jay had something in his mind about Shawn winning this years Mr Olympia . This can’t just be a coincidence. Light weight 💯

Filippo it's not a criticism of Jay, it's just putting Shawn's age/achievement into context - he's the oldest Mr Olympia ever - also, what you said doesn't make sense; Ronnie was retired when Jay won his last Olympia, he got beaten by Phil in 2011, regardless, as I said, I'm a big Jay fan, he's one of the GOAT.

i think it's because back is harder to train and see progress for yourself... you need some kind of special camera or mirror setup to look at it properly.

believe it guys, Shawn Rhoden is going to be harder and more conditioned than ever. He's gonna come in with that tapered flex wheeler waist and flaring back. That's something Phil heath does not have. Phil is very Arm Dominant and his back definition is insane. Its going to be closer than ever this year, between Phil, Rhoden, Ramy and Jackson. Bonac's build is very unique, cant really improve on his best without compromising his current strengths.
