- Tell me your Hot Takes in the comments!
Here are some Star Wars Hot Takes you might not be ready for. No matter if they are about Revenge of the Sith being overhyped or Rian Johnson being a good Film maker. Is The Last Jedi bad? Is Dave Filoni the Future of Star Wars? Here are some edgy and polarising opinions about Star Wars.
Thanks to zanny for inspiring me to this Hot Takes video! - Zábava
Second hot take: I love Ewan McGregor, but James Arnold Taylor was who made me adore Obi-Wan
I doubt anyone here is going to argue with you on that
The Sequel Trilogy for me simply devolved into a pissing contest between Johnson and Abrams.
As someone who casually enjoys the sequels, you are not wrong.
Who gets the most PSI though
Hot take: The Clone Wars is better than two of the three trilogies
is that really a hot take?
Nah you’ve just stated a fact
@@ashtonlee265 plot twist: It's a hot take because the trilogies he's referring to are the Original and Prequel trilogies.
three
I'd say it's better than all three of them.
I don't know if this is necessarily a hot take, but, Padme didn't die of a broken heart.
Palpatine took her life force so that Anakin would survive until Vaders suit was on him.
even if this isnt *technically* true or whatever, i like this explanation better than the "broken heart" one. i always hated that ending for padme
i think this is actually Canon whatsoever
She didn't die from a broken heart, she died from a broken trachea.
Well, death by heartbreak was mostly true. You can’t die of a broken heart, but you can lose any will to live. Without that, almost anything can kill you.
Nah she died of disappointment because she was present yet never witnessed the mustafar duel.
Here's a take; not a hot one, just a take:
Star Wars literally could have ended with the first movie, later titled as "A New Hope" and later deemed Episode 4 in the series.
It could have perfectly ended with that first movie and George Lucas could have moved on to other projects and that'd be okay.
No extended lore, no comics, no books, no spin-offs, video games, TV show, cartoons. None of that, just imagine, all you had to work with was your imagination and what was seen in that first film. No explanations as to what the Clone Wars was, how the Force worked, never confirming that Darth Vader was really Luke Skywalker's father, not being told Leia was his sister.
Just being left to believe that Darth Vader and Palpatine were defeated, the galaxy was saved and everyone would go on about their lives in space.
Now it's just a bloody mess and I love it.
sociopathic but i like it
I think It would have been forgotten about in a couple of years if that were the case
@@NotReal-187 No, not entirely, a large amount of film critics of the time could barely describe what they saw in theaters, some called it an out of body experience, it definitely would have been remembered as a classic and as the definitive first blockbuster movie.
@@AbsoluteBeta yes it would
No clue the lore is really good and the world of star wars is awesome.
"not everyone in the galaxy should be related" is a thing rian tried to establish in tlj (and you can question the effectiveness of that attempt) but jj went back on it.
that being said though, with what we were working with in ros, i dont actually hate the "rey skywalker" thing. in universe for rey's character, i think it makes sense. she didn't need anyone, but she found people who loved her and took that name. family is the people you choose and all that.
SAME omg everyone gets so upset over "rey skywalker" because "wahmen doesn't deserve luke's name >:(" but i think its a pretty good conclusion to her character, finally finding where she belongs
@@nora7631 it’s not “wahmen doesn’t deserve his name”, don’t make it a sexism thing, most people hate it because it’s not great writing.
that said, i agree with OP in that family is who you choose
@@nora7631 you seem way too happy to find someone that agrees with you and also has a brain so they can do the thinking and argue for you.
he grew up on the sandy planet of Tatooine, so it’s perfectly reasonable for the guy to not like sand 💀
I never got the meme because I read some of the books, I think its explained pretty well as to why he doesn't like sand.
The line "I don't like sand" just sounds corny without the explanation though. He doesn't like sand because it reminds him that he was born as a slave, raised by his mother without his father around or any form of father figure, the senseless murder, thievery and crime that's an on-going problem in Tatooine, which he had to witness as a small child. The bandits, lack of security and protection, illegal trading. The list goes on and was well explained in all other forms of Star Wars media, but in Attack of the Clones, it was just narrowed down to "I don't like it"
Which I guess is a hot take in itself;
Tatooine, despite being a fan favorite planet in the series, but also one of the most dull and uninspired looking, has the best writing and background revolving around its history, ecosystem and agriculture, but is arguably one of the worst planets you could live on and Anakin has every right to remind others about how big of a shithole it was.
@@wxl2562 this guy gets it
@@wxl2562 the issue is all these books were written after backlash against the line, because there was no context for the poor delivery. Not against Hayden, it’s a weird line to deliver
@@spencej05 I know it too but I tried to explain it to everyone and they will still call me crazy.
Clone Wars' Battle Droids are the best comedic element in the entire series.
Roger Roger
Unlogical writing is the sequel trilogy's second name
That's literally the coldest take possible.
Actually the prequels are great, they just suffer from some bad dialogue, and the fact that anakins character is supposed to a stupid awkward teen.
@@st.michaelsknight6299 “some”
@@st.michaelsknight6299 I guess you're just going to ignore the fact that it failed at its only task to do and needed a 7 season long tv show to fill all the gaps...
Hot take
Mesa likea jar jar binks
Another thing with Phantom Menace is that apparently Padme is fourteen years old, which in and of itself is par for the course with monarchies, but then in Attack of the Clones it's revealed that the queen of Naboo is an elected position? Who the hell is electing a fourteen year old to lead an ENTIRE planet. Also in Attack of the Clones Anakin is creepy af, Padme tells him to not put the moves on her and he's like "pfft oh well, guess I'm a trailblazer" and then we're just supposed to believe they have this beautiful romance?
For a while, attack of the clones was my favorite Star Wars movie. I’ll never forget the moment when mace windu marched up and put his lightsaber to the neck of jango fett, and then give the signal to 400 other Jedi around an enormous stadium. Then a huge battle that went back and forth between separatists and droids, to the republic, Jedi, and clones. It didn’t feel like a fan service. It showed every angle to make it feel like as though the republic had an edge, there was still a high chance that they lost.
❤
the sequels just aren’t that bad
I completely agree
Respectfully agree with all these except the Kenobi one. You knew people had to say something about that lol.
The Inhibitor Chips in the Clones is not a poor/lazy writing choice TCW made. It's both a necessary evil to how well-fleshed out the Clones had become as characters, thus needing something like the chips to help explain why certain Clones turned on their Jedi without question after everything TCW showed them going through together, but taking away the free will of the Clones also adds to the tragedy of Order 66 as it shows how Palpatine viewed the Clones and Droids as one in the same. To him, they were both disposable armies, while the Clones saw themselves as unique induvials, something even the Jedi saw.
it was done better in Clone war multimedia where clones knew that they will betray jedi. Go listen battlefront 2 rise of the empire storyline. far better than TCW. only movie canon clone wars are those from 2003 and multimedia around it. TCW 2008 sucks and makes no sense.
@@michaelstark8720 Guess what? I have played BF2. I own the game. And yes, how it depects Order 66 is great. That doesn't mean TCW is bad. They're good for their own reasons, and preferring one doesn't make the other nonsensical or "bad".
@@megasoniczx6960 OK for you. I played bf2 also, still own copy and i like Clone Wars multimedia version far more. Personally i hate TCW animation style and nobody apart of Obi Wan and Grievous looks like their movie counterparts. Dooku was depicted criminally bad. They should made animation similar to The Old Republic trailers. They had ability to do that because they did pretty good animation for cutscenes in Force Unleashed games. Also Grievous was turned from feared jedi killer to just a villain who escape and was beaten by kids. Also his coughing happened just before ep3 when he had encounter with Windu on Coruscant. In TCW he cough because that is his recognizable trait just like Lando had yellow shirt in Solo because he wore that same color in TESB so that was Lando's trait. I hate when shows do things like that.
hot take: prequels had a good story delivered bad, if they make the lines less cheesy it would've been the best, sequels had a bad story delivered well, just fix the story
another hot take: sequels had such a good chance to be so good, but it just missed. also the last jedi imo was the best because rey wasnt a mary sue and the visuals are amazing
The sequels are what I call a senseless spectacle
I agree
@Fernando Muñoz the sequels didn't have a good story the prequels had one but it was badly executed.
The prequels failed completely, in the sense of failing to do what it was created for. Trust me, the story of _only_ the 3 movies isn't good. They had to come up with a 7 season long tv show to fill all the gaps.
Hot take. Clone wars is the best piece of Star Wars and generally makes the prequels better
This is the most generic take of them all bruh...I do agree tho, Clone Wars rules
Not a hot take
Especially the last part should be common knowledge
ice cold take
My hot take: the Last Jedi would be a good movie if it had nothing to do with Star Wars. Every problem I have with the movie, every problem I have heard anyone have with the movie, is removed or minimized if the movie were a totally different Sci-Fi setting that happens to have a similar feel to Star Wars.
Never heard anything about TLJ that is so relateable... if it was Star Trek, it would be the best... but in Star Wars, it destroyed too much Lore
Kylo Ren is my favorite dark side user. (Although he's not necessarily the best one)
Anakins lightsaber isn't his, it belongs to General Grievous!
I always love randomly finding a fellow german on the internet lmao
Honestly im ok with these hot takes
i want a solo sequel / standalone maul movie detailing his fall from being the leader of crimson dawn
Here's a hot take, the more star wars continues with content in the prequel and imperial era, the more unnecessarily smart, competent and sometimes dumb the emperor becomes. The recent comics showed that Palpatine was planning and building his sith fleet on exogul months, years even before RTJ took place, if he cared about the empire he could've deployed the fleet early and wiped out the rebel alliance with star destroyers WITH PLANET KILLING WEAPONS!!
IM SO WITH YOU!!!
SOLO WASNT THAT BAD!!!!
My own takes:
The Hyperspace ramming scene is a brilliant use of the Hyperdrive.
The way Prequel fanboys complain about "memberberries" to the OT, yet cream themselves whenever Duel of the Fates is played is pathetic and blatantly hypocritical.
Much of the old canon sucks and I'm glad that we won't ever see it again.
We need an alien protagonist.
Hot take: Rey is a good character and she gets too much hate
She’s my favorite character
Yeah I think her lightsaber is cool especially what it means
She's good and I also don't hate the sequels, but the problem manny had with her is just her not having any character growth or developement similar to Luke or Ahsoka etc.
While they were learning from their mistakes and actions Rey always did everything right, saved everyone without even facing minor consequences
Still love Rey and Daisy Ridley as her actress tho and she could've become a great star wars character next to Anakin, Luke etc., but due to the reasons I listed (and maybe smth else idk just my POV) she became an overhated star wars Protagonist of an already overhated Trilogy tbh
"Revenge of The Sith is overhyped and not as good as you remember it"
Ok. Closing video
Did you not read the title of the video? It's "Star Wars Hot Takes you are not ready for"
It seems you weren't ready for them
I mean it really is at times it’s just blatantly stupid
folks realy oughta shut up about the sequels, they happened, they sucked, move on
"Obi-Wan is overrated" I was so ready xD
Hot take: I think the only good things that came out of the sequel trilogy was the first order and the BB series astromech droid
Your prequel hot takes I disagree with a fair amount, but Last Jedi being the most visually pleasing movie is something I've been saying since it came out. I personally think it's the best Sequel move, and Rian Johnson is a good director, while JJ Abrams is a hack. Look at their other work
Are you disagreeing with him because you think that the prequels are as bad as people say?
@@prequeldefender 10 months later I don't remember the video contents lmao. Prequels are goated is my take, Phantom is a fun adventure, AOTC big battles but shit writing, Revenge Top Tier.
@@thatguybob6088 I totally respect it but I think that Phantom is not really good because of some pacing issues and Clones and Revenge are great solid films.
@@thatguybob6088 I rank them 3,2,1.
I think the reason that mando and luke had their own episodes in boba's show is because the writers ran out of stuff for Boba to do
rebels is underrated but had a poor start
its good Disney yeeted the old canon to make it legends and start from nearly 0
the sequels are good movies but a bad trilogy. which is the complete opposite to the prequels
the original trilogy is overrated
the holdo "crash your ship in lightspeed" tactic isnt that bad if u give it a further explanation instead of saying "it was 1 in a million" just to show the same thing in the same movie (Ros ship over Endor)
Finn got wasted
I also personally don’t like TPM, and I’m fine with AOTC, but not because of the story, but because of the memes. I do still think that ROTS is a cinematic masterpiece and definitely deserve at least one cult though.
Alternative title: Rogue Edits showing his powers of 🧢 and cringe for 4:42
the jedi deserved to be destroyed. but definitely not the younglings
No
Hot take: Star Wars rebels was a great show, it was just overly ambitious and fell short of what it promised.
I have so many hot takes for both Marvel and Star Wars that they honestly outnumber the Grand Army of the Republic, so I’ll just hit you all with my Star Wars ranking…
1. The Last Jedi
2. The Force Awakens
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. Star Wars
5. Solo
And the rest are just… I don’t like ranking movies I dislike
What about Rogue One? Why do you dislike it?
@@prequeldefender It doesn’t develop it’s characters before throwing in all the fan service and killing them off.
@@thegoodreylo4749 understandable. I don’t like it as much either.
I agree with all of these wut
Hot take: Rebels in a lot of cases can be better than Clone Wars. They have similarly spectacular and emotional highs, but the Clone Wars had more plummeting lows than Rebels did
I love this man's videos. The prequels were just for the most part a wholesome experience with a cool vision. And super awesome feminine and masculine characters with strong villains and emotional scenes.
Hot take: I like Rex more in rebels than in clone wars
Hot take: some people hate the prequels but they made star wars 90% more fun. Also Ahsoka is the best character. Trust me I'm 1000% based about Ahsoka LOL joking, but thats my opinion.
yeah i can agree with most of the-
"obi wan is overrated"
and thus begins the 1 year long response post
Honestly it could just be because I grew up with them, but I've always liked the prequels and happily watch them whenever someone asks me to. I think with the sequels it's less about bad writing for me and more I think they could have done better than rehash the first 3 movies (4-6) and mandalorian, solo, and rogue one show they can make a story if they try. It's just with the sequels they seemed to enjoy killing the characters I actually liked for their not likable characters. And Rei being able to beat Kylo first try will always be the worst star wars scene for me, no contest
here's my hottest take: a new hope is very overrated and luke in that movie kinda annoys me.
my second hottest: the sequels are good, and last jedi is the best of them, and rise of skywalker is very good, just a 5/10 because of the amount of plot conveniences and nostalgia tripping.
here's my third hottest take: the prequels are consistently good, and revenge of the sith is near perfect. [please note i said near]
and finally: i'm EXTREMLY happy Luke and Leia are twins, because if they were shipped it would make han and leia developing a cute romance in empire feel extremly pointless because it would have wasted a small scale of the movie.
I agree on alot of these, but trying to cover up TST''s bad writing with showing off The Prequels isnt a great argument, its just two movies with bad writing.
What’s tst
Half of the hot takes in the comments are colder than a month old corpse
Jokes on you
In one month that corpse Is getting cremated

I do have to disagree with you on the “sequels did not ruin Star Wars.” Technically, as long as you ignore them and pretend they aren’t canon, they won’t really ruin it. But due to the fact that Disney forces them to be canon, it’s usually not possible to simply avoid the Sequels anymore. So much lore and story was essentially invalidated by the Sequels.
Hot take: if your favorite Star Wars movie isn’t Revenge of the Sith, then your opinion is meaningless
Not salty because it was mentioned, I’ve been thinking about it for a while
Thanks… it’s one of my least favorite Star Wars movies of all time
That’s not a hot take it’s just being an annoying fan
Don’t worry, I see ROTS ranked as the 3rd worst Star Wars movie before.
My favorite prequel is attack of the clones
My ranking of the Star Wars movies: (everything is controversial)
11. Rise of skywalker
10: the last Jedi
9: return of the Jedi
8: attack of the clones

@@TheRogueOneYT As much as I can get 🥴🥴🥴🥴
Hot take while the prequels do mirror some scenes of the originals, they are the most original and the best of star wars, when it comes to lore and worldbuilding. Hot take 2, empire strikes back is kinda of overrated, and return of the jedi is the best of the original trilogy. The kenobi show is the best star wars show, and darth vader is at his best In the show, while in the original trilogy vader is only good in empire. Attack of the clones has the most interesting story and the prequels aren't bad they are decent movies.
Agree on many of them but ROTJ was not the best oft the OT
@@TheRogueOneYT I do see why empire is rated high and it's a great movie, but return has the conclusion that wraps up everything, we see luke as a jedi knight, we get the name of anakin skywalker, we find out that leai is Luke's sister. Jabbas palace and the throne room scene is great. I'll give the ewoks, but they didn't bother me as much.
Cad Bane is a very plain and boring character. Fight me!

Hot take: The old republic era is overrated
I like Solo, but it's got the worst cinematography and lighting out of all the Star Wars movies and shows
Hot take: Star Wars has grown too much and is now collapsing on itself. Like a star at the end of it's lifetime.
Hot take from a Star Wars fan: the whole franchise is kinda bullshit and the writing can be really lazy, when there’s no explanation for something they just fill it in, I get that they can but the amount of videos on ‘why blah blah blah didn’t just do this’, or ‘why this worked’ just shows how little thought went into the story from its beginning and it’s still trying to make up for it
I'm joking for the record
That was the worst opinion I've heard though saying the SEQUELS did not ruin the series and are canon. They are definitely NOT canon.
Here is a better take. All the legends do not deserve to be considered canon.
What about Star Wars rebels?
Sorry, but the movie Solo broke the time line by showing dearth mall alive and not halved yet, Solo being like in late 20s-early 30s and at the time of darth mall not being halved, Anakin was like really young. So how is it ok for Laia and Han to be a couple?!?

a new hope is way overyhyped i dont like the mandalorin i think its trash and grogu is not cute hes ugly i like book of boba feat
Hey
Here are some of mine:
The Prequels are overrated and the Sequels are overhated
In comparison with the Sequels, the Prequels are the worse films (except Ep.3 ofc)
The OT are the best directed movies of all of them
Disney destroyed Boba Fett as a character
You only like Mando S2 for the Cameos, not the show itself
The Clone Wars S7 is only fan service
The Sequels are not even that bad (they had MUCH wasted potential though)
The Book Of Boba Fett is a terrible show
You don't want to see original stories with new characters
The entire Legends storyline is not canon, neither are deleted episodes (therefore we don't know how Boba got the dent in his helmet)
The Martez sisters aren't as bad as you think
Rose Tico wasn't a bad character, she just didn't work, because Finn didn't work, whose counterpart she was supposed to be (seriously, stop blaming the actress)
Maul vs Obi-Wan And Qui-Gon isn't a good choreography, as you can see that it is a choreography and not an actual fight
You don't like the Prequels, you only like the memes and Ep.3
The final episode of Book Of Boba Fett is the worst piece of Star Wars we have ever gotten
I like Episode 4 and 5 more than everything else we ever got to see from Star Wars
Some of these are hot but TBH I think your Book of Boba Fett takes range from cold to lukewarm.
@@jd1800 Also kinda true
The Prequels are overrated and the Sequels are overhated
No. The prequels are good movies that just suffer from bad dalogue writing. The sequels are visionless produced for mass consumption shit with no artistic merit as a whole.
The OT are the best directed movies of all of them
Agreed, but then EP. 5 is up there for some of the best directing ever.
The Clone Wars S7 is only fan service
You don't know what fan service is then. Clone wars s7 was fantastic.
The Sequels are not even that bad (they had MUCH wasted potential though)
Yes they really are that bad. Hack film makers, shit acting, schizophrenic directing.
You don't want to see original stories with new characters
WHAT? No thats what people are literally starving for. Just we are in a cultural decline and it has been very difficult to get original things made.
The entire Legends storyline is not canon, neither are deleted episodes (therefore we don't know how Boba got the dent in his helmet)
Sadly
The Martez sisters aren't as bad as you think

Rose Tico wasn't a bad character, she just didn't work, because Finn didn't work, whose counterpart she was supposed to be (seriously, stop blaming the actress)
Your right finn doesnt really work. However rose's character was basically just a blatant insert to push the film in china. Basically badly written chinese fan service.
Maul vs Obi-Wan And Qui-Gon isn't a good choreography, as you can see that it is a choreography and not an actual fight
It's amazing because it uses the fight to tell a sotry, without needing words, and its great. Like for one it shows us just how much like later anakin Obi wan is.
You don't like the Prequels, you only like the memes and Ep.3
I actually do like the prequels and ep 2 is my favorite.
@@st.michaelsknight6299 Sequels had bad acting and directing? Seriously? Go back and watch some of the shots in TLJ, especially the salt planet climax. Tcw animated series is overated I love it but definitely a lot of nostalgia talking, though the story telling is pretty good the animation is odd and a little bad for the time
Why is your channel name oddly similar to the worst movie ever?
The rise of Skywalker was a good movie, not perfect but enjoyable and saved the sequels for me
i’d argue that it’s the worst, but to each their own
star wars is meh overall.
Star Wars Rebels Sucked
0:43 is this scene supposed to prove that they prequels were mediocre? It doesn’t. This is two people that trained for months for their role and this fight going ham against each other. Of course we have a predetermined winner, but they were both trying their absolute best to really sell it.

A New Hope is shit, it has the worst pacing of any movie I've ever seen and everything that happens in it is inconsequential, though it is the best, and does have the most important events in all the original trilogy.
