Great review and looks like a really nice bike. As superficial as this might sound, though, I think this company needs to rebrand. Maybe I’m the only one, but it’s weird to thrash an aggressive aero bike with a plug for Santa’s little helpers on the downtube. 🧝♀️

Looks phenomenal, the paint scheme and all the other components go very well together, visually. I also like the idea that you went with a slight budget aspect, 105 Di2, Assioma pedal instead of a badass powermeter crank (even though I suspect it was the only option since you already had a hard time with the 1x crank). Nothing wrong with this build, as a consumer, you just need to find a shop that gives it the love it needs to work out those tiny issues when they can't sell you one of their frames and you'll have a cool bike at a strong price point.

So excited. New to the sport so I got me a good deal on a contend Sora, but in a couple of years when I’m ready for a nice mid tier bike, I bet the Chinese market will be even better 💪
It’s amazing the non UCI bikes being made in China. China bike channel showed the amazing new products being offered. Good quality reasonable prices incredible value. I would take the new Sava over a brand new Cervelo or Pinarello any day. Can’t wait for them to release it after the trade show
What a beauty ! I got an Elves Eglath Pro a couple of months back and am very happy with it. It's also very comfortable, especially with 28 mm tubeless Pirelli P Zeros run at very low pressures ! I've recently had an issue with the Garmin mount which looks identical to yours with the cut-out behind the quarter turn mounting point. After 2,700 km my mount broke in half, it had developed a stress fracture by one of the holes through which it is bolted to the bars. Elves are sending me a stronger replacement mount. I wouldn't trust that thin aluminium mount you've got.
hahahah thats funny you say that because that is what happened my mount for my garmin snapped off, now i had my insta360 on there bending it alot but yes now I just have a the regular garmin stem mount
Just finished the same bike for my son, built with 105 mech/hydraulic didn’t have the issues you did (front caliper Mount was fine for example) very impressed with it, wandering why I spent so much money on my bikes now 🤣🤣🤣

I love mine! Same experience with it holding speedes really well. And I have maybe 160-200kms on mine. And i didnt have the issue with the front break. Maybe the mounting on the lwtoo 12 speed hydralic calibre is different from 105.

Regarding disc calliper mount issue, as a mechanic myself and had build dozens of fresh build from low tier to high end frame by very well known company, its all about qc by the company. Ive build a usd6000 frame with a poorly faced calliper mounting area, I’ve build a usd1200 frame with a perfect calliper mounting area. Its all about qc hahaha

We had no issues with the install of the front brake and rear derailleur. Bars are super stiff. Waiting to get out of the placebo speed phase first before I say its the best I've owned. Go to geometry geeks and you will get your sizing right. Thanks for being honest GC.

About that front disc it was not too big a deal for you but may be for the average home mechanic without a pal or shop who could fix that. If you order one right now, with a little bit of luck it might arrive before the end of the year! Their customer service is terrible, it takes weeks to get a reply from them. People say local distributors do better, so order there instead of the global shop, it's a nightmare!
Can confirm, and they don't back up their warranty if you have an issue down the road.
@@myxti3669 if only down the road. It took so many messages over three months to finally get a confirmation that they sent my frame, only for it to get stuck god knows where in China. Delivery company said they can't do anything, I'm supposed to contact the sender, but Elves don't respond to my messages. I have ordered the frame in December and all I have is a tracking number that hasn't been updated since March.
I had a totally different customer experience, replied to my emails regarding size and colour with 24hrs and received my frameset within a few weeks

@@alexandrelavroff3005 not yet, unfortunately. I asked them if they're able to find the package, but they could not, so they proposed to ship another frame and I agreed. At the end of May I asked about it again and they said they need more time to make the frame. I'll have to text them again, it's been a while.
With the cost of new bikes going through the roof machines like this need to be given a chance and serious consideration these days

I want to upgrade the GRX crankset on my allroad bike to a 105 or Ultegra one. I feel like it's starting to get more difficult to find the 11 Speed cranksets in stock in the right crank length and chainring combination. So I'm wondering if there would be any issues using a crankset from the new 12 speed groups on a 11 speed drivetrain? Sorry for the noob question
Turned out nicer than I thought:) It would make a great second bike for me. I've got an old Ultegra 6800 g-set laying around doing nothing. now I'm thinking, use that with mechanical discs. I think I could get it for ~2500 euros all in 0_o which would be amazing, at this point it'd be rude Not to do it hehe.
They have a climbing model, that is uci aproved, with rim brakes, the Vanyar. I have seen very good builds here on youtube. Hitting 6.5kg, with some low weight carbon whellset's

Was all in until the brake caliper debacle. My first disc brake bike had the dreaded rotor rub and it drove my crazy to say the least. I needed to remove my front wheel to transport my bike and lining up the caliper and rotor before every ride was annoying. Otherwise that build turned out amazing.

I love it's look, I see it would be fast, yet way too narrow in application for me, it would shake your teeth out over rough roads, however it would make a great medium distance, fast smooth road Gran Tourismo Rocket, getting it and holding it at speed, in or out of a Peloton, would be a lot of fun, over the right surface that is....then one could stare at it in the spare time.
yes this bike is very very stiff and holds top speed very sturdy, I only do 20-60 mile rides, so it is not an issue

For US market yes is cheap as average salary is 4500$ per month so is no problem to buy bike for this price

@GC Performance...I believe you mentioned your nova2ride OSPW was copper in color and a sram copper chain. Is your OSPW gold or orange? Are there any disadvantages running a Sram chain on Shimano drivetrain?
maybe it doesnt wear as well together and might wear out faster but also the shifs wont be as good underload and you wont take advantage of the hyperglide ++

Nice bike! Still, the Falath Evo strikes me as being designed around a geometry that the majority of people aren't going to use. You either ride a frame with a ridiculously high top tube or you need to stack your bars so high that you could just as well have omitted that bar placement in the first place. For me for instance, I could ride a 59 but would probably still come up too short even with a 130mm stem. Or I get the 61 but I would have to run a shorter stem than usual and I could then probably slam it all the way down but also have less exposed seatpost than normal.

This is an aero bike. The higher stack helps a lot to be aero where you can ride with your elbows paralleled to the ground. Bikes like Orbea Orca and Trek Emonda H2 fit has exactly that +20mm stack. Not many people can ride a slammed H1.5 Emonda with elbows parallel to the ground for a prolonged period of time on the road.
Peak Torque did a video slamming GCN’s video advocating you should slam your stem 😂 in that video, he talked about having a higher stack can be more aero.
What I’m trying to say is, if you want fast, aero and stiff, don’t downsize.
Look at track bikes. -they barely have any seatpost showing.

This bike supports 32 mm wide tyres, which means you can fit tubeless Panaracer Gravelkings. This has made me thinking, whether this is the perfect frame for a very aggressive aero gravel build. Would I be able to fit SRAM Transmission on this frame? God, that would be so badass.
they dont come with gravel handlebars. This is a road bike not a gravel frame

its a non issue, I made a video showiung all the high end bikes made by scott and specialized using the same fiberglass in the forks, this is common in every bike company

yea I found it so shitty, I reached out to them and rotor and both onyl had 11 speed or some had 12 speed but only 50t, that works for the 12 speed I have seen people run, it on th enew 12 speed covers

How cm is your seat height?
Some of the Chinese sizing is hard to work out. I've always ridden a 56cm x120mm stem too as am a similar size. Was looking at one frame and the 52cm was closest to my current bike as the 54cm(XL) was too long in the top tube!

I had a bad experience with chinese frames. And I am not the first... For example I built my T1500 by Winspace and there was a very significant slack in the upper headset bearing landing, so I did an adjustment with brass foil to fill the gap, but I am very disappointend by the QC of these factories.
Interesting take. Also have an Alugear front for my Ultegra 12 speed DI in a one-by setup. Has worked like a charm - no drops or any issues with the propriotory Shimano chain - and the new Shimano Ultegra DI is amazing.
May I ask how much torque was applied to the integrated seatpost clamp? And did you use the provided sandpaper tape for the seatpost? I´m asking beacuse I finally received my frameset and wheelset, after having waited for over 11 weeks. The seatpost is a very tight fit and the recommended specs (10-12nm) for the integrated seatpost clamp seems excessive.
I did 9nm on mine. But mine was a pretty smooth fit.
@@GCPerformance18 Thanks. Elves insists it wont break at 12nm. And I doubt my seatpost would even fit in the frame, if the sandpaper tape is fitted.

Was it just me or did it look like that rear wheel hub might have some tolerance issues/not rotating in a proper circle? Looked like the wheel was bobbing up and down when you freehub'd it at the end. Also I'm extremely surprised at 6 foot you were so comfortable on this bike! Although on a larger 56 frame, I am very surprised you have been using a 120mm stem!

Quirks and customer service aside, I'm convinced this frame isn't really designed for markets outside of the Far East. Or competitive racers for that matter. And that is perfectly okay. Not all frames fit all people. I'm also 6 feet tall myself and I run a 130mm -12 stem on my 56 Allez Sprint which has a frame reach of 398mm. I don't think my bike fit or anatomy is an extreme outlier for racers. Just seems like this frame is too tall and too short. One thing not mentioned was the risk of toe overlap when going down a frame size.
The reason Tarmac SL7s are so popular (besides expensive marketing) is because their frame designs and offered accessories allow for a multitude of body type and bike fits. I'm scratching my head as to why Elves is making such a huge push to market this frame to the USA and UK when the frame isn't exactly suited for such customers. There's a reason you don't see this design among the major brands on the market.
that can be said for every frame though, I think you can get the right size bike in this frame it just might not look what we are use too, your 130mm stem and -12 is an extreme setup and not everyone rides that setup, in many cases people would say just size up.... even though we know that is not the case, and toe overlap is crazy to me, I can make my toe hit the front tire pretty much on every bike size and company when I am riding it, just know how to corner and drop the proper foot into that corner, I have seen so many customers put so much emphasis on that part while test riding a bike and I just say pedal backwards halfway and now you are good. There are plenty of frames out there that just don't work for people but that is why there are option out there and consumers have the choice to buy what they like...if this frame seems off or something that might be a risk for a fit then that is on the consumer to decide whether or not it is a good fit for them and do what is smart with there money..... if I was spending money on a bike this wouldn't be my absolute first choice for a bike I would do my research and then make the educated decision for it after..... But consumers do have to take some kind of responsibility here and do some homework, they are buying a direct to consumer brand bike which they give the measurements online but they want to know if this is going to work for them..... this is the downfall to buying direct to consumer where as a bike store u can go there and test ride it and be certain it is the right fit. buying sight unseen always has its risk

@@GCPerformance18 I ordered from Elves in the UK, which is their European outlet. They **might** ship my order in a week or so. Shipping to Europe takes another 2 weeks. When I finally receive the stuff, it will have taken almost 3 months from ordering to delivery. I ordered the frame in size 52, stock color, no special requests or anything.
