"Dabs" is a great name for a tig welder. Mine would be "Flapdisk".
I do SMAW - so I'm "Chip Slag".
Mine’s "Dip that tungsten like a motherf*cker"
i know im randomly asking but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly lost my login password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Bridger Houston Instablaster ;)
@Robert Lucas i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Well did logo! I remember trying to glob numbers on a dirty frame rail, also remember washing them all off a few times before stamping'm. Thanks Bob and Sean
Watching these video's REALLY makes me want to learn how to weld. Pretty dope watching him weld/draw at the same time as he turns with the lettering.
Oooo snap!! Looking good. Cool episode with special guest dabs. 👊👊
Loving your field work, Mr. Moffatt!!! Good series!
That is freaking awesome. Great job!
Great to see some unusual content, always like the bloopers at the end. Ha

Gorgeous and inspiring.
Chris M thank you
Loved it! Awesome piece
Awesome work, Cant believe the detail.
I've done similar on mild steel with mig, using 0.6mm (.024") wire, 16v and 93/5/2 gas mix
Wow, the level of control he has is just unbelievable
Very nice video. A real work of art. Thank both of you for sharing with us. Dan

Michael the welder glad you liked it, I hope we informed and entertained
Nice work
Speaking just of making the outline, this looks like a good job for those vibrating pencils people use for putting ID on things, Carbide tips are common for them - I would have a really hard time keeping the burr from going off at a tangent here or there, that takes a lot of practice This of course for the folks at home, obviously you have it under control! I wouldn't be able to do any of this, but am minded to try just a straight line on some scrap, definitely clamp it down to a massive plate Good stuff!
You mean an engraver..
wonderful
Nice. I like it.
Going to do this right now!
Justin Voss i have just watched it :-)
very cool
sean is the man, always willing to help with tips and such, what size filler rod?
DnV Auto Performance & Welding 1/16"
thank you, thats what i thought
Wow! 👍
Awesome..
Could a Cool-Mist or just shop air aimed at the back work as well to keep the work cool?
HardwayRanch
Would keep it cool.
But have problems with air vacuums and gas being blown away.
The other is chilling way to fast
very nice
Groovy
Cool video is that Bob Ross's nephew?😁
I would like to see how the outher side of the puddle is melding against the lines of the logo.
Hi, what gas flow are you using?

Great vid! Cup size? Gas flow?
Beautiful work, what sort of amps were you running at?
They stated 74 amps with the pedal in use.
Is this only possible by using a footpedal control the amps?
My machine cant control the amps by footpedal, only on and off
The thick plate which is used to weld the art piece to, should it be stainless steel or simple mild steel is also good? Stainless steel has a lower heat conductivity, so I suppose that mild steel is better from chilling point of view. What do you think?
Bob, I see that you've changed locations for Weld.com; are you still teaching at Cowley College?
Hey guys! Another awesome video with all the dabs. Sean, I was wondering what your amperage was on this piece? I didn’t hear it in the video but maybe I missed it. Great job and thank you!
Is color strictly controlled by heat? Can Argon flow affect color? Is there a temperature guide or common knowledge of what heat produce what color?
William Preston
Colour is basically how hot the steel has gotten.
Different Temps do give different colours
Pretty cool. How do you get the colors in there?
Peter Ford gas coverage, heat input and travel speed
Sean Flottmann Really,,,wow thats interesting. I don't have any stick or mig equipment,, I just use a torch. But was really impressed with the way that came out. Thanks Really nice, by the way.
nice shop like that, i figured there'd be a drycut saw around there....or are you just using the angle grinder because it's more manly?
I need more practice, lots more!
That fantastic work! What filler wire is that? I couldnt quite see.
Mr. greens boat tanks and aluminium welding 1/16 308l
@@seanflottmann148 hey man :) your work is beautiful. I hope to do the same where i live and make it big at my local flea market :). What gauge is that stainless? Thank you for your time :) God Bless.
@@jacobgreer1106 12ga
@@dabswellington4441 thanks man :) Jesus Loves you :)
Absolutely dab-ulous!
👍👍
base material .120? filler 1/16?
✌️
Very cool! BTW the color comes from the chromium oxidizing under high temperature. Different colors represent the different temperatures
I forgot what a blown tack is and can't find the definition of it. If it is a tack that has broke in half then I did that on a test once.
H0dor Broken tack weld
Bob Moffatt awesome thank you the all mighty Bob Moffatt for answering my question
H0dor Hey now...
Bob Moffatt sorry I just look up to you
Yea a lot of the internet community does mate. Bob is one of the best welders around.
I swear I thought that was my shadow box on the thumbnail....it looked just like it...
Bob Moffat was a spoof character in something but I cannot remember which.
Was the travel a figure 8 or just a weave with pause and dab weave pause and dab? The time lapse hid the technical skills.
Mr Wolf more of a zig, zag with a pause and dab.
Thank you. I will have to try it on a similar project as wedding gift.
The B roll is the best hahha nice work guys looks tits
Did he just use some kind of burr tool on the Dremel?
dam
that guy is navy seal material
They used a jail mirror for the canvas
Lol. Those are brushed stainless NOT polished!
Mr Wolf mine was pretty shiny
Not mine... Brushed and abused. Barely see yourself in them.
Homesick? Nope, lounging on my leather sofa with a cold beer!
DONT JUDGE BRAH
Dabs is my homeboy, he just doesn't know it.
Come on
Didn't check if it was square. Tik Tik.
zagan1 We did
2 dimensional artists work from inside the reference frame to out.
Who disliked this?
AuMechanic I don't know why you would think that, you have obviously not seen the price tag on this type of art.
Well I mean if you noticed there can be a lot to learn about stainless steel warpage, using chill blocks, preventing stainless steel discoloration, some layout work, and the list goes on. Most of the metal artists I know also weld full time and then come home to do this as a hobby. It is an extra craft. A way to use your skills for something a little more unique.
Well to me welding is a science and an art form.
You see it that way but when I make a weld I make it like an art piece and perform it properly. Make every weld as perfect and aesthetically pleasing as possible.
AuMechanic
Well let me tell you something, which I'm sure you won't take in, mostly because you are so full of yourself their simply isn't room. 100 years from now nobody will have ever heard of you, but i guarantee you they Will know who painted the Mona Lisa.
The old man makes these videos boring
very cool
