    Just wanted to say thank you! I’ve been working on the standstill for 4 days now. When I started last week, my max was 280 (with a walkup I generally get 280-330 max). Today, day 4, I had 2 over 330 on the field and one off the tee on flat ground at 355! New personally best! I’ve also been trying to get my nose angle down lately too but today I gave up on that and just tried to focus on pulling faster and wow, that def made a huge difference. Again, thank you so much for your help. Set a new personal best for backhand and did it with a standstill! PS, I did have a tailwind on those throws but whatevs, 355 woo!

    As a standstill thrower, you've made me realize how much more effort I'm putting into my throws than is likely needed. I tried emulating your form in my home office area and it feels less strenuous so I imagine my back will appreciate it over time (approaching 40). I hope your future videos show a few more angles as well, ty!

    Great video! I broke my form down to a 1 step tee shot for a year and gleaned similar lessons the hard way.
    The more nuanced takeaways are very helpful to build on, especially keeping the counterweight leg in line with the spine, head position, and avoiding too much flexion in the upper back.

Goal was to hit 400 by the end of last year, didn't make it with my longest being 365, but 400 feels obtainable by summer. Thanks!

    I know you're saying that you're not using any crazy lag/hip strategies, but watching you slow-mo, you definitely have it. I've noticed a huge difference in new players who have done other sports and in those where disc golf may be their first sport. Having played a different throwing sport gives you a pretty big headstart, even if you don't really see it. Point being, it may feel like 'not trying' to viewers who have a sports background but for those of us new to sport, we still very much need to 'try' and get that muscle memory!

I've heard to grip it tight, as if you're intentionally trying to NOT release the disc, but the momentum will forcefully eject the disc out of your hand no matter what. @@BlitzDGI was talking about the other hip. But I am very curious about where your power is coming from when you say you aren’t using muscles, what is driving your throw?

    • @BlitzDG
      @BlitzDG  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@peterd.brauch9848 Obviously any power is coming from muscles when we are starting statically, and what I mean is I'm not TRYING to throw the disc very hard. The power is coming from the timing of converting the power of my weight shift stacked on top of torso and upper body. It's not about trying really hard. It's about syncing things up and getting the arm where it can absorb the most power efficiently.

    Do you aim at 11 O’clock?

    • @BlitzDG
      @BlitzDG  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I aim at the target and the disc rips out where it hits max forces. If your timing is correct it should be on the line your feet set, dependent on where your personal release point is.

    I really like what your content but it’s unfortunately way too long. You drown out all the goods in too many words. You could have provided the same message in half or third the time which would have made it so much more effective and lot more people would finish it.
    It’s not how much you can say about a thing that makes you a good teacher, it’s how simply you can explain it.

      The first throw happens at 16:30 and the vasty majority of instruction is before that. If you don't have 16 minutes to spend on learning form I don't know what to tell you.
