  • DOES YOUR GUY HAVE IRRITABLE MALE SYNDROME?
What's happened to him? Your guy used to be fun, easy-going, and loving. Now, he's moody all the time. He acts like you’ve attacked him when you’ve just asked a question. He snaps at you. He’s not interested in his usual hobbies. He zones out with video games or alcohol. He’s become impossible to live with, and you cannot even talk to him. Your friends and family tell you that he should shape up or ship out - you don't have to live like this.
Your guy might have Irritable Male Syndrome (IMS). There's a real reason behind his behavior, real causes, and real solutions.

In this week's Your Brilliance TV episode, we talk to Dr. Jed Diamond, author of "The Irritable Male Syndrome" and "Male Menopause."
Dr. Diamond is a licensed psychotherapist with a Ph.D in International Health and Master’s degree in Social Work. His passion is to help men and their families live a fully authentic life, love deeply and well, learn to survive and thrive the transformations occurring in the post Covid-19 era, and heal disconnection and make a positive difference in the world. For 50 years, he has been a pioneer in the field of gender-specific medicine and men’s health.
He shares with us the causes behind a man's transformation from a loving partner into "Mr. Mean." He helps us see that biological causes, such as low testosterone or changes in brain chemistry caused by a low-carb diet, can cause irritability.
Even more importantly, he provides a way for partners to open up a conversation about his anger and irritability without condemnation or judgment.
His irritable male quiz has helped over 60,000 men understand themselves better - and women understand the men they love but can't live with.
It can help to know that you don't just have an angry husband or an angry boyfriend. There's a low testosterone anger link. He may not be eating enough carbs. He may be struggling with stress or changing roles.

@@YourBrillianceSo glad he said this. I’m dealing with not only the Irritable Male. He’s Depressed & Narcissistic. He just threatened domestic violence on me in front of our 3 & 5 year old grandsons over a cancelled VUDO account. I’m getting out after 38 years of dealing with his crap.

How does this only have 770 views?!?! This video and the concepts in it are a game changer for me and hopefully my family too in turn. Thank you so much for sharing this. I will be doing all I can to share it with others.

So glad it was helpful! I am in awe of the work Dr. Jed Diamond is doing - both for men and for the women who love them. Just recently he created a course for women who want to know how they can support men through this. If you can, check out his many books! Dr. Diamond is the real thing. :)

I'm only 20 years old and experienced pretty much what IMS described. Took the quiz and scored 46. At least I have a point to start working on myself. Probably going to send this to my dad too lol.

That's wonderful, Linda! I, too, have been on a roll since learning about "irritable male syndrome" and have been sharing it with as many people as possible. I think about all the marriages that fall apart in midlife, and to think that the solution could be as simple as boosting testosterone or going off that low-carb diet ... it's pretty incredible!

Are autistic people (points to self) at risk for this as well

Hi, Christopher! From what I understand, this is not the same. The link between autism and irritability is not hormonal, whereas Irritable Male Syndrome is related to andropause or low testosterone.
