NPD tends to go unnoticed but all those angry middle aged masculine women are a good example. If one of your aged parents are like this keep an eye on the others wellbeing because they can be totally neglected and abused when they fall sick and nobody else knows about it.
This makes sense. I think dementia can also play a role too. My grandpa got to a point to where he didn't want to see nobody and didn't want anybody at his funeral when he was dieing. When I was a child we were so close, but as time went by he just became more irritable and more antisocial. By the time I was 30 and he was 80 and on his death bed he didnt remember anybody and he didn't want nobody at his funeral. He even put it in his will.

Employed at assistant living , they are crabs. One comes up behind me and pretends to straggle me or air punch. Another was kicked out of 7 other facilities. Even assholes can get old.

I think people get old and just use it as an excuse to be jerks
I think this is the saddest thing in the world, especially for aging narcissists and parents who were horrid to their children: old age, loneliness, realizing the mistakes you could have avoided in your life, dying alone. But it makes you think: when it's your time, how will you reflect on the time you've spent?
Was it worth it being so mean and nasty to people when you were younger? Did you do what you set out to do? Do you know who you are? Did you get what you wanted out of life? Was it worth it all, being so miserable and hurtful to other people, only to end up a shell of yourself and with body aches/pain?
In the end, I have zero sympathy or pity for the aging/elderly narcissist or complainer. Karma doesn't sleep or forget an address, and they all eventually fade into obscurity as the world progresses and moves on without them.
Or maybe they're grumpy because they've been through a lot in life, and seen a lot of the things that the world brings, which are mostly bad. They grew up in times of depression, war, and a lot of hardship. And a lot of them lose hope when they reach old age, and this is how they become. But how can you really blame them? With the way times are now (even before the pandemic) the world wasn't much of great place when you really think about it.

Keep that shit at home, this world will always be cruel get curbed if you think you're entitled just cause you've been through hardships. Line up in the queue like everyone else.

I call my dad "Grumpy Grizzly" from the Berenstain Bears episode, where the kids at school make a mess and Grumpy Grizzly the janitor has to constantly mop the floor with no appreciation whatsoever.

Pretty certain a family member has it and is extremely grumpy 😡 hard to be around
It's not just men, there is an increasing number of middleaged masculine women that act the same way if not even worse because society tends to want women to act manly
