I say he beat Jones in their first fight and beat DC as well.
As a Swedish fan, him beating the brakes off of Glover in front of his home crowd after he got bonked by Rumble was one hell of a redemption arc.

Reminder, he had just arguably won against the lhw prime Jones but lost ud, then won against Blachowichz and did this to Teixeira, both future lhw champions. Came so close to winning against Dc as well. How has this man never become champ

Gus Gustafon may have never become champion, but he had the quintessential fight any fighter could ever ask for. He 1) Put on a beautiful display of precise striking 2) In his native land 3) Proposed to the love of his life right after. Him and Leon Edwards are top of the list for real life Rocky type moments in the octagon.
Glover has always had a problem with uppercuts,rumble also knocked him out with that and jones connected some good ones on him too.
The miss watching The Mauler fight so much, win or lose he always managed to impress.

Crazy to look back on how both guys careers went after this fight. Gustafson was never the same after losing his next fight to Jones. Glover on the other hand persevered and eventually won the belt.
That three uppercut combo was some mortal kombat type stuff. Gus is so cool.

Gustafsson had the skill and patience, he is one of the most legendary fighters to ever do it in that division. All he lacked was the aggression but he still messed ppl up pretty brutally.

I hated how much shit gus got after this fight for backing off like it's against the rules. Wrestlers and bjj guys can hold a guy for 15 min and it's considered neutralizing but getting space in a striking war is considered cowardly.

If Gustafsson had a better kicking game he could've become the champ at one point in time.
That High kick to the head is what JBJ used to sink DC with. If Gustafsson could kick as well as Bones history might have been written differently.
Still can't believe that Glover only sank AFTER 4 rounds. How he survived all those mortar fires for so long is incredible. He certainly has an iron dome for a head.

Glover is like MMA's Foreman. He somehow got tougher with age and mileage. And Gustafsson literally turned obsolete the moment he got married. Gained 40lbs in fat and lost motivation. Hasn't won a fight since Glover. Rocky Balboa was right. Women make your legs weak.

Teixeira head movement is just absent in this fight and his stance is awful. Staying frontal with chin out and hands not tucked to it is the recipe for disaster. Especially against one of the best strikers in the division.Ate every single jab and uppercut.
