    Thanks for the great video. I just got same setup and made it work. BTW you don't have to cut and solder yellow wire (so called forced PPM). If you leave it as it is it will use iBus. iBus is not supported by Byme-A but once you bind it to the TX, once connected and red LED is on, long press Bind button - this will switch from iBus to sBus which is supported by Byme-A. After that everything should work. I hope this helps someone.

    Posted this on the forums Blowy, but will add it here for the video-only punters. ;-)
    Used the 'Special Functions" feature on the Radiomaster TX16S OpenTX radio to create a different modes set-up that more suits us Old Coots.
    Put "Stabilized, self-leveling with angle limits", Stabilized, self-leveling with no angle limits", and "Gyro, wind correction only" on a single 3-position switch. Then added an over-ride function on another switch to force the "Hover" mode on and finally a third switch to force the Stab to "Manual." Used a 3-position on the "not up" command for the "Hover" (a 2-position would be better) and a 2-position for the "Manual". *A finger-held momentary 2-position would be best.)

    Great video! Thank you. Strange question on the Byme-A the negative is on the bottom for all plugins, however, I can only get the FLYSKY FS-A8S to light up if I plug it in with the black (neg) on the top then red, then yellow. Even then I can’t get any channels to move. Is your FS-A8s plugged in upside down? I have a Radiomaster Zorro multi-protocol and bind it using your settings but when I bind it keeps beeping and slow flashing until I manually stop binding then it goes solid. Not sure if my Byme-A is bad or not. I also get the same results with a cm410X receiver but it has to be plugged in normally (black down). Still, no channels work.

    Thanks for the great video, I have a question about the ailerons setup. Since the stabilizer only has one channel for aileron and you have two aileron servos, did you use a y-cable to connect the two aileron servos with the Byme-A?

    Hello, I have a question . In manual mode, the ailerons and rudder deviate as expected, to the desired angle, and in the Stabilization and Gyro modes this is barely noticeable (I'm talking about compensation for changes in the position of the aircraft). Is it possible to customize?

    Do you have to initialize the gyro every time before you fly by moving the sticks? ...or just the once? Also, why do you have the elevator set to -100 in Mixes?

    Now..I have a question..
    Can the rudder be added to the Ailarons for turning..so that turning will be easier with out manuely using the rudder stick to turn..what do you think..???
    PS..I
    Truly like your upgrades to these rc rtf planes..yous install instructions are better then most..👍👍👍👍👍..so I will be waiting for your response to that question about mixing the rudder to the Ailarons..

    You are still using the A8S receiver PPM output Blowy. It will work with the Byme stabs but it probably is better to switch the S-bus output on from the A8S and use that. (It comes default set to i-bus.) I can't remember what all the advantages are. (1 was that S-bus receivers automatically recognize a loss of signal and I think that they work faster than PPM but don't quote me on that.) Looking forward to putting the same combo on our Eachine Flying Fish that finally turned up. Also plan on trying a twin motor set up (scaled up a bit) on our $10 Kmart chuck gliders when some other bits turn up.

      @@blowy48flyrc Byme-A added to the little twin Fish. Flies a treat on 3s 850 Turnigy with CoG on the nubs. Flies quite happily on 2s 1300 but too big to have the canopy on.
      Also set (ch 7 on a 3-position switch) to get Hover and Acro Modes as well. When we switch to center 0 on ch 7 (1500us) it remains on Manual/Gyro/Self Level Stabilizer on ch 5 so those odd figures in that manual might be partly right at least. Switching to -100 (988us) goes to Manual/Acro/Hover on ch 5 though so that doesn't tally with that manual.
      Used your scheme of multiple bits of foam tape to mount the stab and cinch it down with a tie over top foam and out around a little ply reinforcement under the fuse. Works a treat! 👍👍🙂

      You certainly are! The Byme-A and D stabilizers have NEVER included any receiver! You always have to provide your own PPM or S-bus output capable receiver. It also MUST put out AETR channel order. 😉

    • @theoztreecrasher2647
      @theoztreecrasher2647 Před rokem

      Yep, mate. Works perfectly. You can use the PPM output from the A8S or switch the A8S to output S-bus instead of i-bus (as described in the A8S manual) - either will drive the Byme-A. Remember to select the correct output mode in your FX-i6X settings. You have a 3-position and a 2-position switch to assign to channels 5 and 7 to control the Byme-A modes.

    That manual you show there isn't quite the same as the 1 on the current RadioLink website, Blowy. Also I don't quite understand how you are getting the choice of modes that you describe without setting channel 7 to a switch that will give you +/-100 to select between Stabilize (Self-leveling with 45degree pitch limits and 70degree roll limits) - Acrobat (Self-leveling with no limits) - and fully Manual.
    OR Vertical hovering - Gyro (Rate mode with no self-leveling and only wind deflection compensation) - and fully Manual. EDIT 2 Actually the positions for "Acrobat" and "Gyro" modes ARE transposed.
    The only way that I can see that you would get the first group without setting up a ch7 switch would be if your Tx channel 7 was outputting way outside its center position of 1500us. (It does happen!)
    EDIT...Actually I just checked 1nformatica's video on the Byme-A and he shows the same manual as yours. The 1 that I got from some link (may have been an old 1 from an Aliexpress sale site) was showing the Gyro and Acro mode positions inverted. I think that mine may be from an old version since I seem to remember Quadcopter101 saying that he found the switch positions for some modes to be incorrect when he reviewed the RadioLink A560 3-D plane. The question about needing ch7 still valid though. Also those output range figures in your manual are really weird - should look more like 988us to 1300us, 1300us to 1700us and 1700us to 2012us surely?

    • @blowy48flyrc
      @blowy48flyrc  Před 2 lety

    • @ebg4614
      @ebg4614 Před 2 lety +1

      I had the same problems and questions like you but I set up like in the video and it worked for me just using chanel 5 for the 3 modes I needed.: estabilized, acro and manual ( like in betaflight or inav) although they call the modes differently in the manual what they actually do is that,

      @@ebg4614 Thanks for that, mate. As luck would have it I just picked up another Byme-A and a receiver from the Post Office this afternoon. Thus I'll have a go at setting it up tomorrow with my TX16S.
      The only thing that I can think of is, if the channel 7 output range for the Byme-A to select 1 half of the possible channel 5 selections really IS 1300 to 2000 as in that manual. That would then be possible because (with the S-bus input) 8 channels would normally be available and (with no extra Tx settings) ch7 would be at the 1500 midpoint. Enough to trigger the Byme-A into the 3 modes stated. Have to do some testing. Keeps the few remaining brain cells active. ;-)
