    The A6M Zero was a long-range fighter aircraft operated by the Imperial Japanese Air Service. In early combat operations, the Zero gained a legendary reputation as a 'dogfighter' remaining king of the air until around 1943. The aircraft was designed with long range and performance in mind, durability and pilot protection were not considered priorities and this led to many very good pilots to loose their lives. Ultimately this resulted in an Allied advantage later in the war.

    I have this plane and I found, as some have, that it requires a fairly significant amount of nose weight to balance it. With lead on the cowl it flew wonderfully.

    Nice looking plane! Two suggestions....(1) fill a very small balloon with water (about the size of a small cigar) and freeze it. Place in next to the electronics. Amazing how it keeps it cool. (2) You can get Golf club weights through Amazon (pack of thirty) which are fantastic strips which can be cut and placed in some very tight spaces. Happy Flying.

      @@blowy48flyrc no problem brother. Your videos are not just about flying but teaches so much more about the hobby self (setup, build, unboxing, spraying, gyro etc).....This helps a lot and makes your channel very special :)

    This one looks good mate because the original zero only has a 3 blade prop..with the yellow tips..the zeros that attached pearl harbor. Had
    No yellow on the tips on the propellers..they were just plain aluminum in color..with just a thin red stripe close to the tip of the propellers..if you paint that on the propellers..it will look even better..and more authentic. My good friend..and PS..MAKE YOUR SELF A FOLDING CARD BOARD TAKE OF LANDING PAD AND THAT WILL COVER YOUR GROUND TAKE OFFS AND LANDINGS. SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE LANDING GEAR GETTING DAMEGED ON GRASS TAKE OFFS AND LANDINGS...WHAT DO YOU THINK MY GOOD FRIEND..???

    • @blowy48flyrc
      @blowy48flyrc  Před 2 lety

      The zero were ahead of their time with aluminium prop blades and I don't think I could land on a piece of cardboard I'm not that talented but take off's would be nice

    Cut the holes/slots in side of fueslage for air, if it's a bit thin just reinforce it on inside with a bit of Balsa/plywood 👍

    • @blowy48flyrc
      @blowy48flyrc  Před 2 lety

      Yes great idea to reinforce around the cutting thanks I have been trying to find something to look like exhausts to put on sides

    • @hec-haul
      @hec-haul Před 2 lety +1

      For the exhaust, if you have an old small carbon tube laying around cut some exhaust tips. maybe paint them silver/grey or something.

    I'm gonna call its that propeller, My F4u uses the 4 blade and it will haul a$$ , then ill use a 2 blade and ill notice like a 30% decrease in speed at 100%. If its motor shaft diameter is 3mm maybe test out a 4 blade prop from fms 800mm series? Cheers! Great Vid!

    • @blowy48flyrc
      @blowy48flyrc  Před 2 lety

      I think it is a bit over powered so a 2 blade is the way to go

    use a higher rated esc.

      Yes weight is a problem so I thought about the 30amp in the zohd its tiny

    why does this model need so much ballast.? btw, whenever a manufacturer puts a 'scale' prop on a model that should have an E prop, there is a risk of weirdness. of some sort.

  • @daviddavids2884
