  • Disney Star Wars The Acolyte is Leslye Headland's Star Wars show for Disney+ featuring Amandla Stenberg. But as The Acolyte was created specifically for her, what can we learn about the tone of Disney Star Wars The Acolyte from her past interviews. Is The Acolyte worth watching?

Star Wars The Acolyte will be Disney's attempt to kickstart a new Star Wars era in live action. But as Amandla Stenberg was specifically chosen to lead the show, with The Acolyte being designed for the actress before she was even contacted by Disney. The question is why? What was it about Amandla that Leslye Headland thought was so important. The interviews are eye opening, the kind of activism that would make Rachel Zegler blush and have to steady herself on the couch. With this being the history that The Acolyte was made to showcase, it's not looking good for the High Republic show in my opinion. But what do you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

I'll always remember former NBA Vet+Champion Shane Battier saying he struggled growing up cuz he wasn't white enough for the white crowd, and he was too white for the black crowd. But he's never spoken ill of his heritage. Tay Zonday said he grew up in a loving biracial household where he really didn't even know much about race or racism, cuz his parents didn't obsess over it. Meanwhile, you have people like Paula Patton agreeing that the term biracial is offensive and she doesn't consider herself biracial; just black. Also Justice Smith, etc....

War is an inherently male endeavor. Women tend to run away and cower from danger. I know this because the unspoken and forbidden truth of 9/11 is exactly that happened. And while we are required to acknowledge that there are women in uniform, anybody who's been around them knows that they're not held to the same standards but still get the same awards, recognition and promotions. This places them in positions of authority over men, who resent--rightfully--having to answer to and obey a person who _objectively_ didn't earn the rank and authority that men did.
It's no surprise at all now that women too young and inexperienced to have earned anything are now in positions of authority over a property which earned its stripes over decades.

I 100% reject the idea that America is racist. I am living proof that it is not. If you put in the work, honestly, you will be rewarded regardless of your genetic make up. Most of the people in this day and age want to take the easy road without the work. Actual black suffering in America was brutal... but even during those times my people have community, family structure and overall togetherness. The problems black Americans suffer today is self inflected. It's not some Klan member coming to terrorize you or some systemic racism... it's Pookie and/or Ray Ray shooting you.

Actual human suffering continues to be brutal across the globe. China is quite fond of this apparently. But these people cannot wait for the West to become exactly like this. It's weird how that works, in their pursuit of wokeness they achieve being a racebaiting, bigoted, sexist, virtue signaling N@zi... At the very least if you take their words and actions at face value. We in Germany learned a lot about that in schools, yet it seems to happen to us right now, again, pretty much.

I’m a multi racial lady of various minorities and had worked my way up into college graduating in medical lab. I have more opportunities and options than most people who are white and struggling. One of the things I noticed in college is some of the women getting the best grades and live with a high socioeconomic status family were the ones complaining about not having opportunities and being oppressed. That says a lot!
While there are exceptions, I have yet to see women who are poor or actually oppressed carry any type of victim mindset. Even my whole father’s side of the family who is black and grew up during the time busses were separated by race never once acted like victims or felt privileged above others. They all are living with luxuries thanks to their hard work during times they had less opportunities I had. I truly don’t understand these people in Hollywood or my college.

In the old days, actors had "handlers", reps from the studios that kept them on a tight leash. They knew that the studio's reputation mattered, and the public perception of the actors influenced box office numbers. These handlers kept an eye on them, kept them out of controversy, and that distance meant that the actors had a bit of mystique to them, an air of mystery and aloofness.
Modern day, the most untalented hacks, many of whom never even graduated let alone went to college open their pieholes about EVERYTHING and think they're some kind of savant in every facet of life. The greatest actors actively DIDN'T insert themselves into roles, they disappeared in the role and became the CHARACTER. Being typecast was a fate worse than death, they sought out difficult roles that forced them to become someone else.

Would anyone like to read my Essay? It's long but i can promise you it's insightful. I think they'll dodge the bullet where Yoda is concerned, he may get mentioned, or the show may actually even open with him, but if so it will be to show Yoda being called away on some very urgent mission of somekind.
there is no other way around this but to just avoid it altogether, but that's IF you're being *Respectful* to CANON.
Now i may be unfairly jumping to conclusions here and assuming too much, but i remember Leslie Headland talking about how she really admires Rian Johnson as a "Filmaker" now she is only talking about how he makes his films, yet i just find it very interesting that Leslie mentions Rian; not Favreau, not Denis Villenuve, but Rian Johnson, the man who made "the last jedi". A movie that literally character assassinated the iconic *Luke Skywalker*.
So back to the question of Yoda's appearance in this here Acolyte series. Let's just assume Leslie and her story group don't respect the canon, and they aim to shake things up, much like Rian Johnson did. One way you would go about this would be to make it where Yoda played a part in "covering" up something.
So let's delve into this idea further, there's all this talk around show about sometimes the "bad guys" are really kinda good and sometimes the "good guys" are actually kinda bad. If we have a good look at the trailer of the Acolyte and the recently released character info of all the main players involved in this series; you could say the emotionally conflicted Jedi master shown teaching those younglings, and Carrie Anne-Moss's character (also a Jedi Master) most likely took one of the twin sisters at a young age to be trained as a Jedi.
Because Leslie Headland said something about the Jedi of this era, that they think they're in the right in their actions and the things they do. the two 20-something actresses - Amandla Stenberg and Dafne Keen are playing twin sisters in this show. Judging from the picture of Stenberg's character, she is playing the Assassin who is taking on Carrie Anne Moss's Jedi Master, in that martial-arts heavy scene in the trailer.
From what i've learned from trailers that show a character appearing to basically be kicking alot of ASS, the way a trailer is shot is nearly always the complete opposite to how the actual scene goes down in the movie or show itself. So i'm going to guess that the eventual outcome of that fight scene results in Carrie Anne Moss's character being killed by Stenberg's Assassin character. She is the one "murdering Jedi" in this series.
the Japanese guy playing that other Jedi Master who goes out and investigates these murders and apparent abductions of Jedi, the one who is described as "Emotionally unstable", sounds quite extreme for a "Jedi". He i am guessing is in that state because of *Guilt*. that he was the one who took one of those twin-sister characters; leaving the other behind, this inturn splitting up those twins traumatized the other twin, played by Amandla Stenberg, who grew up to become a Assassin, and who is now getting revenge on the Jedi, by carrying out all the murders.
So who is Dafne Keen's character and what is she all about? She is the chosen twin sister, taken at a young age and trained as a Jedi, she is reunited with the Jedi Master dude; and will eventually cross paths with her traumatized twin sister. It is Stenberg who is taken and trained by a Sith, to become their "Acolyte". But maybe the twist could well be that Dafne Keen's Jedi sister, is forced to stop her corrupted, traumatized twin sister; maybe she defeats her and ends up herself turning to the darkside.
Now for who exactly is the "Sith" in question here, that figure who swung that red lightsaber and caught it at the end of the trailer? I will guess it's either one of a few Jedi, or were "abducted", the ones who resisted the Sith turning them were killed, the ones who gave in, obviously added to the Sith number.
I also recall Leslie Headland saying that her team of writers the "Lucasfilm Story group" borrowed from the EU, so i would guess what they "borrowed" was the Sith Lord "Darth Plageuis", because there was also mention of very few, small "fan-service" and nods here and there. I'm pretty sure Lucasfilm and Leslie Headland know full well their show, set at the tail-end of the "High Republic" will need somekind of big, draw to get as many Fans excited and onboard as possible; looking at the timeline it really kind of adds up, that Darth Plageuis is the "Sith" in question, pulling the strings from afar, in the shadows. Even his novel (now non-canon part of the EU) went into how he was a very shadowy figure, manipulating things without the Jedi Order ever picking up on his presence.
And "Disney Starwars" do like to "re-inject" certain well known characters into their own live-action Canon. E.g. Cobb Vanth, Saw Guerra, Cad Bane, Bo Katan, Ahsoka and now Grand Admiral thrawn.
And so back to this issue of Yoda, if pretty much most of what i've said is correct, AND we're still exploring the idea that Leslie and her story group don't much care to Respect Canon, then it is possible they would do a character assassination of sorts on the Grand Master Jedi *Yoda*, and make it where Yoda eventually becomes aware of these events, and decides to play his part in covering them up.
Afterall Leslie Headland is thought to not be much of a starwars fan at all, she has the "Lucasfilm Story Group" at her disposal, and those people are all Kathleen Kennedy's flying monkeys, it cannot be denied this is exactly the kind of idea they would go for; afterall they ALL signed off on Rian Johnson's idea, to turn Luke Skywalker into a pitiful, cowardly hermit who left his sister at the mercy of Snoke and his First Order, if we go on the last jedi backstory. Not one in that story group told Rian that would be a very bad idea.
If this is what is established, i can guarantee you it will not go down well with a majority of passionate Starwars Fans who are very protective of the *Lore* George Lucas worked hard to establish. It would also make everyone who has then seen the Acolyte go back and analyze Yoda in the prequel movies; his expression and overall behaviour in ep1, ep2 and ep3 does not look anything like someone who is guilty of covering up some past tragedy.
Also very convenient that Disney are re-releasing the Prequel trilogy in Cinemas, and those movies will include a "Sneak Peak" at the upcoming Acolyte series.
I'm not watching this show but i hope i'm wrong.
