@@sharpnova2 I played Max Payne 3 last year after the first two games and I will admit 3 had a very good soundtrack and slow mo set pieces but I can see how that turns off the dark noir vibe.

This is one of the most epic games that one could ever feel... Yes you feel it the max Payne franchise will always be the best... Some original max Payne fans dislike it but hey how much New York and noir theme do we want this is something new at its Best and plus there are two flashback chapters where you get vintage max so you also have an old-school pinch... What else do you want!
don't get the fans wrong they kinda hate it because of the last game where at the end max is starting to heal his wonds of his lost ones that is all this would be better if they made max like he has to deal again with something to pull him back in that state that is all over all this game is epic i was like feeling like die hardish kinda game wich i liked it but on my opinion i would give it a 9/10 because it didn't had any of the conections from the game max payne 2 the fall of max payne so it was a good game i am a fan of the old and new this game was epic in action and as i said it was die hardish hell at some times i saw max looking like john Mclane ^^
They moaned about the lack of 'noir' thinking they knew what they were talking about. Noir is a tone and 3 was as much a noir as the other the genre has locales everywhere in the work not just cliche old new york

you're all wrong.. the game was hated because of the atrocious, flickering, seizure inducing camera filter effects. Get rid of that and this could be the best Max Payne.
This game was so sad to watch because of Max getting beat down twice as hard compared to the old games and I hated to see him in the mental state he is in. This game is a good combination of action, story driven and suspense which is rare because I’ve never played a game beside RDR2 that had me invested in the protagonist

you can borrow videos games at libraries? the game studio was shutdown by rockstar, rockstar vancouver was shutdown because of it's sales during 2012, no luck for another maxpayne game. It's still an amazing game on steam tho it looks better than so many new games despite almost being half a decade old.
WILLPORKER Remedy (the creators of the original Max Payne and assisted in the making of Maxo Payne 3) showed interest in making Max Payne 4. So there is still hope

When I played MP3, 3:58 was such a nice moment that I had to include it in my channel trailer. Not the most original of gaming moments - but was damn epic nonetheless.
It also seems like Rockstar likes to use slow motion in their games and that slow motion sound,sounds similar to gtav
@@ph4ntomxdg950 well Rockstar themselves made the slow motion (bullet time) first starting from Max Payne 1 so they might as well use it. It's normal that they'd use it in shooter games. GTA 5 has it, RDR2 has it.

The rest (a lot of people, even though the game didn't get so much sales) found it freaking awesome. Like me. The story is great, the characters are extremely good, the cutscenes are perfect and the shooting mechanics are one of the best I've ever seen.

Yes, absolutely right. When he went into the favela. That was awesome. Perfect location. I don't know any other game that has that ambient. First you see the rich ones, and then you see the poor ones. It's sad that that this is reality.
Hi Sir. I am a MP1&2 fan and I dislike MP3. Because the character lost its essence. MP2 is wonderfull "roman noir" story which includes love, death and bad endings for the lovers. MP3? It is a mix between "Man on Fire" and "Die Hard" (the ridiculous numbers of ennemy Max is killing throughout the story). There is no surprise about the missing poeple and the human traffic, so it was obvious. Then TWICE you begins with a chapter with a silencer. To do what ? kill the first one and then you just have to leave the "furtive" mode. Well... I ended the game with something like : How did they dare to call this a Max Payne ' game ?

Gccmrc I'm a fan of all the MP episodes and I especially love the third one. The realism, story and character depth that Rockstar injected in this story, it's simply amazing. MP 1 & 2, despite the great stories, had quite an arcade vibe to them. I never really liked the graphic-novel style for the longer story-telling as a kid, with the passing of time I managed to appreciate them for what they were, even though they were a cheap way of evading expensive cut-scene development.
When it came to the enemies, they were quite generic in MP 1 & 2, even more so in the second. Character design was awfull, even for those days. The difference between the main characters and the NPC's was just to significant. All you had to do in MP2 was mow down endless hordes of cleaners. The way Remedy pictured "the fall of Max Payne" didn't really work out for me eather, the more the story progressed, the less I it conected me with Max. In the beginning, it was pitty for him that kept me playing, in the end it progressed into contempt. And Mona? She just made me nervous.
No I love the dept Rockstar gave us with Max. I love how they pictured him, a broken man. After nearly 10 years, I had no trouble at all picturing myself in his place, despite the love-hate relation I developped with him. The surroundings in MP3 were wonderfully developped, Brazil awed me with wonder. The fact that the lines of the NPC's were not dubbed when they were conversing in Portuguese, actually sparked a great deal of interessed in the language on my side.
All in all, MP3 was a thundering expierence to play through. I do feel sorry the lack of appreciation of some sections of the fanhood, brought Rockstar into canceling the fourth installment. MP3 is a gem and I'll never let it get out of my heart.
I've played only MP1 but I wanna get MP3, it's a great game even in 2017

All of these stunts are nothing we've ever seen Max do before and yet it still seems like something he would do. There were so many ways to screw this game up and they just didn't do it.

Rockstar knows how to make good shooting, but they should really learn from something like Valve about how to tell stories without taking control away from the player. There are hours of unnecessary cutscenes in Max Payne 3, sometimes even just for Max opening a single door and walking through. The worst thing about it is that Rockstar never bothered to fix the prompt to skip cutscenes. It loads data during the cutscenes but doesn't let you skip even when it's finished loading. -Which makes 20 minutes of fun shooting contain an extra 90 minutes of Max pushing elevator buttons.

Yeah I hated the times where they seem to randomly give and take control of Max away several times in a single cutscene, and if you don't move/shoot, you die. It was confusing so I just resorted to occasionally moving the stick in every cutscene.

uncharted and max payne have a lot of differences,but max payne its better,the shooting its realistic and the physics are awesome thanks to euphoria and RAGE,the animations are better and the gameplay generally felt good and realistic,the shooting and the repetition of classic movie scenes ruined the fun in uncharted for me,the extreme repetition of "the building gets destroyed,run drake,run!" scenes or the "the way is blocked go and climb over there" scenes,it is a very good game but max payne its better and has more replay value,more game modes and the shooting never gets old thanks to euphoria real time animations.

nostalgia recall: i had max payne 1 demo sitting on my pc forever back in the day. when i finally got around to playing it, i was like holy shit!! why didn't i play this earlier?! got retail and after beating it, i found myself playing it over and over with the linkin park hybrid theory album. when i got to the last level, it would be the last song on the linkin park lp. it became a ritual. good times. good series. let's not even bring up that dope ass matrix mod that came out before any matrix game was made.
