I wish people would play the sound their dishwasher makes before showing the fix. We go through all this trouble only to find out the noise we were trying to fix never existed 😕
Thanks Brian!! This is exactly what happened to ours and your video helped me fix it in 10-15 mins (had to disconnect water hose to be able to pull out from countertop). Nearly identical piece of wood lodged in and dishwasher is now running great. Thank you!!
Thanks for the video! Mine was giving me a drain error code 5C but it wasn't making a noise. I pulled off the impeller using your instructions and found some plastic wrapper around the impeller shaft.
Thanks, I found a toothpick in my dishwasher at the same spot you did. It took less 15 to fix from taking out the dishwasher and putting it back. Really easy and helpful.
Hey man! Just wanted to say thanks! I am in know ways a handy man. I was about to drop $800 in a new dishwasher literally looking on best buy until I tried your tip. Found a plastic piece in there and cleared up the grinding and 5E error. Thanks again!
Thank you! Had a wooden chopstick break and was causing the grinding noise. Thought I might be out a couple hundred bucks, but ended up costing me just 15 minutes of my evening. Nice. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this video! There was nothing aparent stuck in mine but the drain motor with the impeller had broken. So after following this video and realizing i just ordered the part off ebay used and im back in business. Saved my family alot of $$. Thank so much for this video once again. Very helpful!
I'd of never of thought to turn that white plastic piece. It was quite hard to turn (I'd of thought I was going to break something if I'd not seen you turn it in the video) In my case, it was a plastic tine from a plastic fork..... FYI, my dishwasher did not have a screw in place on that bottom cover either. I've not put mine back together yet, I'm sure that plastic tine was causing my issue. Thank you for posting this. Samsung support... punted on the issue and referred my out of warranty dishwasher to a local repair shop, who I'm guessing would of charged me > $100 to do what it took me 10 minutes to do.
That's a valid question Dark Horse. It wasn't until after I fixed the problem that I decided to make a video. I guess I was so excited that I had found the problem, it didn't occur to me to put the piece of wood back into that chamber so I could film the sound.
Nice! You need a cameraman or a third hand. I think I know what I’ll be finding inside my impeller. Pieces of plastic knives, spoons, and forks. My wife likes to reuse them rather than throw them away so she loads them into the dishwasher. 🤦♂️
Mine too. It used to just do it for a couple of seconds like it was sensing what’s in the dishwasher. Now it goes on for a while longer. Trying to figure out what’s wrong with it.
@@WildBison74 This fixed my problem, I had chipped a glass when putting it in dishwasher and the chip made its way past the screens right into the motor, about 3/4” x 1/2”.

Wish I knew what the sound was like, then I'd know if I should bother doing what you did.
If i can't find anything else, I'll try it. Thx.
Was thinking the same thing. Trying to identify my problem and would have liked to hear the “grinding” noise.
Thank u really needed this at 2 am😎 like and subscribe
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! AMAZING
why didn't you post the noise so people could even identity that their washer has the same issue?????

@00:50 what part is that?
My dishwasher starts making a noise as soon as the cycle starts. Could this solve the problem ?
