Thanks so much and welcome!
This is three years old. How well are these holding up to the weather and water? Nice simple design. I think I'll skip the plugs but that was certainly a nice touch.
Holding up great! I'd put on a good finish to preserve the cedar color, myself. But otherwise, they just got planted again and are doing great. Thanks!
That’s by far the best diy raised garden bed video!!
Is there any alternative for the cedar lumber? It’s super expensive and hard to find it, probably due to corona.
Thank you! Depending on your area, you could use redwood. But yeah, all lumber prices are currently up right now, mostly due to Covid.
Hell ya
🌱
its beautiful, but at almost $200 per planter box (2x6x8 cedar $35.00 each 2x4x8 cedar $20.00 each) not counting the pocket hole jig and deck screws, that's not feasible for a gardener on a budget, could you make something that won't break the bank but still give a similar esthetic and weather resistant attributes?
Use pine instead of cedar. It is much cheaper but will not hold up to the elements as well.
Coming to this video from Matriarchy Build! I want to build one of these in the winter as a Christmas present. Do you have any suggestions for how to store it or protect it during the snow until planting season? (I presumably wouldn’t bring in soil until then.)
So happy to hear that you came over from MB and welcome! It should be fine outside but if you like, you could cover it with a tarp to protect it. Should be fine. Enjoy your garden!
Any tips for adding a little bit of a ledge these raised beds? Something that would support sitting while working in the beds. Thanks!
Hmm. For that, I'd probably add in some extra supports on the inside or outside to support a horizontal ledge. And then I'd just screw the ledge in from the top. Hope this helps!
This was an awesome video! This build was great! Also, do you mind telling me what camera equipment you use also?
Thanks so much! I'm using a Canon 90d. It's a great camera
@@MakerGray Thank you for responding!! Do ever have any problem with saw dust getting in the lens or anything? Or do you have a tripod keeping it far away? You have great angles!
Nice job! I’d love to have one but I’d just kill everything.
Thanks! Haha
Did you lay something down before filling in your soil? I'm putting ours on grass and heard we didn't need to but what do you recommend?
I did! I used landscape cloth. A year later, it has been great at keeping the grass from growing up into the garden. I recommend it.
@@MakerGray thanks! Will do!
