This is a sheet bend! Nicely tied 👏👏👏the knot to use if the ropes have different diameters. The reef knot is the most common way to join two ropes together but....... if they are different diameters the knot will fail!......great vid

Беседочный и двойной беседочный, самое главное разочарование, что данные два узла служат для связывание верёвок разной толщины, ну и отсутствие контрольных узлов...😢

It is very common to mis-pronounce the name of this knot. The technical name is "Sheet" Bend. It is also sometimes referred to as a "Becket". "Sheet" comes from the original use in nautical knots referring to it being formally tied in a sheet(piece of running rigging that trims a sail). ***ABK.

Oh I thought I remember it being a sheep's bend in the boy scout handbook from the 80's. I'm glad I got that cleared up.
Is there any knot called a sheep's bend?

There is the sheepshank, a very different knot. I think I have called it a sheep bent a few times when talking fast, kinda flows better lol. I looked knots up in ABK and couldn’t find any with sheep in the name other than the sheepshank. Does not mean that there isn’t a knot with that name

@@knotknut Thanks for your kind reply, I could have asked with better manners but it’s crazy that I would look through that Boy Scout Handbook at night to fall asleep sometimes and I love information and remember the name.
It’s interesting how names change based on geographical location, culture and language. Well done!
