  • Journalist Liz Jones has revealed how she was able to communicate with her dead mother through groundbreaking AI software. The ‘griefbot’ or ‘deadbot’ uses personal information, including content left behind by the deceased on social media and any other personal information submitted by the user to simulate the dead.
All was going well until the bot began revealing alarming admissions such as the fact her mother was scared of her father throughout her life, something that she never discussed while she was alive.

Why would you expect a made up person to answer a question about why the real person didn't hug you? You are literally talking to a robot not that person you loved. If I want to hear my late mum and dad speak I can watch old videos of them and get comfort from that.

So now, rather than getting our relatives back, we can pay to make the digital husk of then haunt us? Future 😍😍

This lady makes it sound like she's actually talking to her mum....but it's a computer. I dunno I feel sad about it all.
What I will say though is anything that can bring a person some comfort is a good thing.
It can also go the other way so I guess its up to the individual.

The problem is it would inevitably change the relationship we have with our surviving loved ones if we thought they aren't truly gone.. it's playing with the natural order, for which there is always a consequence...

While our physical bodies are destined to cease, our souls persist beyond the constraints of earthly existence. This enduring spirit, free from the temporal shackles, lives on.

I totally agree with Liz, leave the dead to rest . This not good for people who have experienced abused parents but great for people who have never seen their parents , example mum died at child birth.

The dead know nothing. A corpse doesn't hear, feel or sense anything hence its a corpse. There's no longer a spirit or soul alive in the deceased body. I'm sorry but this is the truth. The best one can do is keep the memories alive cause the loved one is gone.

This is a big NO, you are NOT speaking with your loved one,it' s just technology.
We have to have a limit between reality and fantasy.

I don't agree with this at all, maybe for some but certainly not for me, it's not real, photos/videos and memories are enough, yes I'm sure AI will help in many ways, but NOT this!!

This is cool! In fact, quite fascinating n interesting. I'd love to see more examples n indepth reporting from a few different perspectives. Other reporters n scientists from different class backgrounds n different ancestral heritages. Be great to see if ppl from Spanish and Latin American countries have different experiences with this as well as what it would be like for those from more developing countries from Asia, Carribean, West Indies and the huge continent of Africa…
Looking fwd to hearing more about this in the future n any new developments!!

You can't speak to a dead person. This is just a scam, one step up from 'mediums' claiming the same thing.
