Great video. Loved to see all those beautiful watches and understanding the current market. Well done.
Thank you i appreciate it
Great straight-to-the-point advice. Enjoying the channel.
Thank you I appreciate that !
It’s my 40th. My dad wants to buy me a Rolex. Just one - one I will have for life. A Datejust, but I want it in the combination I want, not what I’m ‘offered’. Presumably the flippers/grey market dealers are the reason for pointless AD wait times and being ‘offered’ a watch. Great. Thanks.
Thank you for the content I know it takes time and effort to put these out and I appreciate it
Thank you I really appreciate that! So pleased you enjoy the channel.
This is true. Asked for a date just last week and yesterday I got a call for the slate rhodium dial jubilee .
Great Video ! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you Andy, really appreciate it! 🙏
Wow! Mind blowing info. Thanks for this 👍
Thanks Ted glad you liked it
Hi Charlie
Great video as always. I spoke to you on the phone about a week ago and you gave me some great advice regarding which Daytona on OF.
Really appreciated it.
Wish you and your business the very best.

Brilliant content mate keep it coming 👏🏻
Thank you mate, really appreciate that. Glad you liked this one, thanks for watching! 🙏
Super helpful as always!
Thank ls Chad I appreciate that
Thanks for another fantastic video incredible watches Thanks again
No problem Jay, thanks for watching! 👌
Really good advice. My AD lost dealership so i lost a 40 year relationship when in hindsight i could have had pretty much any watch. Went to new AD, asked for a steel datejust 41, grey dial, smooth bezel. Seven weeks later its arrived. I love the watch, it fits my collection perfectly and have now started a new relationship with a really nice AD, after i have to say a bit of searching through some appalling attitudes at some AD's.
Great to hear a great experience from an AD! Congratulations 👍
Picked up the watch today and AD put me down for a sub and white gold steel dial oyster flex and told me to expect them in a very reasonable time frame ( both less than 12 months). Also bought the wife a beautiful set of diamond earrings which she desperately wanted. He knew my last AD and knew my spend with both Rolex and Porsche but without your advice on the datejust rhodium I don't believe I would be here today. Can't thank you enough for your advice including advising me by telephone to avoid the gold Sky dweller Oyster flex i was offered ( although to big for my wrist). Great channel mate I've put a couple of friends onto you. I hope and believe I'm making another great relationship with a very good and genuine AD. This time I won't take it for granted and will take everything within reason offered. My last AD used to regularly bring out trays of watches but I expected I could always buy what I wanted so passed many times on steel Daytona's and even passed on a Platinum Daytona. Once again thanks. Love your channel so much advice for new people to Rolex and even to us old watch collecctors.
@@davidowen2859I love your comment, we can see that you are truly passionate. For my part, I love old watches but I want my capital not to depreciate, so I don't want to buy a Rolex for 15k and 10 years later find myself with a watch worth only 7k and I have the impression that the old watches lose their value over time, maybe I'm wrong, what do you think?
Learnt a lot, thanks for sharing!
Thank you mate glad you are learning 👍
Another great video Charlie 👍
Thanks Kevin I appreciate it
Great video❤
Love your channel! Looking forward to when you share your "personal" collection of watches that you wear, the stories behind them, etc. (unless the gold daytona is the only one you wear). Cheers.
Thank you Phillip, no it’s not my only one. One day I will do a video on them 👌🏻
Thanks for the advice in the video. I got my first 36mm datejust from AD (not the watch I wanted) but I was told if I sold it before 2 years then I’ll get blacklisted so how do people get around that
thanks for the video.
My pleasure Tony
Cheers mate great advice, will be looking for some entry models to buy.
Absolutely, get your name down at your AD as soon as you can. 👌🏻
Fantastic series of videos
Thanks George I appreciate it
Very interesting and informative video 👍🏾
Thank John 🙌🏼
Rolex prices are slowly returning to pre pandemic costs. Patience is a virtue at the moment, certain models will always be highly sought after from your AD. Preowned prices are falling slowly.
Not true is it - the 116519 and 116518 OF Daytonas have gone up recently
100% prices, of the meteorite gmt fell like a rock, same with the ceramic Daytona steel and platinum and many, many more. Flipper deserved to get completely burnt. If they bought them this time last year when prices was at its highest
@@Watchlover371 you should try buying them as an investment and see what happens later. Best of luck
@@JLim3111 I have them both at retail last year - u make ur own luck
Not true Rolex and their AD are playing games just look at the Rolex CPO program. Selling reconditioned watches for ridiculous prices.
Good morning, Charlie
I hope you and your family and friends are all keeping well and healthy, and you have all had a lovely positive weekend. Another great honest genuine, genuine positive video. Have a great great look forward to seeing you soon Charlie kind regards Karl 😊
Thank you Karl I appreciate it. Hope all is well with you. Speak soon 😃🙌🏼
Hi I have a 1991 blusey love the combination, and to be honest, I think it has a lot more character, colour, pizazz than the black.
Informative vids thank you
Thanks so pleased you enjoy the channel. Love a bluesy 👌🏻
Great video!
Thanks i appreciate that
I really don’t like that this game exists. But I appreciate knowing how it works. Just ordered a 31 datejust for my wife (for her to wear and love for decades). Hoping that brings me further up in my own goals as well.
Just got a DJ 41 on fluted jubilee with silver dial. My first preference was blue/green dial but honestly silver is a great combination. My very first Rolex and I am super excited to wear it for years to come.
Congratulations mate, incredible watch - wear and enjoy it! 🙌
love your video's!
Thank you I appreciate that
My local independent Rolex AD retired and the shop closed a few years ago and so my relationship went too. I want a GMT (don’t we all) so decided to play the game. Nearest AD to me was a Goldsmiths over a couple of years bought a couple of other makes which I wanted anyway and also bought a couple of bits of jewellery too. Went on the list in Nov 20 for the GMT and hoped to get the call at some point. Visited the store end of 2022 to check in and found that my history was no longer sufficient for a GMT and the history had to include another Rolex. Goal posts had been moved! The wife had always fancied a Yacht-Master 37mm so put my name down for that. 7 months later I’m still waiting for this and once this wait is over (I’m not holding my breath!) I will then have to wait further for the GMT. It’s the Pepsi I’m after and I guarantee that it will be discontinued before I get the call. Goldsmiths will still have all the money I have spent though so they won’t be too concerned. Funny old game this!
Unfortunate your AD retired! And extremely unfair your new one changed the goal posts.
Unfortunately these are the games you have to play to get your watch from an AD with ever changing rules.
I hope you get the GMT you want very soon, you’ve more than deserved it by now!
@@thehonestwatchdealer I miss that AD. Bought my Submariner date there in 1994 for £1700 discounted from £1780. Those were the days!
@@Audittr2108Similar experience to you. After 40 years Its hard starting from the bottom again.
@@thehonestwatchdealer Very sympathetic, but I understand it's your job to be lol
Any not just buy from Chrono24 at that point? Surely the inflated prices are still lower than buying multiple watches you don't actually want.
Great info, thanks
Thank you i appreciate that!
Great video. What about 41mm white dial? I haven’t seen you ever cover that in your videos
What’s your take on a mint green with a fluted bezel and oyster bracelet? Would you recommend the blue dial over it?
Always enjoy your informative videos, but note sure about your advice on accepting the bluedy and selling it to you for list as when I go back to my AD he will expect to see the bluesy on my wrist.
If it’s the only watch you have received then wait until you have bought more then sell 👍🏻
Great content !
Much appreciated thank you!
Thanks for this guidance! Looking at a second buy next to my Air King, love the jubilee/fluted combo, any recommendation on the fluted motif plate (green or blue) versus wimbeldon?
Both great choices and honestly you can’t go wrong with either. Just down to personal taste 👍🏻
Charlie ! Totally agree on the your Datejust Combinations !! I love the Blue dial !
My No date Sub ( 114060 ) will always be My favorite. No matter what I get in the future.
Great Info !! 👍
Thank you Doug 😃 No date sub is the best 🙌🏼
Thanks for your insightful opinion. I have a question up my mind and hope you can share your thoughts. Is the 116508 John mayer dial as rare as it is said? Ironically on chrono24, green is the most abundant. I know some watches are mislabelled and the green is highly sought after. I'm asking as I'm deciding between green and the Pikachu dial. It seems there are fewer Pikachu than green on chrono24. Thanks in advance man 💪
Hi,
The Pikachu is definitely a rarer dial in the Daytona OF and full bracelet model.
The JM market has seen a lot of these come out for sale as everyone was waiting for the discontinuation. Once these get bought up the will become more rare and start to rise in value.
Hi, just discovered your channel . Find it really interesting. Thanks for making these videos.
In your experience, what sort of spend history, with an AD, are you looking at to be considered for a standard Daytona?
Hi Paul thanks for watching, so pleased you enjoy it. When you say standard Daytona which model do you mean as they are all hard to get and some extremely hard.
@thehonestwatchdealer thanks for your reply.
A Oystersteel with a white face. £12,700 rrp
@@paulh5854 as someone who got both steel Daytonas at retail within 6 months the answer is not a simple one. Let’s put it this way - soend will have to be well into six figures and you will have to have a great relationship with your ad and the store manager. For most it’s just not ever going to be a reality. To be honest your best off going grey if you really love it - the black dial variant is actually preferable in my eyes and is a bit cheaper on the grey market.
In March of 2021 I got a batgirl as my first watch from an AD with $300 spent history. I waited about 4 months
Datejust 36 with blue dial is the one for me. I'll visit an AD soon. What I do find weird is that it's not listed anymore at the AD's websites here in Canada
That’s strange .. good luck
Love your content mate! You said go for Datejust Blue, Rhodium or Wimbledon (if lucky). What about Mint Green dial? Thanks
Thank you mate, mint green is a harder to get dial so we didn’t mention it in this video
Great vid. How about the 41 with mint dial - with or without fluted bezel and which bracelet?
Definitely jubilee and fluted if you can
Great video.
Thanks Kevin I appreciate that
Hi il be travelling to New York and want to get a submariner date 41 in person. Any reputed dealers you suggest? Also how much should I expect to pay for grey market ?
Great advice. I have a Tudor bb58 just now but would love to upgrade to a Rolex in the next couple years (hopefully before I’m 40) saw the mint green dial at Heathrow and loved it.
My pleasure hope you get the watch you want 🤞🏻
Just got my first Rolex, 40M Explorer, love it. Such a clean, symmetrical dial, legible, versatile, with the history to match. I think it’s a real stealth under the radar Rolex. Love this Chanel, learned a lot, enough to get my first Rolex!
Thank you Michael, I really appreciate that! Congratulations on your new watch, such a stunning model - enjoy it! 🙌
Both the watches I want (Exp 1 36mm & 36mm DJ rhodium, smooth, oyster) are mentioned so fingers crossed it’s possible to get one without any purchase history.
Great video. Over the past 6 months I’ve managed to get a 31mm DJ for the wife, 41mm DJ for myself and today I picked up a GMT root beer from my local AD. Only waited 3 weeks for the root beer 🥳
Congratulations 👌🏻
What do you mean by local AD ?
@@victorortiz1206 Rolex authorised dealer.
Helpful video, thanks. What are your views on a 41 datejust rose gold fluted jubilee with silver motif dial?
Definitely has the beset bracelet and bezel combo, the rose gold and steel make it an extremely classy looking watch! 👌🏻
Hi good videos, i want to get into selling watches, can you offer any advice
smooth and jubilee looks absolutely stunning. classic
It sure does 👌🏻
Hello, thank you for your valuable insight. Could you please provide some advice or perhaps create a video regarding women's Rolex watches? Specifically, which models retain their value and which ones are suitable for beginners?
Your welcome let me speak to the team 👍🏻
awesome videos! really appreciate your honest insight and you've been a wealth of knowledge for me.
would you happen to do business with folks from the States? or maybe do you have a referral for folks you trust and could recommend? I've been on the AD waitlist for Datejust, OP and Explorer for over 8months now. still no bites :(
Thank you Brian I’m so pleased you enjoy our channel. Yes we do we ship to the US quite regular. Please contact me through the website and we will help you with that. www.theluxurywatchcompany.com
I do enjoy your widdios
So spot on. I went to my local AD for the first time and asked for a Pepsi jubilee haha. I’m calling tomorrow and adding all those to the list that I’m willing to buy. Great job on the videos, extremely high quality
Thanks George and good luck 🤞🏻
I recently got a DJ 36 as my first Rolex. It’s blue dial with stick hours, fluted bezel & jubilee. I don’t particularly have a very small wrist but I prefer that size over the 41. What an absolutely gorgeous watch. The only issue was, to buy that I had to get a Panerai. But in all honesty I love that panerai as well.
The main thing is you love both watches. Congratulations 🙌🏼
Did you buy from a rolex AD?
They made you buy a panerai to get a dj36??!! They well and truly pulled ur pants down and shafted u 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣
@@thehonestwatchdealer What would you say about a ladies date just with the black MOP dial in the 31mm fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet with diamonds on the dial? I got offered that yesterday.
Btw, congratulations on the channel. Love the style and cadence you present at 🤛🏼🎯
Hi, great vid. I have the 36mm 126233 DJ fluted bezel and oyster two tones bracelet, champagne dial with diamonds. Should I keep it or flip it? Greetings from Australia… cheers. Lam.
Hi from the UK Liam .. flip it unless you really like it 👍🏻
Love your channel and videos. I don't think DJ 36 has the grey dial with sticks though. Otherwise, I would want one for sure. 1.5 years ago I went to an AD in a medium-size town in Midwest USA and said I wanted a black or blue dial DJ 36 smooth bezel with oyster bracelet because I like the simple classic look. I also said I wanted a submariner. They put all my "Wishlist items on the list" but since I had no shopping experience there, I was not hoping much. They called me last week and said the black dial DJ would be ready for me this week. I am going to pick it up. BTW, what is your opinion on the DJ 36 Palm Motif dial? Is it well sought?
Oh congratulations on getting the call!
The motif is a stunning dial, small market, but incredible watch nonetheless 👌🏻
i just picked up a DJ 36 black dial on the jubilee, on the list for a 41 mint domed jubilee and i was told basically once id got that i could buy a sub. What a bargain
Fantastic videos!
Can you help put the list below in order from the highest overlist to the lowest assuming they all have the exact same dial?
1. Flutted & jubilee
2. Smooth & jubilee
3. Flutted & oyster
4. Smooth & oyster
Just got my first watch from my AD GMT Lefty, met my salesman march 2022 told him I want a GMT Lefty he said he placed me on there list. Stopped there every 2 months or so to chit chat about watches, got the call the other week and picked up my Beautiful GMT Lefty on a oyster bracelet with zero history and I couldn’t be happier. I hope this will be my AD for life
Congratulations!
Congratulations mate! That’s the way to do it 👌🏻 Stunning watch, enjoy it!
Rolex jam tangan yg sllu jadi incaran.... Relend.
Thank you. That was insightful. I'm saving up for my first luxury watch and it has to be a Rolex. Hopefully within a year i'll make my first AD visit and I know what to look for.
Thanks for watching mate! Good luck on your Rolex acquisition 🙌
good guide cheers
Thanks for watching Oliver, glad you liked it! 🙏
I got put on the list for a sub no date yesterday as my first watch. The experience alone was extremely enjoyable
Excellent choice, hopefully you don’t have to wait too long!
What about 28mm datejust, dark grey, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet?
love the wimbledon white gold
I am looking to buy my first Rolex and this gentleman really helped me to which one I should be going for ! Thanks
Thank you mate I’m so glad I could help!
Congratulations on getting your new watch 👌🏻
Further question Charlie. If I could get either or both the root beer bicolour or solid rose, to keep for a couple of years, what would you say. Tried both on recently and both looked stunning.
I’ve got the rose gold myself and it is absolutely stunning. But if you can get both I can’t see why you wouldn’t.
I would say the steel and gold if the safer bet but if buying for pure pleasure then the full rose is an amazing watch .. in fact we have just sold one today 👍🏻
Do you have a video to help with scratches ?
Thanks so much for the content. I'm looking at my first date just41 with wimbledon dial and jubilee, bracelet yellow gold and steel. What's a good price?
Thank you mate, really appreciate it.
Would all depend on the condition and year, what kind of budget are you working with?
Noticed you didn't mention the white-dialed DateJust - was there a reason for that?
Hi , thanks for your videos , great job 🙂👍
Question-
What Rolex watches would you recommend for quick profit under £10k
Cheers 🍻 K.
None. There is no money in buying watches grey and trying to flip them. Go an work harder in your job and stop trying to make 500 on selling a watch
Thanks
You are very welcome mate 🙌
good!!👍
Thank you 👍🏻
I walked into my local AD for the first time last week. Had a good chat with one of the staff and got offered the Yachmaster 40 Everose with Chocolate dial, I automatically assumed it’s a slow seller for them to throw it at me so quick. Should I take it to get spend up?
Charlie, on the years of experience from customers trying watches on with you, what wrist size would you say a guy can get away with wearing a 36 OP, without it looking too small? Thanks
I would say 6in to 7in is a nice size for the 36mm range. But it is personal preference
I just bought a vintage DJ 36mm jubilee strap with blue dial and white gold bezel. I am delighted!
Congratulations mate stunning watch, enjoy it! 🙏
Any OP worth buying?
In about a month will be going into an AD to discuss the process. Not planning to buy right now, have a GS Skyflake on my list first. But curious if I get hit with the you need to spend x before we even allow you to buy a watch routine.
Good luck 🤞🏻
Brilliant ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Thank you 🙌🏼
I got lucky and got offered the Wimbledon. But on an oyster and smooth bezel + two tone rose gold. Wish I had seen this video sooner
exp 1 is the rolex enthusiasts sleeper watch. Fan fav
I want a sub, but the AD seem keen to sell me an Airking before they get me one lol
Thoughts on the chance of getting allocated the 41mm white batton dial? Very clean piece and doesn't seem to be on many peoples radar.
Quite a good chance, have a chat with the AD and see what they say!
I know you mentioned Wimbledon is hard to get. What if we can get the mint green? Good buy?
Yes but normally harder than the Wimbledon
What is your opinion on a two tone Sky Dweller with a black dial on a jubilee bracelet.
I have covered this model in other videos please check them out
Very difficult to get anything stickered in UK as ADs remove on purchase
First of all I really love your Chanel,, it’s full of information about watches especially Rolex my favorite brand,, I just want to know your option on the date just 41 with mop dial oyster bracelet steel and gold,
Thank you i appreciate that. Lovely watch and stunning dial but the MOP dial uplift makes this model a very high rrp and in the secondary market it is a tough sell.
Thanks my dear for the reply,, I totally agree but still a stunning watch,, it’s my first Rolex and it’s so beautiful on the rest, and I still get a lot of comments on it. My friend keep on the good work wish you all the best 👍🏻🌹
Thanks for your great advice. After many months, I was lucky enough to be offered (and of course I accepted) an all steel DJ41 on a jubilee bracelet with smooth bezel and the coveted Wimbledon dial. So happy. Your advice helped me to narrow my focus for success, rather than chasing a rare sports watch. I can focus my attention to a Sub or GMT now that I have this beautiful piece on my wrist.
Incredible! So pleased to hear my advice helped you - really stunning watch, enjoy it mate and hopefully you get the next one your list soon 👌
Hi, I have some good news. Another AD I’ve built a relationship with has offered me a DJ41 and I will buy it for my partner. But I have a question for you. Shall I walk into my AD with a Rolex I have bought from another AD? Would they feel insulted or happy that I am buying more Rolexes? My aim is to obtain a 126710BLNR or a SM (any type) to keep for life so I need to play the game. Any advice? I intend visiting 2-3 ADs and build a relationship with each.
Good info. Trying to get an Explorer 1 40 mm. Will let u know how it goes
Thanks mate I appreciate that! Yes let me know how you get on - best of luck!
