It would be interesting if you could do a video on which one to get between a used Rolex or AP and a new Grand Seiko with spring drive (same price point). Of course the wow factor of Rolex and AP is priceless, on the other hand, the mesmerizing engineering of spring drive is second to none in my opinion. I wonder what your take on this. Thank you.

I wouldn't buy a Rolex to buy a Rolex but rather get the watch you want. If you want a Sub or GMT, just save up for the Sub or GMT. Settling on a DJ or Air King isn't going to satisfy someone, unless you are a fan of those watches like yourself Teddy.
Next watch will probably be a Polar Explorer II. I have fallen in love with that thing and I want a GMT watch. I already have a Sub and Speedy, so I don't want another black on black watch. Pepsi GMT is another watch I crave but the cost is really high and I honestly don't feel like I'm settling by going for the Explorer II.

The Oyster Perpetual is one of those slow-release-appreciation watches. It looks plain, boring and not innovative at first sight. But then you take a longer look and pick one up to get a feel of it. You then start to take in the simple but elegant design that just grows on you overtime. Add in the history behind the oyster case and you've got yourself a beautiful watch that has a timeless design.

Hey Teddy I wanted to ask you a question from a person who’s owned a timed marlin 34mm. I’ve been debating for a long period of time whether I should buy it. The problem is I’ve heard story that it’s really loud and that’s what sets me off so I’ll like your Professional input. Thanks great Video BTW

Hi Ricky! I think it is a slick watch. I have done a review on it. The ticking on Timex mechanical watches are not bad. The quartz... that’s another story.

Teddy Baldassarre thanks for responding to my question . Long time fan of yours keep up the amazing videos, literally if it weren’t for a lot of your videos I would’ve never started a watch collection.

Not a biggie, but please Teddy, consider putting the SI equivalent measurements when mentioning wrist sizes, case diameters etc. Your non-US viewership will be forever grateful. Thanks for the amazing vids!

Hi teddy I don’t know if you will see this or get to responding to it, I’m looking to buy a watch and your extremely knowledgeable in them. I really enjoy the Rolex air king and the way it looks, but I’m in no position to afford it at its price point, is their a cheaper alternative? I’m looking something at or below 250$

I was considering buying an OP or Explorer, but instead I got myself a couple of small SNK/SNX Seiko 5s. I'm so glad I did! They look as good or better, I can share them with my kids without worrying, and wearing them makes me happy in a way my bigger more expensive watches don't. I seriously advise anybody interested in buying an entry level Rolex to try one of those Seikos first, unless it's the brand and associated status you're after.

Those little Seikos do look nice, i had a Seiko Sarb033 but when i got a Rolex i realized why it costs so much more. Nothing beats a Rolex. I've had lots of watches in the past, including Tag, Longines, Seiko, Tissot and Hamilton. The experience and feeling a Rolex gives you cannot be matched.

I would also recommend the Oysterdate 6694. With its manual wind 1225 movement it's thin on the wrist. Mine was originally bought by a Korea War/Vietnam War vet while stationed in Germany in 1969/70, bought by my grandfather (his friend) upon his death, later inherited by my father, and recently given to me (an Iraq War vet) by my father while he is still thankfully alive. It has been everywhere from the rifle range to the golf course to a tractor on the north 40. It's been serviced and had crystals cracked numerous times by all the previous owners who were 'one watch' guys. Just came back to me last month after its latest service looking new again. Still has the original dark brown almost black dial with gold markers. If this watch could tell stories, it would cover four lives. Next owner will be my daughter. Will look a bit big on her wrist, but she appreciates its history.
