Challenge Coin Display - Military History In Coins

- Here is how we built a challenge coin holder to hold my father's challenge coins from various Navy squadrons, ships and stations where he served as a Naval Aviator. He served in the 50s-80s when challenge coins weren't really used in the Navy but we were able to locate over a dozen coins that match units he was involved with. We've found a few more since we made this video and will keep adding as long as we can find relevant coins.
The design is simple and compact and holds up to 21 coins. We wanted to customize it beyond just a wooden coin holder so we 3D printed a Navy tail hook. Because, you know, Navy aircraft use tail hooks to land on aircraft carriers. It's kind of their thing, so we 3D printed a big tail hook to enhance the coin display.
If you have a collection of challenge coins you would like to display you can use the same simple techniques we used to make this one. We show you how to make the coin slots using only a table saw, and we used simple straight cuts for most of it. You can do this too! Well, you can do it if you have challenge coins. And wood.

Great coin display. It may have been simple to make but it really does not fantastic. I really like the idea of a tail hook being added as a unique touch. We enjoyed your teamwork and look forward to more of your content.
