  • In this video, we show you a rare WW2 escape and evasion kit! This was a kit filled with gold coins and other valuables, given to US Naval pilots to barter with locals if they were shot down in enemy territory. Ours was never opened! We x-rayed it and found out that our coins are still inside!

When I was in SAC, back in the early 1970's, B52 air crews had gold Sovereigns in their survival bags.

When the British SAS of Bravo 2 Zero and other missions were in Iraq in 1991 that were given gold coins and hid them inside their belts for bribery if it could help but most never gave them back and framed them with a mission map, however it was decided best to take it down off the wall if their commanding officer came over to visit!

Years ago I read that some guy decades ago bid on a lot of army surplus items and included was a crate with several hundred escape and evasion kits. The guy won the bid, got the items to his store or warehouse and the kits contained the gold coins.

How about the recent surplus fiasco of someone buying a lot of Hardigg 10 rifle cases from an auction site with one of them containing a full case of 10 M16 A2s 🤣 They reported the find of the select fire government serialized rifles, which came with an immediate seizure of the rifles and a thorough search of the lot of cases 😐 I hope they got a finders fee for actually returning them! I also feel bad for the few guys that had successfully covered up 10 missing M16s for who knows how many years 😄 Hopefully they are all out by now and have some remaining plausible deniability 😂 I'm sure several guys really started sweating when that news story broke!

I would almost bet that the development of this kit came from the O.S.S. I wonder if they didn't also have kits without any identifying script that were "classified" and issued to the O.S.S. officers being dropped behind the lines. It would take some real nut to do that, and they would need every advantage possible to survive. In any event, I never heard of this kit until today. Fascinating.

all special forces carry what they call a blow out kit that has both currency and gold coins in it! i think the SAS kits had $1200 in cash (Swiss francs i think) and gold sovereigns and the US kits have $600 to a $1,000 in US hundreds and Kugerands if i remember right!
