(DLR came up with the idea to use that as their band name btw) I wish Ed had started another project or band with Wolfie and called it Mammoth or whatever so he would of had an outlet for that. 1. At no point in the interview does Wolfgang deny he had the women in question thrown out of the venue.
2. DLR has NEVER claimed he wrote Eruption or that he built Ed's guitar. Roth did claim he suggested Ed paint stripes on it. A far cry from "creating the Frankenstrat".
EDDIE HIMSELF said that the stripes WERE HIS IDEA, NOT ROTH’S, and had said so even before the split with Roth. Have you never read any of Ed’s interviews?

This is Wolfgang taking something Dave said and twisting it so that he can make an issue (and get more press, since his 2nd album only hit #29 and he's still performing in clubs/theaters or opening for much bigger bands).

Dave has truthfully stated that he wrote LYRICS/MELODIES. He rarely wrote the music in Van Halen songs, with a few exceptions (e.g. THE FULL BUG, STAY FROSTY, COULD THIS BE MAGIC?, etc.).

The stripes on the guitar was Dave's idea. Van Halen played with a lot of punk band when they were starting out in Los Angeles. The Dills was one of the bands they played with and the singer/guitarist played a guitar with stripes on it. The stripes were just tape, but it inspired Dave enough to get Eddie to do it. There is a picture of the Dills guitar with a quick google search.

Cracks me up he has a song 'Just a Gigolo' that goes to #12 on the Pop chart, and a cover of the Beach Boy's California girls, which was actually a hit, so he quits Van Halen and proceeds to become just an angry clown and sink into oblivian. The few times he's played with Van Halen or that time he appeared with Van Halen to present an award he totally humiliated himself on both stages. They knew he couldn't sing, but only hired him because his rich daddy bought them a great sound system.

Great great great grandfather Dave just needs to break it to the kid about more instrument playing less smartphone makes an overall better musician mantra. Overall I believe it is basically just more growing pains as usual as it should in making a better creation with all things. If there ever were no real debate there is real chance there is no real team. Glad to hear there is lifeforce still in Van Halen these days.

Anthony quit the band after the VH brothers said either you are with us or you're with Sammy and Anthony chose to leave the band and start new bands with Sammy . He was never just kicked out . Eddie eventually taught Wolf how to play bass .

It's a shame that a Van Halen is wearing my name. I met his father and he was the biggest asshole I have met so far, alongside Gelnn Tipton of JP. EVH was pissed or on Cocaine - I don't know - and he attacked fans in Munich, waiting for autographs for hours. Even girls he attacked. As a guy tried to stop him his bodyguards kicked the young courageous man in the face. Blood was running down his face like a waterfall. We all were shocked and Van Halen shouted some not understandable frases in the crowd and continued being the asshole with pride. One could see that he enjoyed what he was doing, being protected by his bodyguards. Sammy was their singer back then. Sammy and the others weren't around. Just the man himself confronted the people. I think it was 93' or so. Long story short: I never saw DLR do such things to his fans. Never! Dave played the Rudi Sedlmayer Halle in 91'. Unfortunately without Jason Becker who suffered his illness. Dave was great and we had the oportunity to get autographs from him. He signed my "Pure Fuckin Rock" shirt and had a little chat with me. As a young rock fan of 20 years this means everything to you. I will never forget both actions. Van Halen I remember as the biggest asshole in rock. Over and Out!

He was in an interview a couple years back where he said he came up with the idea for Eddie to stripe his guitar. Truth be told when Eddie was asked where he came up with the idea he said he couldn’t remember and it just happened. So I guess that’s up for debate. Dave was responsible for most of the bands clothing choices, stage show, videos, etc.… So anything is possible.

One of his friends was with him adding the red color . At the time , Ed was really bummed out because their upcoming concert wasn't selling out AND he was really pissed when Charvel copied his two color design .
Dave always was the one with the visual sense, and the punk band the Dils who played the same clubs as VH used a similarly striped guitar before Ed. So it's entirely possible the idea came from Dave suggesting they spice up their image on stage. What's the big deal, I have no idea. I just wish all these guys would chill out and get along once and for all!

David Lee Roth is a good man who has gotten "bad press" his entire career. He is an easy target. He was the exuberant frontman of Van Halen and that spawned a lot of jealousy. According to Sammy Hagar, Eddie Van Halen was an insufferable alcoholic. If you've ever been around an alcoholic, I bet that you can accurately guess who was the "fly in the VH ointment."

Roth is not the great singer on his own but was a necessary ingredient of Van Halen. Had he not been with the band, they would not have been as big or as good. Sammy wouldn't have joined them if they weren't as big as they were. So chances are that Valery wouldn't have gotten together with Eddie if they weren't so famous. EVH was destined for greatness no matter what due to his impossible virtuoso guitar playing... and dlr just happened to be the assclown spectacle Eddie wanted for a hood ornament on his vehicle of greatness.... You got it right sort of... dlr was a great front man for the most legendary guitarist since Hendrix... If not for EVH, dlr would never have been heard of...
