It's incredibly heartwarming to hear what an amazing father Eddie was. Putting his guitar genius aside, being an incredible father figure and letting your child know they are loved every moment you can is one of the most important things you can do. And hearing that voicemail at the end of Distance is heart-wrenching but beautiful.

Yeah those arent tears, my eyes are sweating. Its hard to believe hes gone already. Like a shooting star. Wolfie just wanted to say you did an amazing job with the band. Always a pleasure to see and hear. I dont know if you read this stuff, but if you do I want to say my deepest heartfelt condolences for your loss. I dont feel it would be out of line to say we ALL LOVED YOUR POP! I sat for thousands of hours like a lot of other guitarists stealing your pops licks. Going all the way back to picking up the stylus and moving a few grooves back. Waiting to hear your new stuff:) GOD Bless

When they got the first LP in ‘78 they really were local band makes it big

This will only add to the greatness in the legend of EVH. It’s one thing to be one of the greatest guitar players in the world but to be the worlds greatest dad too elevates the playing field exponentially. This kid is hurting from one of the worst pains in the human experience, my heart goes out to him as I know what it’s like to lose the greatest father in my world. One thing I’m happy to report is I genuinely like the music Wolfe has put together, he has been blessed with a natural gift from what I hear and I’m excited to hear more...

For the first time it hit me n i almost cried F. I miss Eddie nan van halen was n is part of teenage n adult life for the longest i wd say their ok but actually i wd listen to them n try n pkay his tunes my ex girlfriend at the time n other girls wd say that Roth was gorgeous i had long hair. I wd practice every night i guess i was a little jealous but i loved them all n I will miss you Mr. Edward Halen n thank you sir for leaving us with a diamond. Wolf is so great not only is he a genius but he is humble . I never knew he was so great if any one had gotten sick on the tour of Van Halen he could easily replace them he can play drums bass n a great guitarist he can also really sing if wolf ever see's this sir plz n i mean plz never get big headed God has blessed you with a talent that very few have and you sir seem exactly what God says to be which is to remain humble I only wish you the best sir Mr. Wolf n thank you to the person who posted this you are also a great person for posting this God bless us all I have to go huge kitty that will eat anything is trying to eat my chocolate piece of candy which we all know is deadly to kitties but she will nibble on things I have to watch her she is just a big baby n i mean big well ty again for sharing n posting

*R.I.P. E.V.H..* As I said to Ed. back around 2004 in Hershey Pa. when he graciously climbed down off the stage at sound check to greet my daughter, wife, and I so we could give him a gift that my 10 yr. old daughter and I made for him and the guys. “We love ya man”.
