@@cyclestopvalves8380 Hello. will the CSV allow me to run a 4 gal. pressure tank with a 22 GPM 1 HP pump on a 40/60 swith with the CSV tuned to 50 psi. for my irrigation? My pump just bit the dust and come to find out it went out because the tank went out causing short cycling. I would love to go with the CSV and a smaller tank. That is all this well is used for is my lawn sprinklers. My home is on city water.

@@eriwilnel Regular cycling caused your tank to go bad. Then rapid cycling from the bad tank caused the pump to fail. Sure the CSV1A as in the PK1A kit will do what you want and comes with a 4.5 gallon tank. But it could supply the house as well as the irrigation system if you wanted. My well water is better than any city water and that way I have control of how much pressure I have, which is enough I don't even need soap in the shower. Lol!

How am I supposed to keep a 1gallon a minute flow? Leave a hose running all year?

You could if you wanted to. Or you can run as much or as little water as you want for as long as you want and not cycle the pump to death as you would without a CSV. But if your not using any water the CSV lets the pressure tank fill up and the pump shut off.

@@cyclestopvalves8380 I guess I misunderstood that as requirement. I researched and saw It's the minimum for the pump to run and stay cool. Got it. So actually we are benefitting from reducing cycles and getting the constant pressure, by the pump still goes on and off.

@@mrniusi11 No! The CSV holds the constant pressure at 50 PSI and doesn't let it build up to 60 where the pressure switch would shut the pump off. So, as long as you are using more than 1 GPM the pump never shuts off. Only when all the faucets are closed will the 1 GPM fill the tank to 60 and the pressure switch will shut the pump off.
