Ran a similar build grinding Hatsuharu while 5x xp bonus was on. Spent much of that time spotted by aircraft and hounded by gunboats. No joy driving low AA DDs vs CVs. Had to get some Kidd therapy afterwards.

I use Tanaka in my iwaki and run it like a big destroyer, monster games for me anyway, over 100k damage in a game.
I did that for a while.

Think the game needs friendly fire adding in. I play destroyers and cruisers a lot and it would add a dimension to torpedo play where you need to think about where torpedoes are being sent. That situation with the the Iowa and Bismarck where the Iowa nearly blocked the torps would have required a much different mindset if friendly fire existed.
Tbh I be tryna torpedo people that hit me on purpose

Points. We had 4-5 ships to 2 left Our DD Refused to play the objective and never capped. Beyond frustrating.
DDs aren’t the only ones that can cap….
@@Thunderlord_Tozn no, but any player in a DD that doesn't play the objective at all isn't a good DD player. They aren't even a good Legends player for that matter

Hi Tbull, have you tried Space Fishy as a commander? Improves Torp speed...
It's not a bad perk, and I'd you don't have access to the azure lane Atago commander then it would be a solid choice for a few builds
Yeah, don't have the Atago commander, I run double conceilment, but would be interesting!!

Sometimes it feels like using commands wheel doesn't do anything. Not really sure if spamming helps. I think that makes people listen even less.
Sometimes the goal is to annoy them with the commands as much as they are annoying you with ignoring the objectives
Apparently Fishy is better than Tanaka although only because of the base trait.
