Aviere ("Airman") was one of seventeen Soldati-class destroyers, built for the Regia Marina (Royal Italian Navy) in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
Aviere had a very active yet short career during the Second World War, taking part in numerous convoy escort and transport missions. She also participated in the battles of Calabria and Cape Passero, being heavily damaged by HMS Ajax during the latter.
On the 16th of December 1942, she sailed to Naples, escorting the German freighter Ankara towards Bizerta and the next day, was torpedoed by the submarine HMS Splendid. The ship quickly sank and out of a crew of 250 men, only 30 survived the sinking.
As a Greek we had gearing and fletcher class dds in a our navy after ww2

I actually got aviere in an Italian crate a month or 2 ago while the destroyer line was still in testing/early access. I was so surprised when I saw that I got it even though I couldn’t move onto the next ship
As a bb main it's always good to know your enemy dds capabilities

22:50 i actually have citadelled cruisers in the regia marina destroyers, you just need enough penetration. i have citadelled cruisers with he from the king george. the armour type doesnt matter, rather the penetration power.

I was close
I found that the Tier 5 was kind of underwhelming if not painful in comparison to the Tier 4 and 6 Italians Destroyer. The poor accuracy and low penetration of the SAP of it guns made it difficult to use in a knife fight… the HE is passable, but I was very happy once that grind was done, as the Tier 6 has been just as fun to play as the Tier 4. Gun handling and penetration just felt worse for this ship than other Tiers, to take advantage of SAP. The tier 6 130mm guns are a huge upgrade even if it’s not reflective on paper

Good game Spartan. I wish carrier players would use their autopilot thing. I've never seen a single carrier in any games I play when I'm not a carrier use it. High tier games have also been bloody brutal this week
Always annoying when you get that cv player who never moves his damn ship, even when it's getting shot at. usually the same guy who spends the whole match chasing damage off of battleships rather than spotting and harassing destroyers.
Aviere is a synonimous of aviatore, which means aviator

After initial enthusiasm about the italian DDs, great disillusionment has set in. The destroyers do not perform as gun DDs should. The exhaust fog is far too short at 10 sec, the main battery damage too little. If you compare the Fletcher with the Italian VII, for example, the Fletcher is better in almost all respects. But if I already have much worse torps and a bad flak, the Italian DD has to perform in something, but it does not.
I like the look of the Italian DDs, and that Regina Marina Camo looks nice. Otherwise, I'm not crazy about these Destroyers, I guess they're just not my thing.
Hey spartan quick idea for you since I don’t have this ship yet, the GK vs all in training mode? Alsow I don’t have henri g hide for the Germans so witch commander would you recommend me for the GK?

the tennasee is a pretty goood ship when it use right
I haven't really been impressed with Italian destroyers...or really any of their lines...but their dds can be good sometimes.
I wanted to like these DDs but they turned out to be only good...
