I finally played this yesterday for 10 hours and my only advice is to NOT die while you're in your inventory...
If you hold the button for inventory, you can do a quick select for items. You can also skin the creatures in the cave for Armor

Deep in thought i came to realization that hey i want to play sons of the forest but its not in console yet so im going to do the next best thing is watch that one guy i use to watch play it. So after searching through the 800 people im subscribed to and 3 hours later I FINALLY FOUND YOUR CHANNEL. Thank you for making your content <3
I made the same sleeping during the day mistake. It's horrifying. Build a stick chair near a fire and sit in it and you can rest during the day without instantly turning the game into a horror game

been watching a few different people's videos on this, though always loved Matt's builds in the first forest! and his tips helped! one thing I noticed right away, seems the "crash location" for the helicopter is random-- each video I watched everyone landed in different places! also question for people- IS this the SAME island as the first game? just wondering (or is it the same island lore wise but the devs changed some stuff maybe?
I've found armour is essential for battling stronger enemies too.

you start with random things ive only played on hard and i havent had the same things. i got some mre before
"I've started a few new games and not once crashed in the sea yet. I wondered if waiting several minutes before closing the laptop would mean I'd spawn on the other side of the island, but guess not. I've had the crash site next to the lake a couple of times, and once in the snow.

"Im really quite disappointed tbh... Waited ages for this game, played it for a few hours so far. It appears to be a reskin of the original with somehow less features/buildings and a worse inventory system :/
When you mentioned the games fps change for doing one thing I wouldn’t be surprised because even my game runs very weirdly when playing but I plan to touch around see what makes that happen myself loving this game and you playing is my guide 🫡
