I was in Costa Rica with my wife talking to an Uber driver through google translate. It was about a 15-20 minute drive but it was so great and she was so sweet. Even got on the phone with her sister that lived in the states to talk to us too. Once we got to the destination, she got out and gave us big hugs and told the place we were staying to treat us well haha
My husband was trying to help a lady who somehow got her car high centered when driving over landscaping in a parking lot. 2 older Mexican gentleman saw what he was doing and came to help. They didn't speak English. He doesn't speak Spanish. But after they got the car moving they stood in the parking lot high fiving and first pumping for about 10 minutes and they'd all randomly yell MAN POWER and then high five again.
Regular everyday Mexican people are some of the most down the earth, kind, funny, and respectful people I’ve ever met! No similar language isn’t a problem, they’re still cool and chill with you 😂
Had a whole different idea of Mexicans until I grew up became a blue collar worker and met some amazing beautiful people the value of family hits hard for me and the genuine humanity inside them is shown more to me than my white peers. I stand by them.
I have a family friend in his 40's named Max, Max speaks Spanish and can't really speak English at all. But even without the ability to speak English Max can make an entire room of both English and Spanish speakers laugh to no end, he will say jokes entirely in Spanish but his character and the way he moves around and says things are just so hilarious you don't even have to speak his language to find it humorous.
Best thang i learned as i got older is every shitty situation is a laughable moment.you could not change it because it already happened but you can atleast make a few bad funny jokes about it and move forward the most positive way you can.anger will just make the situation worse every time .people dont want to be yelled at or deal with a person yelling at them ,so learn early to smile ,wave ,and make someones day even if its not yours.
