Maxim Dlugy is just short for Maximum Delusion
Apply cold water to burned area...
(!!) brilliant comment
Maximum dlugyion 😂🤌
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Big if true.
Dlugy: I am Hans' mentor
Magnus: Dlugy is Han's mentor
Dlugy: Magnus is too loose with the term 'mentor' and I demand an apology
@darknightoftroy wait, chesscom published their different methods in stats and algorithm that indicated much more cheating by Hans than Dlugy. Hans did not respond at all and so how is he getting more respect than Dlugy if he has a dark coverup history of cheating with chesscom that robbed players for years and is not being addressed by Hans at all? Hans is literally ignoring it and trying to misdirect. Lots of ppl in the GM circle finally found out their suspicions weren't unfounded after all, and for years they were forced to put up with Hans.
@darknightoftroy well, you'd only be taking my word for it if nobody knows this news but me (but this report is public). and yes, "sometimes" not responding is more respectable, but we have a defined situation here, so using the word "sometimes" is as ambiguous as saying "sometimes silence is an admission of guilt." There's no reason to say "sometimes" as if we can't define the current situation. This is definitely not one of those times where you remain quiet out of "respect" (in fact makes no sense).
In addition, Wesley So literally said with quotes on how Hans specifically tends to disrespect ppl. Therefore, Hans has a history of disrespect with quotes from Wesley (and im sure more GMs have more quotes).
it's crazy how ppl are purposely ignoring all of hans's negative history even though history is vital in all professional settings, from hospitals to security to law.
Makes perfect sense. Magnus sees it as a "cheating mentor", and advice giver for cheating, whereas Dlugy said that he only gets asked general career questions.
magnus said coach
i dont remeber magnos saying mentor he said coach i think, and dugly never said i demand an apology i heard that video too, im not supporting cheating just that fellow professional players shudnt eat other players up, this whole thing is like a lynch mob, what if niemans life goes to trash after all this, its a miracle he can still play gud chess with all the rock throwers, cheating should be stopped totally people need to b supported by others not trashed, especially if ur not the one he cheated against, remeber karma, we harm another living being, we will pay full price sooner or later
Glad you addressed the most obvious stupid thing Dlugy claims at the very beginning. Does he actually think we believe that he was giving multiple candidate moves to his students, getting suggestions from them, and evaluating them before playing them in a 3+2 blitz game? That's insulting to our intelligence and says a lot about the man himself that he can't even come up with a more convincing lie.
He has never played a game legitimately so its understandable why he has no grasp on the speed of the game
Also really shitty of him that he is trying to throw his own students under the bus for his cheating. In his emails with Danny he even offered to give Danny the name of the student who supposedly was using the engine, like wtf?
@@eyeborg3148 Exactly! I noticed that too. If it really happened that way, it's not on that kid, it's on Dlugy. Pretty despicable to offer to name the kid.
MAYBE he should have taken 72 hours to think about THAT scenario/response as well. 🤣🤣
It's pretty convincing if it is a lie. You don't know jack shit
Cheaters fucking around, finding out, then playing the victim never gets old.
Hmmm to be honest, I'm pretty over them and their cheating ways.
Exactly. And notice how they draw everything into the equation now. He's going all in. "WhERe iS YoUr PRoOf?"
Dude is such a liar. In the last letter he said he didn't realize he was cheating until later; he thought he was just following a student rated 1000 below him. With a class of 7 people, if you keep following the same student's move, of course you know they're using an engine.
Probably a student named Hans /s
I'm picking up food vibrations.
And not very educational either
Bzzzz buzz bbzzzzz
1500 rated amateur player "suggests" moves to a GM what a story.
Does he not realize that even getting moves from his students is still cheating? Even though that story has more holes than swiss cheese and isn't believable in the first place.
Yeah dude, i wonder the same, he seriously does not understand that his defence is so stupid, because even if we believe that stupid lie, even there he is still cheating xd
Dlugy is a grandmaster though. If his students are rated 1600-1900 then playing their moves is a handicap, if anything.
@@tenslein8977 Not when you win the tournament with 8/9 (IIRC). Eric Hansen explained it well, at their lvl, strange computer moves almost immediatly light a warning bulb in their head, and it can pass for a few moves, more difficult for a whole game, and impossible for a tournament (even worse for 2 tournaments).
Even more, when you do that, you don't play titled tuesday, you play unrated games (and as Hikaru say, you use longer time control to be able to discuss the moves)
@@tenslein8977 When you have 7 of them together, all putting there ideas out and giving Dlugy moves he didn't originally see, thats cheating..
@@tenslein8977 Their rating doesn’t matter. They’re participating in a game that’s not a group activity.
The claps that came in at 8:13 when Hikaru is calling him out were just perfect.
I read this at that time lol
Fr, at first I thought it was added in post lmao
Maxim: Angry at Magnus bringing him into the drama
Also Maxim: Brings in Hikaru and his step-father
Funny how cheaters like to escalate to legal threats. They can't just admit when they're caught; they turn it around and act like it's your fault.
It's exactly that attitude, even in the absence of concrete proof, that distinguishes them.
Is Maxim Dlugy the Billy Mitchell of chess?
@@Scientist93 Exactly what I thought.
almost. they like to threaten ridiculous lawsuits that never happen due to obvious reasons.
Reminds me of my pillow guy mike lindell and the rigged machine lawsuits.
Exactly the kind of behavior expected from someone that coached Hans. Furthermore, you can even attach Hans character problems directly to him learning from Dlugy.
fr. He's putting the blame on his students cause even if those 'students' gave him moves(as he claims) from an engine, they'd get lesser sanctions because of their age 🤦♂️ typical criminal moves.
He can be a cheater and be right about your step father. Idk why Hikaru thinks it can’t be forth.
Did anyone verify if that post is by Dlugy himself or is one of his students calling the shots again?
🤣 good one! :D
his students helped him write it
@@sithapprentic03 wouldn’t be the first time his students helped him
You'll have to wait a few months to find out... lol...
the joke is writing itself...
Never go full Dlugy.
it is funny because you have substituted the word retard with Dlugy
Dlugy: attacks Hikaru’s dad
Hikaru, about to sac the exchange:
Wait -
:|
Naka's mating net failed and Dlugy wins with a Rook vs. Bishop endgame and promotes a pawn!
@@jeremyrogers6179 he can trap me in his mating net anytime 😖
I love it... get caught for cheating... blame everyone else... demand apologies
Seems quite on par these days
He didn’t, he blamed one student for the cheating, and blamed many for the slander.
Classic narcissistic counter-accusation rather than contrition. “You should be ashamed of calling out my cheating instead of focusing on what _I_ am telling you is important!”
He wanted to profit on it by being called mentor when it was profitable, but when that turned around, suddenly he was not mentor, coach or trainer. 😂
Exactly! If you look on his chess school website claims Hans as a student who has won some scholastic championships. Now he doesn't have anything tot do with the kid. Pretty pathetic.. Anyway you can tell he is just trying to get someone to really libel him so that he can sue them
Imagine paying up to $200 an hour for lessons, and the lesson is that you have to give Dlugy moves while he's playing in a Titled Tuesday trying to make more money. 🤑
"Chess players are not geniuses, we're very good at moving carved wood."
Precisely.
Some geniuses are very specialized. I think the term genius is quite vague.
@@goku445 Vague and overused, yes.
Dlugy's strategy to remove himself from this drama is to dig deeper and implicate himself more. Wild.
For real, dlugy is acting like a full on clown rn
Dlugy is digging himself deeper with every post. Of course @GMHikaru is just going to keep laughing at everything this joker says.
I bet if he gets a lawyer he would be advised to stfu
Hikaru is the last super GM I would expect wanting to teach a bunch of 8 year old's for pennies on the dollar lmao
For real, my man plays chess for 8 year olds on twitch and makes bank
Lol Hikaru laughing at his enemy that is obviously raging his ass off is just hilarious
“Classified emails” 😂😂😂
Dlugy is shamelessly plugging his business in this letter
Dlugy should have kept quiet and let the storm passed. Now he has spoken, future parents would not want to put their kids in his chess school.
I just realized if you rearrange the letters in the word TEACHER, you get CHEATER...
GOTTEM
This guy has changed his story every single time he's said something. Bro literally can't open his mouth without lying.
From his outrageous insane excuse for cheating that is an insult to anyone's intelligence, to the deflection tactics, to his childish and petty demand for an apology. This guy couldn't be any less likeable. He isn't gonna sway many people onto his side by behaving like an unhinged, irrational a**hole
Hot Take: Hans wrote this post to shift the media attention away from him for a few days so he can get Uber Eats in peace.
Dlugy is spending a lot of time pretending Magnus really meant he was a literal mentor rather that making a snarking comment about the link between him and Hans.
Also, shoutout to Sunil, who taught me chess in elementary school in White Plains back in the 1980s!
The cover up is worse than the crime lol Dlugy and Hans just keep on digging themselves into a hole.
Glad he's switched to dark mode 👍
Dark lord Hikaru
I didn’t get the impression that magnus was implying that dlugy is helping hans cheat. I just took it as a way for magnus to indirectly say that he thought hans was cheating while also bringing up that hans associates himself with a known cheater. But dlugy seems to think it meant he helped hans cheat during his game against magnus? Perhaps a bit of unintentional self criminalization?
I have no idea why this chess drama is so amusing/entertaining to me, but Hikaru's updates are like new episodes to a tv series XD
So Dlugy is trying to call out magnus for having no proof in involving him…. But then also has no proof that magnus’ source was Richard Conn?
The entire post is a bunch of unhinged ranting, logic has no place here lol
Lmfao DLUGY JUST SIGNED HIS OWN DEATH WARRANT!! Hans messed up and mentioned Hikaru's name ONCE and has gotten a video about his cheating DAILY on his channel, NOW WE'RE ABOUT TO GET MULTIPLE VIDEOS DAILY ABOUT DLUGY FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS 🤣😂🤣😂
In court: "I swear I lied admitting cheating"
This man has a gift. With every new statement he makes, he gets embarassed even more.
😂😂
Even if we were to say that all Dlugy said in his first statement were true, what example would he be setting for his students. Allowing a fair play violation to happen and during a tournament with stakes? This would be a horrible thing to be teaching your students.
But seeing as how he wants to be allowed to play in cash tournaments it doesn't make sense or add up as to why he would let his student make moves for him anyway since he wants to be able to win money.
Seems like the name of a magician
THE GREAT HIKARU
🎩🐇💫
i like how he plugs the locations of his work places
Dlugy: Greater Teacher of All Time oh sorry Greatest Cheater of All time.. ✌🏻
The funniest part of this is that Dlugy assumes his so called "2-3 candidate moves" are such good options that they always contain the top engine move.
This is one of the most impressive examples of strawman-ing by someone who's supposed to be highly intelligent that I've ever seen.
Hikaru is clearly having the most fun.
I see where Hans learned the skill of digging one's own grave.
In the first proper paragraph Dlugy shows how good of chess career he's had and that he is/was a respected player, and then he proceeds to make us believe that for "personal reasons" or "having a lot to do" he just confessed to have cheated just to get his account back, potentially destroying the legacy of his career. Yeah, sure…
No one telling the truth over-explains this much. This is all about twenty levels of detail too deep for a serious defense.
I think Hikaru made a good point regarding blitz and the time it takes to make moves. I am happy Hikaru has finally after some time, learned how to place points out there without actually defaming someone.
Yea. I’m super new to chess on this level, but even I knew that discussing moves interactively in blitz chess is bogus. There’s nowhere near enough time to do that consistently, especially with arguably lesser players that have to digest the positions in order to come up with any solutions. It’s just untenable
@@thomasdr08 Maybe if the players were masters. But even then, it would not be educational. Unlike what Naka said at the end, Naka is quite a smart individual. When calm, he has a very quick rational approach.
Just when I thought we had reached Maximum Dlusion...
I see what you did there
Totally dlugynal
He’s just making it worse for himself.
If he was smart he would have just shut up and most people would have forgotten about it.
Instead he’s dragging his own name through the mud and trying to play the victim when he’s the one who cheated. Engine or not it doesn’t matter - if you get moves from any outside source it’s 100% cheating.
Lol, the deflection is so obvious. Very entertaining, thanks Hikaru! 👍👍🙏
Rather than Maxim Dlugy, he is Maxim Dlusional
Wait, so is he putting the blame of cheating on his students!?🥴
Yes. Imagine being a GM and taking advice that is clearly above your student’s abilities. I’m totally new to competitive chess, but I would hope a GM could tell I’m totally in over my head if I’m offering engine-level moves without being able to explain the position in-depth
It was about time Hikaru got pulled into this mess by name, the fun is about to begin
That moment when speaking out makes you look worse than staying silent.
hilarious that dlugy thinks hes in a position to be making demands of anyone
This Dlugy guy is out of control!
Even if Dlugy's half-baked story about taking engine moves from students is true (it isn't), it's still 100% his fault for failing to teach his students fair play. If your students cheat, you are a horrible teacher!
Also parenting... not always teachers' obligation to teach ethics
Dlugy's nonsens speaks for itself.
Maxim needs to lawyer up. Not because he's in trouble, but because he should have someone check his blog posts before he embarrasses himself more.
Having a hard time believing Dlugy runs a business and good at chess. This man really sat down long enough to write that attack piece and didn't spend 5 minutes googling to see if Hikaru makes more than his stepfather business or not. LOL, homie really underestimate how much a streamer with over 10k average viewer makes.
Business rival? Hikaru makes more in one day than Dlugy does in a month
LOLOL. Absolutely hilarious suggestion that Hikaru, Super GM and top chess streamer, NEEDS his dad’s chess coaching business.
lmao when you just left hikarus stream, yeah Dugly is trying to deflect blame and be a victim
Dlugy's defensiveness speaks for itself
It seems like Dlugy is auditioning for a table and a chair in the park.
Gonna be pretty awkward next time Hikaru sees dlugy
"Even though I used the word mentor in the telephone conversation it was pretty clear I was not involved with anything to do with Hans' preparation for the game". Mentor definition: noun
an experienced and trusted adviser, verb advise or train (someone, especially a younger colleague). It was pretty clear. Clear as mud. The only thing that is pretty clear is that Dlugy was probably trying to take credit for Hans play against Magnus in his chat with that guy when Hans beat Magnus and he 's now trying to distance himself.
Man, that story is implausible. If it were true should expect to go into minute detail to genuinely convince people. But he doesn't, instead he presents himself as a victim - to discredit and belittle the accusations. Manipulative and suspicious reaction to suspicious behaviour.
I 100% believe the student feeding him was Hans, and now he’s helping Hans cheat.
i'm not 100% on it but I've been thinking the same thing for a week or two now, there's way too much shady shit going on fr
it was later confirm hans was indeed the kid
@@donnelleraeburn9207 Wow really? Has anyone been monitoring Dlugy's whereabouts when Hans is in OTB tournaments?
@@donnelleraeburn9207 Where (source)?
You base this off no hard proof. It's so dumb to assert this. This is just entertainment and a chance to feel correct for too many people. jfc
Hikaru handed Dlugy a HUGE shovel and he's has been kind enough to dig himself into a very large hole with it
Max D is looking for a pin of shame.
The way he just flat out said that NYC businesses are extremely defensive of their turf actually is a testament to Hikaru's honesty. Trust me people involved with syndicates or such wouldn't publicly say such a thing. It's refreshing to see Hikaru knows how things go but isn't himself invested in these types of things.
How can you take a private company to public court because they banned you from their business? They have the right to refuse service / business to any customer, for any reason, except if on the basis of a protected class (e.g. gender, race).
I also love that he thinks his emails are confidential. Like if you hit the forward button in an email app you are committing a crime.
its funny the more they talk the more they get sus the more they get exposed 😂
Fair play for staying so neutral. When someone employs a dirty tricks campaign they want a public fight, but you denied him the opportunity.
Damn I’m busy now but will have to tune back in later for this
"attacked"🤣
I propose a boxing match between Nakamura and Dlugy 🥊
I got $ on Dlugy
Dlugy looks like an improper fraction
I love that you want to giveback to your stepfather in the future when he is older.. thats awesome.
Classified emails? Who does he think he is? The CIA?
more like the KGB
Dude threw his 1500rated students under the bus and is now trying to throw Hans under the bus too
To be fair, If Hikaru was going to inherit the business, he wouldn’t admit a conflict of interest
9:30 Be careful…. next Dlugy’s attack line will be Hikaru cannon be real GM because he thinks 2022-1978=46 😂
Dlugy speaks for himself
Its so frustrantion thia cheater getting away and also been able to adress false acusation and claming that every one needs to apologize him for god knows why! This guy is so bad for the chess comunity
I think he knows Hans is going to sink and he’s trying to get out of that boat asap.
11:15
"Chess players are not geniouses,
we are just very good at moving around carved wood"
Wisdom just there!
Hikaru is just preachin truth. Amen. I love how he's not playing the statements game as he knows he's just in the right and has nothing to hide, and no need to plan "how he's gonna say" the f'in truth.
Obviously as the description of this video shows, he is not backing down or afraid to hurt some people's feelings, but being gentle and "letting this go quietly" would actually be the unethical thing to do. It's just wrong to lie, and a lie can't be "the last word".
I do hope however that Hikaru will show restraint because this is not an even contest. I believe now is the time to just be bigger than this, and ignore Dlugy from now on. No need to push an unstable man over the edge.
Dlugy's paranoid accusation speaks for itself.
Maxim Dlugy admitting he cheated speaks for itself.
Dlugy will eventually come out and say that one of his students wrote everything.
I’m SO GLAD that Dlugy came out as a raving lunatic, that now I’m totally hooked. Hans split the community, one side of SJWs feeling sorry for him and believing every word he says, and the other side being more objective and realizing his long-established pattern of deception. But now that Maximum Delusion has entered the fold it’s only further casting doubt on Hans and his reprehensible character. Mostly I want the whole drama to be done with, banning these two for life from competition, but a part of me wants to see this escalate until the whole world sees them for their true nature.
dear chess world: enjoy this introduction to Cluster B
Get pissed at me if you want but can we acknowledge the extreme parallels between this behavior and that of a certain idiotic and formerly very powerful man in the United States?
-deflecting blame (for one's own behavior!) to "the leakers"
-making utterly ridiculous and implausible excuses for wrong behavior
-throwing underlings under the bus
-blaming those who call you out or try to hold you accountable, saying they have a vendetta against you, and they are the bad guys
-trying to make arguments in "court of public opinion" but not seeking legal remedies as there is no case
-resorting to conspiracy theories
take a shot every time hikaru says 'OK.'
Hikaru's gonna have to watch his back, after this settles! My man just murdered Dlugy!
The great hikaru makes you sound like a magician 😂
At one point you’re going to have to give them a thank you video for allowing you to monetize their cheating drama
