They were entering the depths of a disused flooded quarry in Leicestershire, UK, a popular dive training site…but the events that would follow would be the beginning of a hellish chapter in Nigel’s life as he was prosecuted for his student’s death. This case led to medical discoveries that would change dive training forever. This is their story….

    The problem is the prosecutors, there and in our country.
    Bringing cases to jurors with the slimmest of circumstantial evidence. Limelight seekers.

    Prosecutors shouldn't go after people just because society needs someone to blame. Some accidents are just that: accidents.

      What's not in the video is the guy died because he was irresponsible. He had cocaine in his system. The instructor was 110% NOT at fault.

      @@vampiresforeslIt’s stated in the video that his lungs filled up work fluid making it hard for him to breath. The condition that caused this wasn’t well known about back then leading to the confusion.

    These tragedies are sometimes even worse than death. Human beings have propensity for endless suffering. As a human in my 40s, I still think back to my worst moments in elementary school, and it always hurts. As outsiders, we’ll never know if justice was served in this case. And if we’re being honest, even the people who were there will never know for sure.

    Wow that sounds like a prosecutor trying to make a name for himself.
    Prosecute a bullshit case, ruin a guy's life because you're trying to build your name.

    This instructot was aware of shortage of air in the tanks, once there was issues he should have brought him to the surface, that extra 2 mins stopped would probably have saved his life. You where his trainir & guide, his safety was in your hands.

    • @seraphik
      @seraphik Před 3 měsíci

      yeah I'm kinda split on this. diver was being irresponsible and it sounds like it was an edema issue not really an air issue... but considering he was indeed using air faster than normal, and considering this was noted on three separate occasions, maybe err on the side of caution and go up if he's suddenly telling you he's out of air. esp when they were safety stopping at 5 meters and had already spent 2 out of 3 min there. like do you really think the risk of taking the last 5m one minute too soon is riskier than the guy potentially running out of oxygen?

  • @mannyamato3421
    @mannyamato3421 Před 5 měsíci +5

    Too bad he wasn't found guilty. When someone wants air, that means they want air. If you would've just brought him up, he would most likely be here, not like he would get a termial case of the bends at 75ft before routinely being checked out at a hospital..

    • @vampiresforesl
      @vampiresforesl Před 5 měsíci +5

      He had air. There was air in the tank. The victim's lungs were drowning in their own fluid. Did you watch until the end of the video?

    • @aVeiraSura
      @aVeiraSura Před 5 měsíci +3

      Also, the instructor wasn't aware that this guy had cocaine in his system. The instructor had enough air for both of them and wasn't at fault. The guy that died was very irresponsible.

      The video did not conclude that the diver had fluids in his lungs. It was only a probable explantion.@@vampiresforesl
