The Monte Rosa Massif is a group of mountains like very few in the world. While many are not as tall or difficult as more known peaks, there is still a danger in attempting to summit a 4,000 meter mountain.

I have been binge watching mountaineering content and this channel is by far my favorite. Great work!
Me too ! Itâs just so interesting yet so sad
Weather is coming but we'll travel light...oof
Hey I knew a climber that climbed up naked just to save weight
@@handduggraverdronline When bad weather was predicted?
There was a bad weather warning and they went anyways?!? They were the ONLY climbers on the mountain and they went anyways?!? They didnât bring survival supplies?!? They had no business being on that mountain.
Always be ready to spend the night when you go hiking up a mountain like this; a little preparation could save your life.
If they spent the night at the summit, above the low clouds, would that have saved them? Serious question.
@@noctis129 If they had a tent and proper clothing? Sure. But the real lesson is respect the weather and never try to outclimb a storm. The mountain was empty for a reason that day.
You don't have to be prepared to spend the night comfortably - that would be a lot of gear you would have to carry. But at leat carry a bivvy bag and some heat source like a coal or gas-based pocket heater. Those few hundred grams of weight per person would have saved those 2 from freezing to death. They carried a satphone but not basic weather gear - funny combo.
This one, for some reason hits hard. Very very heartbreaking
Thank you very much for doing the metric conversions for Americans for me. I really do appreciate the courtesy.â€
As do I.
Yes, thank you!!
Why didnt they carry at least a little survival gear? Just tragic
Thank you everyone for watching! Check out some of my other Mountaineering videos: czcams.com/video/BjhJgqAzY1g/video.html
Everyone can do with a reminder now & then, whether you're climbing Everest or going for a short hike at your local nature reserve.... _always respect Mother Nature, because she has no respect for you._
She respects us, she is offering all the necessary things to people with knowledge and she is offering such beautiful and wild places for us to discover. We on the other hand donât respect the wild nature of those beautiful and dangerous areas⊠We expect nature to be in our control but it is the other way around. Cheers đ
Love your content, think we can all learn from others mistakes, anywho and nonetheless, thank you for another great video
Thank you for your support!
ive been a fan since i found your channel. im excited to be here at 1.6k. youre gonna blow up (^:
Thank you for the continued support!
Hello from Northern Wisconsin. Never play games with the cold. You will lose.
13123 feet =4000 meters
BTW, I don't care traveling only 50 miles in my car, I always pack 3 days worth survival stuff with me.
But do you lug it up a mountain that you expect to be up and down in a day? The problem wasn't their gear. The problem is they made a climb with a predicted storm on the way.
Finally found one of your videos I can actually hear
bro fumbled the bag
You have to remember everest/himalayas are by tropic of cancer so the snow line is really high and weather a lot better as well as the sun strong and warm. But the alps are much further north in latitude.
So sad. I didn't expect that result!
to think how difficult it is to traverse these mountains when I can "easily" do a day hike up similar height mountains in the Colorado Rockies
I'm not saying its a walk in the park just point out the difference
The death zone doesn't start until 8000 meters, though.
Bro when you're an idiot death zone is anything above 0 meters
They werenât prepared for the weather. A storm rolled in, it got cold and they werenât dressed for it. They didnât die from O2 deprivation, they died from hypothermia.
@@MiffetBlue You're right. 4000 meters can be dangerous, as well. I was just making a joke.
The death zone starts where preparation ends.
They died and endangered lives because they didnât think at all about what they were doing . Unprepared for the hike. They should have never even attempted this is light weight clothing and no emergency gear
GPS emergency locators can save your life. A flint and steel weighs nothing. Flares are cheap. Seriously if your life matters then expect the best and plan for the worst.
Stupid tragedy ending in needless loss of life
Im a little nwrvvous a w/o
Great video, but the Kickstarter Scam Community would like their music back from the intro
Steve, your ten subs are anxiously awaiting your next drone video to dropâŠbest get to it.

"The wind blew the snow around as if it were weightless." Seriously said this?
What kind of idiotic statement is that?
This thing is read like a story being read to 1st-graders.
Also, he said "They were prepared for the climb, but not for the weather". Well then, they really weren't "prepared for the climb".
Maybe he's making his videos for little kids.
I agree... a documentary style is easier to listen too. All the dramatic illiterations are sickening.
Leave his page if hate is all you have to offer. Total disrespect.
