"Cool game concepts killed by gacha and bad management"... I already know how this series will be vilified by gacha game devs but little do they know they can actually learn from mistakes that kill their games... or maybe not lol
I played this about a year ago. Beat the main storylines and a few event side stories then moved on. The story and writing is not bad. In fact the frog is rather funny at times when he hits on the girls lol. Gacha rates are so bad lol
I feel the same, came into this completely blind off of play store, story is like a 7.5/10 and the characters are pretty nuanced but my God the gacha is horrendous, I had to quit and come back since I spent half a year only to get 4 SSRs. Now I learn about these false ads, I wonder if the marketing team or devs want the game to tank.

The story from Act 5 onwards, as well as the side stories, are actually pretty decent. I love the game's soundtrack too. You're playing the losing game for things like PVP, but there are still things you can enjoy as a F2Player, if you look past the gacha. I think the fake ads ruin the game's rep more than anything in the game itself could. That, and you hit the nail on the head that all the male characters are practically useless while the bikini girls are mostly god tier.
I absolutely love that you're doin this series similar to the Josh Strife Hayes worst mmo ever series. I honestly wish more content creators would makes series' like this for genres they're highly knowledgeable and passionate about. More entertaining for us, but also informative and can save some poor saps some cash by keeping them from diving into the 'wrong' game.
Josh and I spoke about it via DMs, actually. I was originally going to go with "Best Gacha Ever," but he told me to go with "Worst Gacha Ever," instead. So here we are!

Hey guys, one of the 600m BP players here from E-1.
Firstly, thank you Stix this video is completely 100% true, the game is laughable. It didn't use to be this way, the horrendous stragedies employed in the last 2-3 years to get more money has been extremely transparent.
1. The Gacha rate used to be better, 3 years ago, before the "bot" update. You had to use more money to get SS (the currency), 150$ = 4000ss, but the rates were bearable and the grind to max a unit was lesser because bonuses came from unit boosts, as in you just find any unit and use it as a boost to empower your SSR up to 100. You still need 5 units to max the level itself to 100 though. Back then, 100 level SSRs were rare, you'd never see a full lineup of 100lvl units, whilst now it's extremely common if not unusual not to see maxed unit players. Nowadays you can get 12000, 16000ss for 150 which is far better - along with fountain, but rates to actually attain SSRs is worse. Honestly this has been made a lot easier for people, this was the one good thing.
2. They changed manual battles to straight auto in everything after story. This was by and far the worst change Evertale has done thus far. Before, you could stragedise and make teams to how YOU want to play. Now it's made to how the bots want to play, no creativity - just meta builds and units. Some SSRS can single wipe teams if given space (Looking at you, Mysha and Djeanne. There's two more that can do it two, but they're the two main offenders.)
3. Major power creep. every 2nd new SSR can team wipe old SSRs and old SSRs get no love. No rebalance, no updates. It's all about that new SSR that will change the tide of battle and that's all you CAN do to win because they made all battles on auto.
4. Waifu simulator. It's just Waifus. No more dragons, not many men, just count up the big tiddy girls and variants of same big tiddy girls, wife versions and all.
5. They used to have proper PVP and PVP events. So far it's been a year and they still haven't brought it back.
Arena doesn't count. Bots fighting bots is boring as shit.
6. 8,000$ for one SSR. Personal gripe, thanks Evertale. Typically you'll be spending 250-500$ per SSR to awaken it, unless you get lucky.
And beware - If you pull like crap from the start, just stop. It won't turn around for another 50k SS. In this game you either get it within the first 20k, or it takes 100k until SSR drops start coming out for you. Their 50k SS pity system for a garuenteed SSR does not exclusively apply to the banner character, it is simply all basic SSRS + banner.
7. Bullshit grindfest for materials. Everything gives next to nothing materials to upgrade units you'll be grinding forever, i honestly feel bad for long term f2p players because it's simply not viable. IT USED TO BE, due to manual battles, but not anymore. 800/450/350/300/220/200 limit potions to go 80 -> 200 lvl, raids give 50 max and that's if it's a lucky day, War can give a decent amount if you're with a decent alliance that dominates half a map but that amounts to 20-30 I believe.
7a. Then there's the new boosting system, with a % and + based boosts, which take forever to fill if f2p. Like, forever. For one SSR it will take a month or two to max in f2p, they give decent bonuses in the end, doubling a characters hp and damage. up to 65% is viable to grind for, the last 35% is atrociously slow. (10 material for 0.2%, only get 30-50 material a day on average).
8. Wars. Connection issues, slow downs during war to the point that no one can harm each other. The concept is pretty cool otherwise.
There were some things I think they did right, their global activities - like, server to server arena and wars is pretty dope. But the shortcomings of this game and the grind fest / power creep make it absolutely not worth anyones time, not in their right mind. The only thing that kept me going was that I've always had a lot in this game since back then, when i pulled the trigger at the start 3-4 years ago it turned into a "well I'm this far with it, I may as well keep going." But I have serious regrets having done it.
I won't disclose how much i've paid, but you can imagine how much I've sunk in, i have all but 4 SSR characters bought and awakened in the game.

Do you recommend another gacha that is f2p friendly? I really liked the story of Evertale but so far it requires serious investment.
@@ozymandias8523 Honestly that's hard to answer, gacha's are usually by definition not very f2p friendly.. I would recommend a game with good co-op so that you get more out of it.
For me, I went to Grand Summoners, Shadowverse and a little bit of Genshin.
Genshin's cool at first, but you get one banner character and suddenly you can beat the whole game pretty easily. I mean, I should clarify that not all of them can, but a majority of them can - and co-op is usually is limited by energy so you can't have a serious gaming session with others really, it's just a few runs. Also genshin is 90% sitting through dialogue. lol
Grand Summoners is pretty cool and actually surprising really f2p friendly, there IS an arena but there's a lot of co-op battles. essentially it's a 2-d 4-man battle where you bring in a unit to a lobby, 1-4 players a session, and you have 3 items your character is equipped with and you can either be a tank, be a damage dealer or be utility (support).
The reason I say GS is really f2p friendly is because of their events, they have a lot of ways you can get more potent units, the shop is pretty expensive, but anniversary / special events usually net you some really good characters. It also currently has an anniversary event going where every day you free-summon for any unit minus the event ones, and you can keep re-summoning until you get the unit you want.
I skipped all the story lol, but the event stories are interesting because they bring in popular characters from some really good anime! For instance, Re:zero, Fairy Tail, Slime, Kill La Kill etc, some really good cross over stuff. I thought that was really cool about the game.
Last, but definitely not least - Shadowverse. This one's a card game, it's Gacha but it's not co-op. it's just really fun because you have a lot of control over how you want to play, and there's a lot of interesting aspects to the card game, i'd say it's even better than Witchers card game, Gwent. The reason I suggest this one is because the deck you make if you play it right, can beat a really strong one. that's not to say there aren't OP cards, there are. But it's a fun one because there's SO many different mechanics and races and types of cards in that card game and you can do some seriously interesting things.
Also the music is great - have a listen to Shadowverse OST - Forestcraft! it has some fantastic music. Can't say much about the story though i skipped all of it lol

Ive read up to 5th and can say I do remember old pvp,it was way better than now
I've been playing it for a month, reached the 7th act of the sequence of the first history. The writing is good, the characters are interesting, but as you mentioned, it's a game plagued with greedy devs where every woman in the game is used to attract people and make them pay for the gacha, which is terrible, since I don't have any and I'm already running into a wall on the history without them. It's also incredibly expensive to pay for it where I live, so I guess I'll be soon leaving the game.
I played up to the end of the first main story and after they take away the free roam and the ability to catch the pointless monsters in the first place. Plus they add the mana system to the story to inhibit game play in order to get you to spend money on the mana on top of the gatcha. At that point I was like you know what.... I'm good fam

Played for 3 years and I recommend you should save up to 30 000 ss to do Lucky fountain. The only thing I play this game is it has Lucky fountain which can double your ss mean you can have around 10k ss to pull ( that is lowest ss you can have) also mean that I can have 100 pulls each month. The story was not that bad, it was really good I admit but the recent characters were all unknow new lewd female characters who evem don't have in any event or storyline . The Endless Finn was the other version of Finn - the main character, but the Developer didn't make Endless Finn to be playable even him was released 2 years ago. Summary, Evertale can give you 100 pulls each month ( if you can save up to 30k ss for Lucky fountain) actually that is the only good thing why I played this game =((. The story is good if you don't mind to lewd things in the story. Gacha rate such bad so when I want to roll any character I need at least 17k ss to get that unit =((. I hope this will help you guys in some ways. Good bye. (PLEASE DON'T SPEND MONEY TO THIS GAME OR YOU WILL REGRET)
This is that one game... where the devs only want you to login everyday for a couple minutes and immediately log out. less you wanna spend money. Cause I swear, that is the best use of your time in this game as F2P. If you wanna put in more time? make more accounts. That's litteraly the best use of your time in the game.

Heard you got the miniseries idea from Josh Strife Hayes. Not calling you out or anything, I literally heard about a discussion about this in one of his recent Josh x Callen episodes.
I personally gave up on Evertale not just because of the false advertising but literally because of the low rates. The only cool thing about Evertale was this fountain event where if you put in your gems in the fountain, you get more gems than you put in back. That was the only thing I liked really (Other than the waifu art, but I already know their artists so no real need to play the game now)
You should've played more Another Eden if you wanted more rarer summons in those couple weeks :P (I'm just lowkey suggesting AE next actually)

The new character Waifus looks really sexy, and there's a separate gacha Pool for the new character, Dev is friendly. But in the exploration part of the map, there is no virtual joystick UI, so when the hero runs, it is difficult to reach the destination. In addition, in terms of core gameplay, TU and power release are a bit expensive to operate, some levels require manual operation, and some are a waste of time
Can confirm this game is a terrible Gacha game I have a better time with PGR and Disgaea RPG without spending a thing
I downloaded the game back then because it was free and also pokemon was still very relevant back then. Imanaged to finish the main story and got into the like next chapter and to my surprise it wasn’t even open world anymore, it was similar to the level select of pvz2 and that was a big dissapointment to me because cmon chapter 1 was a free roam place and you know pokemon rpg and stuff. But alas my account got lost when my phone broke, sadly I had 4 Ssrs too Fire Astrid, The alice in wonderland looking girl, the poison witch character, and frog princess (I can’t be bothered to remember their names). And I tried to retrieve my account back but to no avail, and thus i stopped playing(maybe a blessing in disguise, who knows).

This game used to be good but when a different company took over this game it became literal shit
I must have some insane luck with this game and draws. I’ve done probably 7 1000 shard pulls, and out of that, I got one ssr Elmina, jedariel but he was my base pick for the game, Velle, two Esmas, Stella, Greta, Ja’Nafaat (thank god, I can replace my vivica with him), Inanna, and Gari. I’ve only played the game for a week and a half, and don’t really grind it either. I got 4 s tier+ characters in a draw I just did 10 minutes ago. The game is fun for now for me, but I do see how bad rates can be some times, I feel I have an insane streak of luck because before I pulled elmina I was getting nothing, and I got her at the perfect time cuz she was the perfect counter to the final offline campaign boss, who I was stuck on and was going to build out a rare to beat. I will say as far sr goes, many of the girls I’ve gotten are pretty the same kit wise, mostly healers and guards, none attack except elmina and Stella.
I stopped playing this game because i thought there were only monsters, like pokemon, but ladies with humongous pairs of mountains aren't monsters.

Evertale was pretty good when I played, but after some days of playiing I noticed the horrible gacha that this game has making me quit. I think that this games would have be even bettter if it didn't have gacha

i rember the game being somewhat decent at first but then the 2.0 overhaul happened and everything went downhill from them stopping the main story to the redesigns of characters

He and luscious don't receive hit points after their special moves unlike the rest of the female characters. It's not fair. They're just one shot heroes.
I've played the main story line up to the end of chapter 11 and now I'm waiting for chapter 12 but it looks like I may uninstall this game for a third time and never come back to it because it's a really sh!ty game and I get more in game "trash" than what I know to do with also I DON'T recommend it because it's such a terrible gatcha game.

Never been more grateful for the fact that I’m gay. Makes me immune to all the scantily clad bombastic cleavage wifu bait this game tries to use to get you to spend money to hopefully get one. Maybe I’d be paying an arm and a leg if they placed a Baltu Merc in the game dressed in nothing but a loincloth and showing off his rippling muscled furred body. I’m a proud furry and I’d be all over a game with a character that looks like Blaidd from Elden Ring or my dilf chubby daddy Tom Nook from Animal Crossing. As it is I’ll probably never spend a cent on this game and just deal with the tiny amount of free soul stones I get from the daily login rewards and events.

There are far worse gacha games. The ads are honestly the worst thing about it, and it’s a shame because the game itself isn’t bad.

You forget that all the female characters you unlock in the story (rizette, astrid, ludmilla, etc) are equally useless later on, since they are also locked to 3-star. You have to roll for the better versions of them in gacha draws. You can’t even gain anything other than silver from scrapping them, which is only used to buy equally useless low level items in the offline story, which has desperately needed to be expanded for years now.
The first SSR character is kind of a gimme, they give you one after a while, but after that, it’s a toss up. I only ever got two before I bought in. Also the paid SS you buy are spent first, meaning you have to wait for the paid draw to come around to avoid wasting them. I paid so you don’t have to. I wouldn’t recommend playing if you don’t want to invest ~$50 to get some decent units, or log in daily and grind for a year to become half-decent.
Just play the story, then play something else.

It's a good game, but it's pay to win, and after you beat it. Its a waste of time, battle cats will forever be better
Evrtale 2.0 Was the worst horrible update i have evr seen in gamming History, no joke, like everything auto wth a Ai that just horendous, a lot more grindy in order to awaken and painfull, all our old mats thrown into literly the trash, bunch of stupid ads that has negative ( - x) values of any relevelance to the game, like what the freak its is inmensed wasted potential, instead of atracting people there just unatracting them, instead of making the game fun and desirable their doing the contrary, and they pretend people to waste their money on it.
like please honestly and what the freak is with the new server there literaly 41 server witch i bet 30 do not play becuse instead of keeping players ad getting benefits at the long run the dramataze updates are gonna be good and ruin literly everything the game has, give us a mechanic of capturing and it beig compleatly useless also its world like half of the game is literly unusefull and broken down the road.
Like honestly my batalion is literly 19m and i cant even fight againts people at 7m becuse The freaking AI in pvp litterly does not know a single thing thats going and and randomly using all resurces on the same enemy, like honestly the capacity of the Ai in this game is litterly less then a baby trying to put shapes on one of thous box with shape wholes toys, litterly almost newly born and just smashing the box trying to put the circle in the triangle hole, like honestly its pitifull, and do to that even if i got the power and high level character i cannot grind important thing i need to grind effectivly becuse it force auto AI.
Like honestly what the freak, literly all the 2.0 update just made evrything bad and a waste of development time.
