The best advice I can give is to try and join the most popular alliance on your server if they’ll have you. (Doing this is way easier on newer servers.)
Just ask them questions and study their commands then ask questions after battle phase finishes. That’s what I did and I met some cool people that really helped me learn it all.

If you want to find some fun active servers try some of the newer ones

How strong do you actually have to be to do first raid? I tried once and failed miserably

Not too strong. Especially now a days with the newer units. One FAd Dark Sun WuKong can solo almost all raids.
But if you’re still struggling just do what I did in the video and wait til someone else starts one and join their party 😀
You can also ask in world chat or your alliance chat for help being carried
